  1. Like you I had a steep learning curve with lipos, I brought the skyrc t100 like recommended above and can't rate it enough. It's simple to use and does everything you need and best of all it charges 2 batteries at the same time! Like stated above I needed a adaptor lead to go from the charger to the battery (xt60-deans) and also brought a balance lead extensension for ease of use. I got it from wheelspin as that was cheapest I could find it and is also my local shop. There's helpful YouTube videos that show how to use the different modes on the skyrct100. Incase you didn't know, On the carnage there's a little plug on the ESC to move over for lipo mode, as far as I know it turns on a automatic cut off when the lipos run low so you don't kill the battery. Im not sure if yours is the same?
  2. I meant to put shim not spacer 🤦🏻‍♂️, to my defence I was in the middle of fitting a new control pendant to a overhead crane haha. I have got some small washers and will try them when I get the replacement screws. Is there any essential hop ups anyone can think of that I should be looking at getting?
  3. I brought the skyrc t100 and the 2s lipos from Amazon prime, seems to work perfect enough until the truck fell apart 🤦🏻‍♂️ new screws ordered and a full bolt check pending. I have noticed the wheels have a lot of wobble on them, hopefully spacing the the dog bones and hex ppin will sort it tho
  4. Will the sky RC t100 charge thise batteries ok? Or ideally one on Amazon I could primed to me for tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♂️ thanks
  5. Thanks for that, I can 100% understand where everyone is coming from. I have gone for the brushed version for £120 and will purchase a 2s lipo and charger seperately! Most probably the ones suggested in the previous posts
  6. It looks to be a very very basic charger 800mah Etronix pocket balance charger worth abou £10 on a good day, I'm useless at making decisions I really am haha
  7. The basic brushed carnage is £119 currently but they do a package with a 2s lipo and charger for £177 or the brushless version with lipo included for £199.
  8. Thanks for the replies lads, I'm trying not to be a proper a newbie but I have been put of the hobby for a few years now and want a cheap truck to have some fun with. Is it worth getting the 2s lipo addition or just stick with the NiMH battery until I need to upgrade? The single battery included isn't going to last nearly long enough so I want a spare battery aanyway. Is the lipo and charger combo worth it Or am I better getting a lipo and charger seperately from the car? When I last had a rc lipos had only just come out and nitro was ruling so I'm abit out of my depth at the minute to be honest, i have ideal £200 budget as I don't want to get overly invested incase it's just a fad at minute and the carnage seems to be the best for the buck from what I can see EDIT: I have a strange logic sometimes and what my thinking is, for the brushed car with lipo and charger it's £177 for the brushless which includes lipo it's £200 so for the brushless system it's an extra £23? Almost seems worth it unless there's something obvious I can see , thanks again for any input 👍
  9. Hi all, I have tried to search the forums for a answer but had no luck so thought i would ask it here, I am going to my local hobby shop tomorrow to look at buying a carnage, question is do I go with the brushed version and get a 2s lipo at the same time for £177 or get the brushless version which comes with a 2s for £199 is it worth extra for brushless? What do you gain/loose. any input is greatly appreciated, thanks Adam
  10. Thanks for the reply! I don't want anything smaller than 1/10 scale and my budget is around £250 maybe a bit more if required. I want something where spares are readily available as I will definitely be breaking stuff 😁 Iv had another good read of the guides and seem to be getting some sort of understanding but Im very much a practical minded person and learn by actually doing something rather than reading about it When I was into RC years ago I had a fair few different models (onroad & offroad) and found I enjoyed electric more than nitro, nitro took more preparation and electric was very much grab a battery and go. Not sure if I will feel the same as an adult but definately open to all options. I also don't have any objection to second hand rather than new, I've always struggled with making a decision especially when there is so many options haha
  11. Evening all, I'm looking for a bit of advice/ nudging in the right direction I am looking to purchase my first RC in many years and I'm rather out of the loop on the whole brushless/ lipo situation and after searching the forum & multiple sales website I'm even more lost than when I started. I have had a look through the carnage mega thread and can't find the answers I require. First of all I was tempted by the ftx carnage/ bugsta brushed version until I saw the brushless version which took my interest further, giving me a few questions about this truck and also the technology in general. Is the carnage brushless the best value for money or is it worth investing in a more expensive model? If so what do you recommend? Am I right in saying that the limiting factor in going from 2s lipo to 3s lipo is the ESC? And the carnage is limited to 2s? I'm looking for a off-road truck for general bashing in the woods/ short grass/ BMX tracks ect, turning into something me and my son can enjoy playing with & repairing or hopping up. My young nephew's have recently got the brushed version of the carnage which is why I have gone straight to that model? I really don't want to sound like a newbie but we've all got to learn somewhere and I want to be sure I know what I'm getting in to? Thanks in advance Adam
  12. I definately recognise your name bud! Hope all is well with you! Looking forward to introducing my son to thrashing an RC around, thinking of ordering a ftx carnage as a introduction back to the hobby
  13. Hi all hope everyone is well! After a long hiatus I am looking to return to the hobby and also return to msuk, I was a member a long time ago under Rc_nutta539 when I was an annoying teenager! Maybe some will remember me? currently looking at getting a electric off-road truck for some fun bashing around the woods/local bmx track etc. Anyway just thought I’d introduce myself, again 😁 Adam
