  1. I upgraded my receiver and transmitter with a flysky gt5. Certainly with a big motor setup you need the ability to modify the throttle expo setting which you can't really do with the stock traxxas radio. Much more controllable like stock but with far more power and speed.
  2. New to the forums, so, hi y'all from Las Vegas. I've had my Xmaxx for a few months now. Started off replacing some of the obvious bits, RPM rear carriers, CEN hinge pins, Max6, Traxxas metal gear servo, all SS bearings, some duratrax tires after one of the stockers exploded. But then after a fairly intense desert outing, my stock motor seized from a blown out motor bearing. Instead of wasting my time with warranty nonsense, I decided to swap in a CC 1717 1260KV. That lasted one bash session and the tekno pinion i was using disintegrated and jammed, effectively seizing the motor and destroyed it. Was running 20T tekno hardened steel pinion and 50T GDS spur gear and they did me well with the stock motor. I've since moved on to a Max5 with HW 1100KV with some WFO d-bore mod 1.5 gears. Currently running 33/20, while I wait for 35/25 to show up. Because of the heat out here in the desert, I'm finding cooling to me somewhat problematic, so I'm testing dual blower fans on the motor, and I'm waiting for dual blowers for the esc. Both dual fan setups will be running of separate 3S Lipo packs. The weight of this beast is really getting up there at 30lbs which has me a little concerned, but whatever, yolo. I'm starting to move more in the direction of on road speed runs instead of bashing anyways. So far i havent done any serious testing until I get my dual blowers on the Max5. Apologies for the dirty Xmaxx in the pic, but out here in the desert, it's simply unavoidable. The two 3S packs will be attached above the battery trays with the straps. I've tried to maintain balance with the current placement. The power out of this motor is pretty ridiculous. In fact the whole project is ridiculous, but whatever.
