  1. Great video, always wanted to see how the serpent handles with the twin battery layout. I even used the same bmx track sometime ago before leaving it for largescale.
  2. Some may say the X4 is the better buy as its the later and up to date MCD rally on the market. The design is pretty much the same but parts are different between the two. I still have my proline rallies, 1 race spec and the rest are bashers. Some of the older rally parts have been discontinued and tyres can wear quick if your a drifter. But overall the proline is still a very good car, infact I decided to keep mine proline and not go for the X4. Common parts I broke whilst bashing/racing over a 3 year period. Plastic rose joints (cheap) shock shafts and shock forks. Front drive shaft (once). The rest was wear and tear on tyres and bodyshell. The rest of the car was fine as long as you look after it. Rossmods still have some spare parts for the proline but not always listed on their website. Theres also Kingcobra for parts. If your looking at the one on ebay then it looks like a mixture of the early rally car will some proline upgrades. The wheels are not the correct size as well. Hope this helps.
  3. I use to run these on my evo3 on grass http://b2b.kingcobra.co.uk/product/8163/MCD_Multistud_Tyres_with_Fillers_Soft_Blue_Spot

    WOW!

I have got the same samba pipe, I think I should have two of them both in different conditions. I should be racing at NDOR in two weeks so I could bring it with me if you remind me. I usually race at nene too but the winter series has just finished so Im not sure when Im there next. you can pm me for more details. Ticky
  5. I was there too but only on Sunday. I marshalled the first 4wd round in the morning just after the track had been re-freshed and levelled. I was looking foward to my round which was an hour later. When I got back the track to race it looked totally different with trenches, humps and bumps everywhere, very difficult to drive on. My friend toasted his clutch after using the wrong gears, lasted two laps. Then in the semi popped a ball joint out the lower wishbone. I was very lucky to bring my car home in one piece plus managed 5th in the A final. I did not expect to even qualify. ticky
  6. Oh forgot to mention you need to file or dremel the lower part of the crank case on the engine so its clears the rear center drive shaft.
  7. Gears - 30/33 26/23 or 30/33 25/24 as long as the first combo (A+B gears add to 66) and the second (c+d gears add to 49). Then you can swap the gears around to get the ratio you want depending on more bottom or top end performance. I would use a large zip tie on the front lower and upper wishbones to keep them tight as a common problem with mine was the ball joint popping out on heavy landings (front hub side). Shocks can leak more than wanted so keep and eye on them. I upgraded to elcon shocks with 5mm non stepped shafts. Standard shock shafts can snap on heavy rolls and tumbles so just be wary. Other than that my evo3 was good fun until I got my v4. I ran mine with 3 rhino servos or you can use the hitec 5755 or 5765? Make sure you get decent fuel line along with a kcr wing fuel filter for the tank and make sure the fuel lid is vented. Ticky
  8. What are your plans with your v4, you bashing or racing? I am racing with mine along with 3 other of mcd friends at nene valley raceway (winter series) theres about 7 mcds racing there. My v4 is similar spec to ft but was originally a comp that i modified along the way. My shocks have 6mm shafts and have full alloy front and rear diff cases along with alloy gear carrier. the diffs are not as bad as most make out, its the plastic housing and heavy landings that can cause the damage as well as poorly mesh diffs and gears. Get yourself on the mcdrc.com forum there will be plenty of info on there.
  9. http://www.freeprawnracing.co.uk/hitec-hs-5765-mh-digital-mega-1-4-scale-servo-2219520.html 3 of these would work fine as for being the best how much money do you want to spend. I have rhino digi in one of my mcd's and they work fine but cost me more money. My other mcd's have the hitecs which have also worked fine HS5755MG. I cannot tell the difference in performance between the rhino and hitecs. Mine have lasted well over a year now and maybe more. The internals are pretty much the same between the two and from what I can remember its just the casing on the rhinos that has extra support in the top case. The ones I have linked are the high voltage version and more up-to date, on the plus side you can use a smaller 2700mah lipo to run them. Ticky
  10. Great days racing. I finish 2nd in the 4wd finals, tbh I thought I was not going to make it to the end as my engine developed a fault within the last 12 mins. I could only use half throttle otherwise it would slow down on full throttle so just continued with what i had to finish. The facilities at nene where good just need to sort some wellingtons as it was muddy as hell in the car park. Just like to that Darren and Nigel for a good event. See you at the next one. Ticky
  11. As Mike has pointed out your more than likely bashing it too hard. The shock shaft are 5mm thick with a step down threaded section for the shock fork which is 4.5mm. Some people are using 6mm shafts non stepped but you need to do some other mods to get them to fit. Have a look on mcdrc.forum plenty off info on there. Ticky
  12. Just got back nene today from practice session so hopefully should be pre-booking in soon for the supercup, just trying to convinced 3 others. Ticky
  13. I'm fine thanks With the largescale offroad stuff we have been using the Nene valley raceway track near santa pod. We go on the Sunday open days (once or twice a month) which is great for practice. Hopefully once we get up to a decent standard we will start racing there on club race days. Its so much better than bashing around plus you come home with a clean car. Rostrum, astro turf, timing etc track. Its not that busy so great open track, mixed cars nitros and largescale. Tracks big enough to cater for all. You will have to try the indoor racing aswell its good fun plus with the cold winter coming up its great to be in the warm indoors. Some of our Wednesday drivers are very talented so it good to see if you can keep up. It all helps in making you a better driver. Ticky
  14. Birmingham Wheels is finished, the council have decided to build houses or something else? This may not happen straight away but we have been told that we can no longer use the area. We have taken most of our track stuff away and setup indoor racing track instead. Micros and 1/10 buggys at Collingwood centre, Kingstanding on Wednesday nights instead. They are running touring cars indoor once a month on Saturdays too. Ticky
  15. Ive just emailed my friend about your motor so hopefully he will get in touch.
  16. Heres mine http://i302.photobuc...008/losi007.jpg Inolab servo ezrun 60amp esc Gens ace 2s 1800mah lipos rpm rods links carisma gt14b shock ends and tops phat body and wing alluminium hinge pin holders and the rest pretty much standard and good enough for racing at my local club, just need some more practice to get consistant laps times.
  17. Yes it is bad new was speaking to Roger about it but there are loads of other places to try.
  18. Yes will see you there, apparently the weather forecast looks good for Sunday.
  19. I thought it was a really good day. Some funny weather as well. I agree need a bit more space for the larger scale stuff. All of my guys like it, as it's been like moving housing constantly so it's good to have a local permanent spot. Yeah we need a dirt 1/8 track set up soon would be good to race them all together. Im still trying to get all the tangle grass off the driveshafts. Theres a few more guys that I know who could not make it (all truggies owner too) We could also use wood pallets stacked to build a stair type rostrum. A jcb digger would be pretty useful now. I think setting up a Facebook account with buzzard valley racers would be a good central point for communication between members/bashers discussing ideas/work for the track. When I drove the hyper st for the first time on brushless there was no turning back to nitro, Mind you still got my hyper 9 just not bought any nitro fuel for ages. See you next sunday, Not sure if any of the guys made any vids.
  20. I will make sure my lipos are charged, hopefully its dry tomorrow, Yes the area is great 5 minute drive from mine so cannot complain. I will tell 3 of my friends to bring there truggies, mind you I reckon they will also bring there 1/5 for back up. It should help in making some lanes. See you later.
  21. I reckon after mid-day possible 1 to 2 ish weather permitted
  22. Well just got back and found couple of the guys working already. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/ticky2008/tcom013.jpg Ticky
  23. Ill bring hyper st pro brushless if you bring d8t? Just going over today to see what the areas like (no cars with me) The weather is up and down lately even the forecast are wrong sometimes what can we do? just hope its ok.
