  1. rite, iv stripped it all down and tried oiling it up, but it made it worse, so i ge-greaced everything and it was the same, but when i was looking at the one way bearing, i noticed a crack from where the bearing is all the way to the end of the fan... so thats ****ed then... think ill leave it a while cus im skint then see if theres one on ebay or if not ill try find a new one. thanks for the help ladies much appreciated Brad.
  2. the engine is fine bud, iv had it running twice since i got it out the shed. iv had a look inside the engine from the exhaust port and it all looks fine, no rust in sight, thankfully, the fuel, carb, tubes and engine where my first port of call when i got it out the shed.
  3. Top man thanks for that, my engine is the standard hyper 7 21. engine, dont know anything else about it, but im sure i can find out is it just a case of stripping everything behind the back plate down and re-oiling everything and see if that works?
  4. cheers pal, ill give that a go tomorrow, if it dosen't work, any ideas where i can get a new bearing set from?
  5. hi all, its been a while since the last time i posted. just pulled the hyper 7 out the shed after about 9 months of not using it, so i ditched the fuel left in the tank, emptied the carb, made sure all the tubes where clean, all the usual stuff... now my trouble starts! i fitted a roto start kit to it about 12 months ago cus i got sick and tired of snapping the pull string and re making it. it worked brilliantly when i had it, and when i was using it before i put it away. but now when i put the shaft into the roto socket doo-dar, and pull the trigger on my starter, it will just about turn the engine over ounce, maybe even twice if im lucky, then it will just spinn, and very slowly turn the engine over every 2 seconds ish. i took the engine off the chassis, and cleaned all the roto stuff up and got all the oil off everything, then re-assembled it all. but still no change, so im thinking its the 1 way bearing/shaft that comes off the crank. is there an off the shelf replacement or any tricks of the trade i can try? or will i need to make a new one up? Thanks Brad.
  6. its the same stuff you see hanging from the pull chord light switches in bathrooms n shower rooms, go to B&Q and buy a crappest pull chord light switch u can find and ud get about 3 to that
  7. what if i get a high torque engine and gear it low with a 3 speed box XD
  8. i used insulation tape, and a word of warning, id leave about half the rubber exposed as i did mine with a thin strip on either side n every time i touched the throttle it was spinning, thats without even turning at all. ow and make sure you use a good amount cus i only wrapped it twice n spent like 20 mins picking bits off :@
  9. i wana get 2 head lights on the 2 wholes in the front bumper of my hyper7,, i wana get the same sorta results as you get from the LED key fod things with super bright LEDS any one done this before?
  10. just tape up the rear tyres, youve got no chance of controlling it... lol tryin to get off the road wen cars r cumin wiv taped up tyres ent fun, especially wen as soon as ya touch the throttle ya spinn lol
  11. cus...i just do, i recon it would be fun, try make the fastest hyper and i like what ziggy said about the .32
  12. Exactly what the title says, with as little mods as poss, cus i CBA XD
  13. when my dad drove mine into the sea, i taped up the filter, took the battery off and blasted it with hot water then swung it about for 10 mins and used like 1/2 a big tin of WD40 on it, make sure its EVERYWHERE and take the servos covers off, enough to get air in and moisture out n wack em in an airing coupboard or on a radiator for a while. and keep an eye on ya breaks cus mine are utterly crap since mine turned into a sub-merine
  14. is there any other way? my throttle is digital, its either on, or off, no half way on mine XD
  15. put a set of road tyres on the rear and keep the stock on the front, trust me....its fun!!! just try to avoid kick backs cus ull end up flipping about if u do what i did and give it full bore down a huge field and wack on full lock and try driftin, dont get me wrong its funi but theres somthing kinda twisted about watchin £300 ish pound heading towards a brick wall in the air flipping about but it dose drain the fuel even more so than usual cus of the un neccessary spinnage on the rear
