  1. Cheers for that and had a look at your one for sale and giving it some thought as I was going to get the blue one delivered for £90 whilst it’s in the sale.
  2. Could someone please confirm the measurments of the battery tray as I want to see which batteries to buy for it.
  3. Ok thanks for confirming. Can get one of these trucks for £96 at the moment or wait for the TRX4m but that’s £180 so don’t know if it’s worth the extra keep watching loads of youtube vids of both and want both 😆
  4. Those who got one what do you think of them as i'm contempolating getting one when back in stock however the esc fires are a litt;e concerning! And what run time do you get out of it?
  5. Cheers for the reply and confirming that's not too bad but was hoping to try and get a battery that will last an hour minimum - we are used to 3 hours out of our 1:10 trucks so spoilt for run time. Is a 2200 the largest capacity you can realisically fit in the truck?
  6. Great thread as considering one of these or a TRX4m but prefer 1/16 over 1/18 and one of these is half the price of the 4m. What battery run time can you get from a 2s lipo?
  7. Thanks I'll have a look - we did go out today on the forest and found some steep muddy banks and waterlogged rough ground so had a bit of fun.
  8. Hi does anyone know of good steep hilly and difficult ground to take crawlers on in the Southampton area? I'm over in the New Forest and it's just so flat it's very difficult to find anywhere to take the crawlers to actually challenge them and have fun. My Son has the FTX Outback Fury and I have the Hi-Rock and we really want to put them (us) to their capabilities as opposed to just flat muddy paths in the forest.
  9. Nice one guys thanks for confirming so that pin should be small enough to go through the hole on the trailer. I'll get that ordered. This is for my Son at christmas as he has been on about a trailer ever since he got his truck so just want to make sure I can have it up and running with no further parts needed 👍😎
  10. Thanks how does it work with the trailer end? Thanks I do like the look of that one just wondering how it screws on where the current rod end is. As you can tell i'm not clued up on any mods and inventiveness on how to get things to work!
  11. Thanks for the replies. I'm looking at the connection on the trailer: I've messaged the seller on aliexpress to see if they can say what the part is for the truck to hook this onto as I want it looking good and not tape lol. It looks like you could drill through the bumper and attach it via a small pin but surely when they make these trailers they must also have a part in mind that will work to attach it to the truck you are buying it for!
  12. Just bought this for my Son as he has gone on about a trailer for ages: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000356915037.html He has an FTX Outback Fury so what part do I need to buy that will allow the trailer to attach to the rear bumper of the Fury?
  13. Excellent! We haven't used ours over Summer and waiting for the rain and the mud to return to get out and get filthy on trails 😎 And yes the lipo batteries still amaze me now, was out walking the dog and my Son took his car and people were saying that will have to be carried home soon they couldn't believe when I said he gets 3 hours runt time out of the battery and the dog walk is no problem for it. I'd love one of the small scale crawlers like an outback mini 3 but the tiny battery life stops me buying one.
  14. Yeah my mate had the Hotshot. They were great cars at the time I remember running them full pelt at speed bumps to get air 😁
  15. Thanks yes that's the issue I keep thinking about - I want long run times but don't want to burn the motor/esc out! 20 minutes is OK and probably twice the run time of the 959/979 but 30 minutes is my holy grail for run times on smaller scale/cheap end of the market. Possibly moon on a stick time 😁
  16. Could you please confirm what run time you get from that 2600mah battery as I can order a 144001 with that battery included from Banggood but need to know what runtime it would give before buying.
  17. That's brilliant thanks but yours is a lot longer chassis than the 144001 so if you had trouble i'm thinking there is no way it's going to fit in a 144001? If I could get 30+ minutes run time i'll order right now! However i'm still looking as to what the maximum size battery will realistically fit the 144001 so can see if it will be worth it as I don't want less than 30 minutes run time.
  18. 12 minutes perhaps i'm remembering wrong but I do know the only thing I modded on my Boomerang was the best battery I could afford.. I now want a cheap basher with lipo and long run times for taking down the park!
  19. What run times are you getting on the various size batteries? I'm tempted with one of these instead of trying to get longer run times out of my A959 as I have a 5000mah 2s lipo which by the sounds of it will work in this car? It gives huge run times on a trail truck so what would it give on something like this bashing about on grass in a park? Edit - just measured my lipo and its 135mm so won't fit the battery tray.
  20. Thanks Redback yes he did he is over the moon with his Outback Fury and I have to say for the price it was (paid £187) it is superb and seems pretty much the same as the Hi Rock with a few bells and whistles left off and obviously a less detailed shell - but he loves the look which is all that matters. It is also considerably faster flat out than the Hi Rock so assuming it's higher geared. Again good for him as he has pretty much got a trail truck and basher in one. We did steep muddy banks out of streams and the Fury went up and down them equally as well as the Hi Rock so he is a very happy 11 year old! That extra protection you have on yours looks good I have no idea how to do that! Do you buy the rubber tube and then place it over the rod and then just heat it up? I have already found the part and ordered last night, just over £6 delivered so can't really moan but also contacted where I bought it from as I don't think it should have broke on it's first run certainly didn't take any knocks or rolls etc so waiting to see what they say/offer. Oh and the 5000mah 2s lipo he had lasted roughly 2 hours 50 minutes run time which is more than I was expecting and again super impressed and the RC6 charger charges them from flat in 81 minutes. This is all so very different to when I had Tamiya RC as a kid - 20 minutes run time and hours waiting for the battery to charge!
  21. Finally got there and went out with both cars tonight. Thanks for the replies on this thread help me make my mind up as to what to get: Had a brilliant time going through streams and forest tracks and then this happened It caught on brambles but shear metal? I don't think that's right and shouldn't have happened after only 45 minutes of light driving. What do you think? Do they break that easily?
  22. Cheers again and yeah i'm the same, I last had electric rc cars when it was the original Tamiya Boomerang and Monster Beetle so nearly 35 years ago lol and a LOT has changed since then as i'm finding out. I wish I still had the Boomerang as that could have made a good base for upgrades now - I sold it on ebay for £50 as spares/repairs years ago what a mistake 🤦‍♂️ And yeah hoping it's worth the money I watched enough youtube videos so can't wait to get it out on some trails with my Son - will have to just run it around the garden this afternoon.
  23. You my friend are an absolute star! The receiver is hidden underneath waterproof plastic casing so I thought well i've got nothing to lose so undid the screws lifted the boxing and got to the receiver and held the button in and bingo!!!!!! Nowhere in the instructions does it say to do this! Having re-read the instructions it does say to press the receiver button but I took that mean to just turn the car on as it doesn't mention taking the waterproof housing off to get to the receiver! Lesson number 1 learnt - not just a case of switching it on and expecting it to work although my Son's FTX Outback Fury did and didn't have do anything to bind it it just worked out the box. THANK YOU!!!! This is why I joined this forum for the incredible wealth of knowledge and VERY helpful people 😎👍
  24. Just opened it, set jumper to lipo plugged in battery switched it on then the handset and it doesn't bind. The ESC beeps and flashed red so it's on and in bind mode and the handset has it's light on but they just won't see each other. Any suggestions? I think it's faulty which is just my luck. I've turned them both off numerous times and tried again, disconnected battery to reset everything and removed batteries from handset and reseated and nothing has worked.
