  1. Ah, OK, yeah, so I only got springs for the rears. Might get another set so I can do the fronts as well on mine. MT seems to be OK (fingers crossed). edit: MT is not OK, but will cross that bridge later ๐Ÿ˜„ As for diff. oil, I asked Modelsport for some for when I replaced the MT front diff. I just said give me whatever they suggested and they've sent a small tub of Schumacher U1300 which is axle grease. His instructions were to just give the gears a light coat and job done...not sure if that's entirely right like. But yes, I've read 50k front and 30k rear as well.
  2. Did you change all the springs or just 2? ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  3. So, I just got a bunch of replacement parts delivered (Modelsport, mint delivery times, and service AGAIN! Highly recommend them lads and lasses). So should be able to fix everything now ๐Ÿ™‚ .
  4. Oooh, let me know how those work. I was looking at getting some for the Quantum ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. A load of parts to fix the Quantumโ€™s ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜…
  6. Whatโ€™s classed as โ€œdamageโ€ to a hard case LiPo? After a few runs, Iโ€™ve had scratches etc. but also noticed this on one? Itโ€™s been strapped in fine etc. itโ€™s not raised up or indented either? Just somewhat deformed?
  7. Itโ€™s a different metal. Thatโ€™s why you canโ€™t see the difference.
  8. It's a different metal. Maverick Quantum Flux axle bend/wobble issue fix & HD axles! - YouTube 5:15 on this video as well mate. He shows you the difference between the two. Not loads in them, but enough to make a difference by all accounts.
  9. I think for the ยฃ20 or so it costs it's probably no worth arguing over. Suppose to make working on them much easier. You can lock them into place and rotate them as needed as well. Just hope the Fastrax one is decent ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. There's only a subtle difference between the two and it has to do with the amount of material on the shaft. They look identical otherwise. I'm sure there was a video floating around that shows the differences. You may be able to see which ones you had then.
  11. Looks ace that. How do you like that stand? I ordered a same but in black and am waiting for it to arrive ๐Ÿ˜„ can't wait really, hoping it makes working on the cars much easier, especially as I tend to take 1 wheel off, do what needs done then replace etc. ๐Ÿ˜„ Managed to snap my PLA 3D printed arms. Same weak spot as originals. Also not a good day in general for RC for us yesterday. 4WD is now only 2WD on the MT of the Quantum Flux. Must be front diff.? Also snapped more body posts etc.
  12. Wow...anyone see this? They now do a version with a 80A ESC...and all versions now come with HD axles and HD drive shafts... Maverick Quantum MT Flux 80A 1/10 4WD Monster Truck - Blue/Orange MV150202 (modelsport.co.uk) Maverick Quantum XT Flux 1/10 4WD Stadium Truck - Silver/Green MV150206 (modelsport.co.uk)
  13. 3D print not successful. Ran it fairly hard though. Few decent jumps, but nothing too major. Same snap. I wonder if it could have been from the slightly bent shock shaft as it was the same side where it broke and took a tumble from about a 5ft air jump bad landing ๐Ÿ˜… might see about 100% infill and trying ABS if I can get my mate to do it again. Otherwise, maybe just another PLA. also looks like weโ€™ve done something to the MT as itโ€™s now only 2WD
  14. To be fair mate, my friends printer is a really expensive one. I think he did 70% infill. Iโ€™ve read it probably should be more like 100, but will give it a bash. as for the pillow balls, he didnโ€™t put them in, I did. Thatโ€™s itโ€™s the same setup as stock. I just twisted the pillow ball mount into the arm until it stopped. Like I said, I tapped it out ever so slightly so I could get it started and then threaded in the pillow ball
  15. Nah mate, I think that looks alright! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Well done
  16. straightened up my bent shock. Not too badly for my first time Iโ€™d say. Tested it out and all working fine. Just need my HD ones to arrive. Also fixed the broken suspension arm with some PLA 3D printed ones. Tight fit, had to shave down a little bit where the shocks fit in and also the pillow ball joints as well, but all back together now. These suspension parts do seem much stronger.
  17. So the 3D printed PLA ones are now installled. Theyโ€™re actually 2 grams lighter than the standard and they do seem a bit beefier. The spacers that were in on the suspension arms are removed as the arms are a tight fit. I did have to drill out a tiny amount for the pillow balls and also file down where the shocks sit ever so slightly. Might just be a printing thing. File seems alright though. My mate who did the printing also said he changed something (Iโ€™ll try and find out what, think it was an infill?) to make them a bit stronger. Looks good though, and the red and the green compliment each other actually ๐Ÿ˜‚ also bent the shock back in so that itโ€™ll run no bother hopefully. Gave it a quick push down test and all seems ok ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปOverall, think they do seem a bit beefier, especially where the stress fractures are at
  18. Impact tests mate. Try a local University with an engineering department. If you were local, I'd probably be able to get us into University of Sunderland to try it. Could potentially run all sorts of them. I'm surprised no one else has tried these yet to be honest. They're very close to Metsalfi's design if I'm honest. I've seen a few more floating around now as well with different designs. Someone in Poland just did a anodized aluminium version (Upper & lower suspension arms - for Maverick Quantum RC car | eBay) Pricey though... If I convince the wife on this, will look to print in carbon fiber filaments...
  19. Of course. I haven't got them yet. Arranged to meet my friend to pick them up on Friday. I'll get the scales out and weigh them then. Looking at grabbing a cheap 3D printer now (wife is seriously not impressed with the mention of it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜‚) Have to say massive thanks to the guys above posts for the Dropbox link with the .stl files ( @Loboo, @foxycub, @paul_111).
  20. Printing done. Only PLA as the ABS extruded broke. Guessing these will be super brittle, but worth a try I suppose ๐Ÿ˜…
  21. Aye mate, I've got one ramp which I'm tempted to bring out, but I don't think it's big enough to hit with just the 1. It is difficult to film things by yourself. I've found that out. I had a mint video of me bashing the XT around and hit a decent jump, but I checked the footage and my son had his fingers over the lens! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  22. Ah right, fair dues. Like I said, just noticed the jump was extremely similar to the one you made ๐Ÿ™‚ Got someone I know to print me off a few sets of the arms. They're printing now. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  23. @Loboo@foxycub@paul_111 Many thanks for the .stl files. Going to see if I can print a few of them off now. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ How did they end up running? @Hell horn.did you post a video on Facebook not so long ago? Noticed the guy had a jump that looks very similar to yours and was jumping a blue/orange Quantum Flux ๐Ÿ™‚
  24. Yes, only loctite metal to metal. Plastic doesn't like loctite. I'd suggest the servo horn screw and the little grub screw that goes into the driveshaft. See my thread for photos if you need them ๐Ÿ™‚ Can also send you some more on Facebook as I saw you on there ๐Ÿ˜„ Got some new bits today. The new HD steering turnbuckles. Will probably wait to fit them if I can manage with the current. Also got the Quantum+ springs for the rear shocks. Might give them a try soon as well. I really need to change the shock oil in these I think as the still bounce about a bit. Not too bad, but not the best. Will see how much I need to disassemble things.
