  1. Did I not post it in here? Might be on my build thread. Basically, get some 6mm internal diameter tube, 8mm OD, some wall plugs, cut to 28cm, stuck the wall plugs in and then put two bolts through the diff mounts and Bob's your Uncle. Yeah, think if memory serves you remove the bottom skid plate, then the screws to release the motor and I took it off that way.
  2. I got mine from my work. But just Google them. I'm sure I saw them on Amazon. I think someone linked them in the Quantum Flux thread M5 x 12mm Flat Washer Zinc (FWMZ.5) | From Co-Star M5x12.5x1.00mm Mild Steel Form C Flat Washer - Orbital Fasteners
  3. Hmmm, I was told not to because of the sand. Am tempted now, think it'd be a blast if I'm honest. Wouldn't run it through the salt water though. Think if I were to do it, I'd get one of those dusty covers first.
  4. Ok, what's the deal. I was under the impression beach and sand = stay away. We live close to a beach and would love to take the cars down, but I don't want to ruin them...
  5. To be honest, I think they're fantastic as well. For me the radio wasn't an issue as it's our first RCs, so they were fine. 1/10th being slightly bigger doesn't bother me as well, as it's something I wouldn't have known. But overall, I'd agree and for me again, just the few minor things like the M5 washers mod and grub/servo horn screw need doing, but ours have been fairly solid (knock on wood), and I think they're great for the price. I agree about the colour as well, it's really grown on me as originally we really liked the blue/orange scheme too. To be fair, even some of the standard Quantum's look nice (pink is cool) too and it's one of the reasons why I chose this over say a FTX Carnage. I loved the looks of it much more than those around the same price range. At any rate, hope you enjoy it 🙂
  6. If suggest doing the wheel spacers and chassis brace first before a run for how long it takes. 👍🏻😊 looks good though!
  7. I just got some M2-M5 screws and T nut sets yesterday as well.
  8. They changed the prices around, must have realised 😄 GOLDBAT 5200mAh RC Battery 7.4V 50C 2S LiPo Battery with Deans Plug for RC Evader BX Car Truck Truggy Buggy Helicopter Airplane Car Racing (Hardcase): Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games GOLDBAT RC Lipo Battery 3S 5200mah 50C 11.1V Rechargeable Soft Case with Deans Plug and XT60 Connector for Helicopter RC Airplane RC Car Airplane Drone: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games
  9. Anyone have an experience with "Goldbat" LiPos? Seen some in the Prime Day sales, 5200 3S LiPo for £19...bit dubious on it.
  10. I think they all come with the HD upgrades now. Only difference between 2 is the amp rating on the ESC. To be honest, a few small upgrades and I've not had many issues once you do the small little upgrades. Ones I'd highly recommend would be the washer upgrade, the HD upgrades obviously that now come with all Flux (within reason), and maybe switch the shocks out, but my son's has been running fine on standard. Only other upgrades would be the chassis brace, shock and diff fluids, and I think they're decent little cars.
  11. Highly suggest it if you can. First time out where I actually went out with the intention of not babying it about loads (was launching it off a small hill actually 😄 about 2-4 ft. of air depending on the speed I hit it at, closer to 2 more of the time) and surprisingly nothing broke. My son kept landing his on the roof and nothing. Seems to really strengthen the chassis up. Would be so simple to make from factory as well, so I'm surprised they don't include it really.
  12. Nope, think it's a good idea though 🙂 I struggled working on my 1/10 scale until I got the little turntable thing. Much easier so I can imagine that would be better as well. 🙂 Good luck! Looks mint
  13. Piano, keyboard, tomato, tomato (read that differently 😄). You know what I mean
  14. I volunteer my child for the trial 😄 Have to say though, that post really blew me away...I'll get me coat...
  15. Is that...a piano stand? holding that up for the photo? Looks mint like.
  16. I know what it is! 😄 Only because he reminded me in another thread
  17. Baby steps 😅 I have that Overlander charger and it's fine for what I use it for (charging up 4 batteries before). I'm new to RC as well @Liamgreg1 and that works fine 😉🙂
  18. the hood (sorry, my American showing...I mean "bonnet") coming off at the beginning hahaha! Some cool edits and shots there for sure. Thought the wheels might come off on a few of them!
  19. No, it should come with one. Honestly though, if you can spare the extra £10 or so, I'd get the Overlander charger. It's much better charger for the price. No maths or guesswork involved for storage charge on batteries when you're finished.
  20. That battery won't work unless you ask them to change the end (I think they can do that, but I'm not sure) Sorry, just realised I didn't reply to your question about the charger. I have this one which is good: Overlander VSR-Mini AC LiPo Balance Charger 60W 6A 0003249 (modelsport.co.uk) It's pretty self explanatory. I like how it automatically stops and gives off a sound when it's finished. It has all the modes on it as well. I also have this one: Etronix Powerpal Peak Plus AC NiMH, LiPo 1/3/5A Charger ET0209 (modelsport.co.uk) It's alright, but just has 2 LED lights that change colour when it's finished, and there's not storage mode etc. I tend to use it to just charge my batteries up to take out. Also, I'd suggest using one of these so you can safely and easily fit your LiPo in a LiPo safe bag whilst charging: Etronix 2S 30cm Balance Lead Extension Wire ET0245 (modelsport.co.uk) Etronix 3S 30cm Balance Lead Extension Wire ET0246 (modelsport.co.uk) You'll need one of these to prevent potential fires etc. as well: Arrowmax Lipo Safe Bag (185x75x 60mm) AM199502 (modelsport.co.uk) I have two of them and they can fit around 3/4 of the Core RC batteries in no problem.
  21. Yeah, think that will be the key. Thanks for the tip. I really want a 1/8 or 1/5, but I think my wife would kill me 😄 she already hates that we've got 2 and I've taken over the spare room 😄 I'm looking at the 1/16th Breaker drift truck as well 😄
  22. Anything with a Deans connection on it pal. Just have a search under the 2S/3S and use the filters to put a Deans connection on. RC Cars, Remote Control Cars and Radio Controlled Cars from Modelsport UK I've got these ones. Last about 20 minutes running on large grass fields Core RC 4000mAHr 7.4v 30/60C 2s LiPo CR293 (modelsport.co.uk) I'd recommend something with a hard case personally as well. Another note. Little upgrade costs about £13 all in for both of our Quantum's and still have a bit of tubing left over. Seems to really improve the strength of the cars, 6mm internal diameter tube and 8mm outer, 6mm wall plugs, cut to 28cm and stick it in. Holes are already there on diff/body post mount housing 🙂
