  1. Afternoon Folks, What's everyone using for rear tyres for general bashing on tarmac? I'm eating through Ground Assault's like there's no tomorrow! In the HPI manual they've got HPI 4450 and 4451 but these seem to be long time discontinued...
  2. Anyone got a link to a decent metal waterproof servo for the Firestorm? Just rebuilding one so now's the time to stick a metal one in.
  3. Morning All, Looking to get a pair of cheap indoor RC cars for me and the boy to use in the living room. We've got some that are powered by AA batteries but i'm getting sick and tired of replacing them all the time so want something USB rechargeable really. I've found these on Amazon: SZJJX Remote Control Car High Speed RC Cars 2.4Ghz 1:20 Fast Racing Drifting Buggy Hobby Electric Car Vehicle for Kids Boys Girls Gift (Green): Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games Anything better for the money as I'd need a pair so we can both race 🙂 ? Thanks, Ali
  4. I went with the overlander mini+ which seems pretty decent. In hindsight I wish I'd spent a bit more and got one that could charge 2 batteries at the same time. Depends how many batteries you'll be charging before you go out.
  5. Hi guys. Just got my old Tamiya Nitro TGS XBG out of the loft. It's on eBay so could be handy for spares or even a restoration project? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamiya-TGS-XBG-Nitro-Roller-/303923863430?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  6. I got some ZEEE lipos from Amazon. Seem pretty decent and always handy with next day delivery.. 🙂
  7. Thanks guys for all your input. I'll maybe get something a bit more robust and that the local shop keeps spares of!
  8. Amazon Prime. I bought 2 Zeee Lipos, next day delivery and they've been spot on.
  9. Afternoon All, Looking to get my 6 year old a new RC car. He's got a small crawler that's a bit slow for him so want to get him something to use on tarmac and gravel for under £100? I'm looking at WLTOYS 124019 on banggood. Are there any other recommendations?
  10. Amazing what a hobbywing combo and a few 2s lipos can do! Ran flawlessly after a few years in the loft!!
  11. Thanks chaps, yeah I won't be going more than 2s lipo. I remember it was eating up tyres on the old 7 cell NiMH batteries!! @locky I was just looking at that combo as the sc8 seems to be discontinued or Chinese copies which i'd like to stick away from!
  12. Afternoon Guys, After some advice. I've just pulled my old Firestorm 10T Flux out of the loft after having some ESC issues a few years back. I'd like to resurrect the old girl rather than buy a new RTR kit although if the upgrades compare to a new kit maybe that's the way forward... Anyway, it's got the original Warp 5700KV motor and the Flux Motiv ESC, so i'd like to move to a new ESC, so maybe Hobbywing? Is there any motor and ESC combo's that people recommend for around £100? It's also still on 27MHZ with a rubbish controller so would like to move to 2.4GHZ, I was thinking of getting a DumboRC from banggood? Thanks, Ali
