Hey folks,
Hope you're all good.
I'm an RC noobie really just getting into it. I've currently got a Maverick Quantum Flux which breaks everytime I take it out (For Flux sake it's broke again!) but, i am having alot of fun with it. I bought it to see if i could get into RC and I'm so hooked already 😆 so I'm looking to change to something more substantial but not sure whether to go for the Granite (or Big Rock) or, spend the extra and go for a 6s jobbie. I wondered if you lot could share some wisdom?
I'm not a serious RC guy so no racing or anything like that. Just having some fun with mates, bashing about etc. Also, no plans to do any 40 mph skate park sends either.
I like the look of 6s for the durability and the scope to make it quicker in future (plus I just think they look awesome!) If i were to go for the 6s, I'd likely run it on 4s for a while until I was comfortable and then look at 6s in the future. I'd obviously run the 3s on 3s out the gate.
A 6s car with 2 4s batteries is £700+ while the 3s with batteries is £400. Is it worth double the price? Am I getting ahead of myself or is 6s a good idea for future proofing? I know it's difficult to answer as you don't know me or what I enjoy etc but I'd appreciate some experienced advice :)
I can 'afford' either as I've just sold some stuff but obviously I'd rather not spend more without it being for a valid reason etc.
Also, I've seen people mention 4s versions of the Kraton and Notorious but I can't seem to find them anywhere? Are they not available in the UK?
Cheers in advance,
Alex
