  1. Hi I didn't change anything. I bought the car at Christmas, and it came with LiPo. Steve
  2. Hi Hopefully you can help me - all fairly new to this I invested in a 'proper' charger so I could set the voltage etc for storage, as Ive read that the LiPO batteries are sensitive to how they've been treated/stored. Ive just come back from a run, where I let the battery run out (i.e. until the power dropped off the motor). Ive just plugged the battery into the charger and the charger states 'Low Voltage' and wont charge. It's a fairly new LiPO 2s 4000ml that's only been used a couple of times. I checked the voltage across the battery using my voltmeter and its saying 3.88. I've just been reading that LiPO cells should not be taken down below 3.0/3.1/3.2 (depends where you read) - so it would seem the battery is way below that given it's a 2S. I'm a bit flumxed. The car was running well, until the battery went. I thought the ESC (is that right?) has a battery cutoff. Could I have run the battery done that much? Given it's 3.88, it may be that one of the cells has gone or could I really have run them down to 1.9 each? Do cells just go like that or do they normally deteriorate slowly? Is there anyway to check the status of each cell? Thanks in advance Steve
  3. Chuckle - I had exactly the same q's myself. I used the same screws - it seems to be stable, and no - nothing fell out (I think all the other suspension bits held it there!) Before hand I bought these - just in case. Ended up using these to fix the bumper to the frame extension https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A6ED8MM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JW9LRSV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Having done it, and also had to rebuild one of the suspension arms after a crash, I feel a bit more confident now. I could even imagine replacing the whole chassis if needed I took a million photos as I went just so I could refer back in case...... Good luck Steve
  4. Hi Here's a wider shot. I've added some rubber protection to the bumper fixed using plastic cable ties, so you cant see the fixing of the bumper to the extension. For that I had to dril a couple of new holes in the extension bit (the bit you were going to chop off), as the holes don't line up. Need to therefore use bolt/nuts to do that as screws dont self tap. Ive no idea how well the rubber will work - but I run my car in woods and there's load of small (and large!) twigs and branches etc., so it 'may' afford some protection. Doesn't look that pretty - but hey - I'm going for the Mad Max look. I'll post a photo when the rubber disappears - which I'm sure wont be too long! Steve
  5. Hi I did it the other way round - and needed to put the ridges off. Photo attached. Not the neatest job but it seems faily secure. Steve
  6. Hi Lenny It looks like the fixing holes on the bumper dont align with the extention piece. How did you solve that? I'm thinking I might drill a new hole and use a nut/bolt (I dont think I can tap a hole) Thanks in advance Steve
  7. I'm already wondering about upgrading some parts to AL, but from the brief reading Ive done it seems there are two camps.... either dont bother as the 'plastic' ones are cheap and easy to replace, versus doing the upgrades (but be aware that you may simply be moving the problem down the chain so to speak). Seems you've had a good experience with the upgrade Lenny
  8. Front wheel and suspension etc. ! Just ordered what I hope are all the right parts - really looking forward to seeing if I can actually mend it............
  9. Thanks Lenny. I've order a selection of screws so I'll see what works....................I'll let you know what worked I ended up driving into a goal post so I now have to do a more major surgery - so I'll no doubt need those extra screws
  10. Hi Lenny(?) I would appear to have done the same thing on my first run (hit a low kerb). This is my first car and I was always expecting to do some running repairs - but replacing the whole chassis does feel a bit scary, so I think I will try this first. (and I like the idea that it would be a replacebale part). If I may ask a couple of basic questions. I think from the pictures below I would need to use the 4 screws as indicated. I also think that from the exploded picture these are FTX6536. - Flat head screws 3*10. Now for the stupid question - I'm guessing I'd need to replace these screws with something a little longer - 3*12? And the next stupid question - is it important that these are FTX? I'm guessing a screw is a screw, but since I need to order these I'd prefer to know I'm getting the right thing, rather than trial and error. Thanks in advance Steve
