  1. Thanks for that. No luck, unfortunately. I wonder if the motor is kaput...?
  2. Hi all! It's been a while since I've had to bother you all with a plea for help. Apologies in advance. My son was playing with his stock-spec brushed Carnage 2.0, when - if he is to be believed - it just stopped. So - no forward / reverse, but steering is OK. A red light flashes on the ESC when you try and accelerate, but.. nothing, No visible loose wires / dodgy connections. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks for all your help 🙂
  3. Thanks, Steve. A couple of daft questions if you don't mind... Did you just re-use the existing screws? If I lie the car on its back while I do this, will everything pretty much stay in place during the work..? Thanks so much.
  4. Thanks, Steve - would you mind posting a wider shot of that, please?
  5. Thanks - that sounds like a bigger job than what @lennylogknob and @Jens suggested...?
  6. Hi all! The bits have finally arrived for my Carnage 2.0 (new bumper, and the Vantage chassis front part, that I'm hoping to fit to work around the broken front end of my chassis kindly suggested by @lennylogknob and @Jens. Just before I let myself loose on it, can I just confirm a couple of things..? You'll need to make the not-unreasonable assumption that I'm stupid and cack-handed 😄 The way I understand it is that I need to cut the replacement part roughly along the dotted line, and I can then screw the new bit over the old bit. Is that right? If so, a couple of questions: What am I in for when I remove the screws indicated by the arrows? Will it all remain pretty intact, or is it all going to fall to bits? Will the screws be long enough when I but them back in with the new plate added to the equation? Jens (I think) suggested earlier that there would be four screws holding the chassis to the gearbox. From what I can see here, there will only be two (the ones mentioned above). Is that right? Thanks again, everyone 🙂
  7. ...for now, I've gone the superglue route. Until it happens again.
  8. Ha ha... I bet this is a regular thing just after Christmas every year. An influx of newbies (myself included) desperate for help...
  9. Thanks, Lenny (and @Jens) - you're both being incredibly helpful. I'll look at these two options, but if the chassis swap can be done like you say, with the whole thing remaining largely intact, I reckon that's be within my abilities. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again!
  10. I did consider this, but assumed it was probably a silly idea. Is it definitely worth doing in the short term?
  11. Cheers, Jens! Yep, lesson learned. I thought we were in a space big enough to avoid obstacles, but he managed to find the only one 😞 The intention was always to do repairs myself, but I was hoping to avoid anything major in the short term. Ha ha.
  12. ....alternatively, if anyone is aware of someone near Tyneside who could do the repair, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
  13. Appreciate the honesty. That's how it's looking to my untrained eye, too. I'm slightly stressed at the thought of the work involved, but how hard can it be? 😬 Is there any mileage in going for an aluminium chassis? I'm just wondering if the break at the front of the chassis is a bit of a weak spot.? Thanks for your help.
