Having only recently got back into this stuff, and wanting to try a 4WD buggy for the first time in my life, I've picked up a Hobbytech BXR S1. It seems to be good value for money, with a decent spec and components like an alloy chassis, brushless motor, etc. Ad I must admit, this is all a big change from when I last used a buggy!
The last buggy I had was a Tamiya Super Astute with a Kyosho Le Mans 240 motor and a few other upgrades (my first buggy was a Tamiya Striker - upgraded a lot, but still super fragile - followed by a Fox, which only lasted a while before it was stolen). The difference between my (hazy) memories of that and a modern 4WD setup - even a relatively budget minded one like the Hobbytech - is incredible. The speed and responsiveness are an order of magnitude better than anything I've tried before. If this is what the cheaper end of the market is like, then heaven knows what a properly set up Schumacher or Associated is like!
Has anyone else here got a BXR S1? If so, any thoughts on the best setups for general bashing about, or useful upgrades (yes, only just got it and already thinking about that!)
Cheers
