  1. Me bike is cheap and new to that and not looked at ratios yet. Though the motor on my bike is a beast. It run everyday for 150 days on the trot now 🤣🤣🤣 5k minimum. Actually had a good ride today, only 40 miles, but followed it with a 10 mile run!
  2. Oh nice. Got me tx16s yesterday and trying it on Sims. Omg it's hard. In acro mode (as level mode is apparently not as fun...) Ouch. Hoping to win an eBay auction for the ECv800d and a micro quad and then try inside first. Looking forward to first 5 inch build
  3. Welcome. A free nitro? Nice... I want nitro hah, will try brushless first
  4. Well it still working. What's a good brushed motor replacement anyways for the 1/10 tamiyas rwd. Think both got 19t pinions on and can take 17. What does that do btw? Which speed and which torque? Both cars got 1060 brushed ESCs in
  5. Cheers guys I rebuilt the back of the car last weekend (full strip down fresh grease etc). Maybe time to get some better motors though do have 2 spare stock 540s. Think was still working and had been working hard
  6. Just had a great session with the viper and mad bull around the fields. Had to stop it short though as on 2nd 3000mAh NiMah the mad bull started smoking a lot! Was the motor. Now the car been in a friend's attic for 10 years. And he bought it second hand so it's old old. Batteries new, ESC new (hobbyeong 1060l and radio new. So is the motor old/dead or... I have a couple.of spare motors so not an issue, bit does this happen with old motors?
  7. Must have been a good boy overnight as postie been kinder today
  8. RRYwr14FwjE Was expecting to be able to do something like this which the tamiya ESC allowed
  9. Saying exactly the same thing. How is it possible. Weird
  10. There's a guy on this thread https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/89306-hw-1060-esc-problem/
  11. Actually the viper only slightly better. Can't see how it can auto set with a 3 second pause with the throttle in neutral. Strange Tamiya ESC let you set it by doing one of the settings
  12. Yeah centered when turning on. Jumpers etc fine (not used me lipo yet). Surely to get the min and max for forward and reverse you have to pull it both ways to set? The tamiya did that. Tbh not check the viper to see if it is exactly on. Will check now. Not sure how reversing the throttle would help?
  13. Yes centred and all trims etc centred. Well not steering but that's cos the servo isn't straight
  14. Postie brought me nothing today. Mean postie....
  15. Hah no probably not thanks to you and your son... Bad influence hah
  16. Thanks to @everclear1984 storage set my new lipo (tbh it took 5s as the cells were only .1v off the stage voltage) and now trying to recover a very old NiCad that came with withe mad bull!
  17. I'm about to use Lipo on a brushed motor, with a HW 1060 ESC, what do I need to be careful of?
  18. Hi all, Installed my second of these ESCs in a mad Bull yesterday (stock 540 motor), and reading the instructions states to leave the throttle in neutral and it takes 3 seconds to do a "throttle range self-calibration". Fine OK, the car works. But... The LED flashes when going forward or reverse not max, and is solid when max. I've noticed that forward max is about 66/75% of the pull on the trigger. I reset the transmitter to defaults and 0s/100% etc. The Sand Viper came with a Tamiya Brushless ESC which you pressed a button to then do max forward/reverse, replaced with a 1060 too, and that one seems fine with the same make/model of radio. I can't remember what I did with SV and manual is just not helpful! Cheers!
  19. Was looking at the EV800D, yeah you look sillier, but seems better than the EV100 for similar price and can make it a monitor in the future for "friends" etc to watch? I dunno. Might try FPV'ing me cars and get that equipment first, get a transmitter (I've decided on the TX16S) and use sims for a while, before getting a real drone (i have a few £20 ones acquired over the years).
  20. Oh wheels are on and off all the time, so will hopefully give it a run tonight. Yeah need to get some different sizes of heat shrink. Bought a pack of 40 Deans last week which came with the small pre cut lengths, and they fine Getting used to Soldering (or soddering if you're American). What model next? Hmmm, dunno, probably just keep these two for now. If keep getting more, might need to invest in a better transmitter that can have multi models! Is there a way I can link a receiver to two radios easily (i.e. use the two I have for the kids, but I can link a "better" multi model one too?) I guess in theory it's possible, but you sync/bind them and will use new codes each time. With regards the battery a little annoyed at that LiPo, thought was rounded corners. It's OK for the Viper, does fit just need to dremmel the 2 little bits under the latch, but will definitely not fit the mad bull. It's the reason why I only bought one, so can test to start with. FPV drones next... Nah will wait till 2021 for that, hah. Might like a 4x4 and brushless, who knows, spending a fortune
  21. Oooh considering similar. Will follow this thread closely. Very interested. What goggles you going for?
  22. Also do realise the back wheels are wrong way round on mad bull will change that before take it out!
  23. Well fixed up the mad bull with today's delivery and got a chance to try out a few tools I've bought recently. Soldering iron, heat gun, and a Dremel style rotary tool. Had to make a battery holder (used a coat hanger and the Dremel!) As the mad bull one was missing and replaced all my connectors with deans connectors as the tamiya style ones are just... Well... And no I didn't forget to put the heat shrink on any wires (nearly forgot once but noticed just before putting wire to connector lol). Though getting that heat shrink over the solder on occasion was nearly as hard as putting on a condom! Anyways here's some pics (not driven it yet though) And yes that table needs a clean tomorrow!
  24. Had me model sport order today. Ready to make the mad bull go again! Oh and lipo too though awaiting a charger to be delivered!
  25. A few will definitely help with locks etc and reduce the price. Sure places with day hire I'd just say do it!
