  1. Hi am looking for ideas for Christmas should I be putting the WLTOYS 124019 on my list or something else which is similar? I want a buggy and ideally battery powered budget can be adjusted but not over £250, I'll be using it mainly in retail parking etc. I've recently purchased a WLTOYS 144001 for my 5 yr old lad which am impressed with for the money. Just to add a a beginner with limited knowledge, thank you for any advice.
  2. My m140i which I've owned for 2 years its b58 engine is simply a animal with afew tweaks. And my old golf mk2 Gti which I've been playing around with for over 18 years.

Hermes are extremely slow I recently had a delivery take a week with them, the parcel doesn't seem to move for days. Good luck mate!!
  4. Has it got to be shoe goo or is there a different brand also recommend? Great tip on the hot glue thanks, I shall take a look on YouTube for Kev Talbots posts referring to body strengthening.
  5. Any advice for doing this messy job? Which tape are you using? Thanks.👍
  6. Yes that's the one I'll put a storage charge on them tomorrow, they are a small battery so shouldn't take long. Thank you.
  7. I'll definitely be looking into what connections leads I need thanks 👍
  8. Yes I think the skyrc charger does 1.6 A but am not sure what connection the WLTOYS rc takes I'll have to check. The WLTOYS batteries are lipos aren't they? It doesn't say on them. Thank you!
  9. Just used my SkyRc T100 charger to put a storage charge on my lipos which was a little unnerving but went ok, except trying to disconnect the charge lead which is a pig. Trying NOT to pull on the wire just the plastic Dean's (T connector) what a pain in the arse. Does everyone just pull the connection apart by the wires? Next dumb question....drum roll....with the WLTOYS 144001 rc batteries is it best to use the battery charger that came with it or use my Skyrc battery charger? Thank you for not openly laughing at my endless questions.
  10. Thanks won't be long before I break something and I'll be asking for advice 😬
  11. Funny you should say that the Mrs has just asked what I'd like for Christmas hum.... 'maybe a rc buggy'
  12. Thanks mate you have been an amazing help from my first post, even if has damaged my bank account just before Christmas 🤣
  13. To be honest I didn't know you could adjust the throttle, perfect thanks. The 144001 (crazy name)is for our boy's birthday which is in December so it'll be hidden away, which means its unfair to use my Rival mt10 until then. In the mean time I might strengthen the body on the Rival whilst hidden in my man cave. Big thank you for all your help mate!!
  14. After a considerable amount of help from lots of people on this forum, I've recently purchased a Associated Rival mt10 and a WLTOYS 144001 for my 5 year old lad. I charged the 144001 last night for the first time, then nearly wiped it out on our sofa. Its rapid early days but am impressed. Haven't charged the lipos for the Rival mt10, looking forward to a new hobby especially if it gets our boy outdoors. Without this Forum I wouldn't consider buying a Rc car but with everyone's help and input am confident it'll be fine.
  15. Really glad I asked the SkyRc charger is is then thanks!!
  16. That is an amazing find such a bargain, I haven't used the rc on 2s yet but I know I've just got to get a 3s lipo. For that price I might even get 2 more 2s lipos. Thank you for the link mate.
  17. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/skyrc-t100-battery-charger/rc-car-products/444856 https://www.modelsport.co.uk/overlander-d100-v2-ac-dc-dual-balance-charger-discharger-power-supply/rc-car-products/433878 I like the look of both the above chargers I totally understand you get what you pay for but is there a big difference in the two? Last question for now anyway is this battery any good it's been mentioned in a previous posthttps://www.amazon.co.uk/GOLDBAT-Rechargeable-Hardcase-Airplane-Helicopter/dp/B08CV25PBP I thought modifying my cars was expensive this hobby is on par at the moment 🤣
  18. Thanks everyone your help and replies are as always appreciated, I shall let you know what charger I decide on,am not in a huge rush it'll be a early Christmas present (another one).
  19. My Rival mt10 arrived about an hour ago. Really looking forward to get outdoors to use it, if it ever stops raining. I'd really like to buy a quality lipo charger with the option to charge two batteries at a time if possible, without spending £££££ budget ideally £100 ish. There's afew 2nd hand IMAX B8's on Ebay or should I just buy new? Obviously I've read loads of info on here but am still a complete novice, a basic easy to use charger is a must. Last thing is Amazon ok to purchase lipo batteries? Thanks peeps!
  20. You are probably right he's definitely a quick learner but has the attention span of a flea. He's caught me watching rc action on YouTube and loves the idea. I always wanted to get into rc cars as a kid, an older friend had a grasshopper but my parents didn't have the available funds.
  21. I've now ordered both the rival mt10 and the wltoys rc, thank you to everyone who posted especially @m4inbrain for your help and patience. Without this forum and everyone's input I would have probably have given up.
  22. I'll check it out thanks at a quick glance it looks cheaper. Win win....
  23. Thank you yes am not worried about the WLTOYS rc to be honest it'll be broken in days, I'll spend most of the time repairing it. It was the rival mt10 I was concerned about, sorry if I've confused anyone.
