We've had a smashing few days our WLTOYS 124019 fried its esc and today the Rival squashed the 144001. Not sure what the little thing is but it's definitely dead(thankfully), after getting run over also. Am stealing parts from one WLTOYS rc to keep one running whilst waiting for the slow boat from China to bring much need parts.

After some research I've been told connecting/binding a new esc to my controller isn't a problem. I just need to decide if its worth the £££ to go brushless instead, I really don't want to spend the purchase price of the 124019 just to go brushless I'd rather put the cash into a new rc car.🙄

Well it was bound to happen my WLTOYS 124019 has stopped working, as a beginner am ok with moving parts but after getting wet the esc has stopped (no power no led light) Am guessing I've damaged it and it needs replacing which is easy enough, the question I have is once its replaced will I have to program it to work with my controller? If so how is this done please? Hopefully this makes sense sorry am a novice, thank you for any advice.

Started the hobby only afew months ago, the main reason is to spend some quality time with my son. I keep telling myself we don't need another truck but we do obviously.(maybe a truggy next) Recently built a ramp am sure my neighbour's think am slightly crazy tho especially yesterday when the road was frozen. For the money the WLTOYS 114001 is great fun, all rc cars break, am not sure about upgrading to metal parts as the next weakest part will fail. Parts are a pain to order from China granted but I'd still recommend the WLTOYS cars.

Unfortunately that's not working I'll have an other look at it asap. It's new not 2nd hand it should be fully functioning. *Update tried using the rival today after it not moving backwards or forwards for a lifetime it looks like it was the throttle trim adjustment now it goes into reverse yay!! And throws itself on its roof is I accelerate to quickly 🙄

*Newbie alert* - took my rival out for the first time today I couldn't figure out why I couldn't put the car into reverse. I've googled and even reluctantly looked at the instructions not something I usually do, I can't figure it out. Drives and stops fine just won't go into reverse before I contact the company I purchased it from am I missing something? Throttle trim adjustment? Thank you.

I have some plywood stored away ready to build a small ramp once am willing to brave this cold damp weather.

The bigger the mah the longer run time, our WLTOYS rc cars came with a selection of batteries ranging from 1500mah to 3000mah. Your batteries will be fine, I've ordered a replacement battery from banggood nearly a month ago and am still waiting for delivery.

For the money the 144001 and the 124019 a great rc cars I got both to bash with our 6 year old boy. Both had the same steering alignment problems you have mentioned easily fixed. I found a great YouTube vid that describes how to grease both differentials which I recently undertook. Finding the supplied batteries abit of a let down other than that it's been great fun.

Batteries are always put on storage charge then stored in a lipo safety bag in a ammo box in the garage. Trying to be careful 👍

We are looking forward to some dry weather and trying some jumps very soon, I've only got one battery for the 124019 for now until the one I've ordered from banggood turns up in a month. (I know the 114001 batteries fit even tho there alot smaller) Have more confidence charging the lipos now 👍

Today I finally took our WLTOYS 124019 and the 114001 out for a blast with my now 6 yr old boy definitely found the 124019 easier to control in a straight line the long chassis helps. The rain and rain puddles stopped play in the end, we need to find a better location than a empty carpark also there's only so many times you can go around in circles. Overall the WLTOYS rc cars are plenty fast enough for now, still haven't used my associated rival mt10 but I will very soon. Had alot of thumbs up from passing people whilst racing our cars about.

Am definitely considering a boat very soon, just not sure where I'd use it. We have a very large boating lake near by but it saltwater. Been looking at a Volantex V792-4 ATOMIC or something similar. Thank you for posting your videos.

I have 144001 so I can measure the battery tray in that, your battery dimensions have definitely helped. The battery is still small in the 124019 searching Amazon isn't ideal for a match, I shall spend sometime searching else where. Thanks again James.

Thank you for the reply James I've taken a look at the FTX vantage yes looks great. The idea of brushless does appeal definitely something to think about, just told my other half I want another rc car and got the green light saves me hiding it. I do like the purple tho....hummmmm....🤣

I think after a quick look you can only pre-order the 124019 but I think the purple looks great. Not sure of the availability of spare parts but it should be fine as its basically the same as a 144001 and parts are available for that.
