  1. Not sure if it’s spam or a dodgy email link so I didn’t click on the link but it was from the official forum email address…went something along the lines of ‘Death spell, divorce spell’ etc etc. Might have clicked if he said ‘spell to make missus agreeable to another RC car’ 🤣
  2. Sorry @Guns 😔 I’m gutted for you sir. Was rooting for City this evening.
  3. @Stormbringerawesome, thanks! They have all the cables I need in stock too! @Guns thank you too - I’ll have a look at this shortly and if WS have have the leads I’ll bring it together in one order. Oh, and good luck for the game tonight!
  4. @Yrkoonthis is really helpful - thanks for the guidance! I imagine I'll need something with a bit more oomph for my 6700mAh 4S Traxxas batteries but its good to know that you're already running the kind of setup that I'm thinking of!
  5. @eddywatson Hi bud, I use a SkyRC GSM020 which is pretty epic. Has a really intuitive mobile app and excellent breakdown of stats (speed/alt/acceleration and more). I bought one after seeing lots of guys on YouTube doing speed runs using the same one. Also worth spending a tenner on a protective case too - you can get 3D printed ones from eBay. Hope this helps!
  6. @walkbythesea interesting point - I typically need to charge two batteries with the same cell count and mAh capacity so it would be great if a parallel board works for our purposes. Plus it will save me a few quid!
  7. Hi guys I've had a look on the forum for previous posts and found some very good guidance on dual chargers, but still have some questions. Background: I have lots of different battery types as follows: 4 x T/Deans 2S Lipos (only need to run two at any one time) 2x XT90 3S Lipos 2x Traxxas 4S 6700 Lipos (I have a single port Traxxas Live ID charger but charging/discharging these one at a time takes ages). 2x EC5 4S Lipos I only need to charge batteries for use with one car at a time i.e. no more than two lipos when taking one of the bigger cars out. I currently have a iMax B6 V2 (I think 80W) which I use for everything except the Traxxas lipos and it seems to be doing a fair job. The problem is getting out with my bigger cars and having to wait for two charging cycles, hence the need for a dual charger. I was thinking of the following: SkyRC T200 Duo (has XT60 ports) 2x Etronix TRX ID LiPo Adapter 4S PLUS 2 x XT60 (F) to Trx (M) 2x XT60 (F) to T/Deans (M) 2x XT60 (F) to EC5 (M) 2x XT60 (F) to XT90 (M) Is this a really convoluted way of fixing my problem? Or does this seem reasonable? I'd love to hear any suggestions on alternatives too. The budget is circa £100 for the charger and I'll pay extra for the various cables I might need to connect everything up. Looking for a mains-only charger and will probably look to cover some of the cost by selling the Traxxas Live ID charger (will keep the iMax B6 as a back up). If I've missed anything or if anything is unclear please shout! Thanks!
  8. Sorry to hear - hope you get well soon bud. Good luck with the sale. All the best
  9. @mydoddy69Haha! I’m only a few years late to the party then! 😂
  10. Hopefully I’m not the only one who has an issue paying strong money for an X-Maxx stand... I was considering the T-Bone version for the X-Maxx (USD50-odd + shipping) but then decided to give it a shot myself. This was £13 all-in and took about 30mins to put together. Happy to share more details with anyone who might want to do the same for theirs!
  11. Saw this on the Align-Trex eBay store. 15% off with code PRESENTS15. Min spend £15 Max £60 off Thought it might be helpful to share. Have had my eye on a DB Pro for a while and the website/eBay price is the same (£440). With discount it’s £380ish via eBay. Includes next day DPD delivery (and next day deliver for other higher priced items) For lower priced items, like servos, batteries and body shells, they end up being only a couple of quid cheaper when compared to other places, but you do get free Royal Mail 1st class delivery. Guessing £100+ is where you get the free next day service.
  12. After an x-maxx body shell including body supports please. Any Traxxas 7711 derivatives, but ideally the black/red. Will also consider any other shells suitable for the x-maxx as long as they are ready to mount!
  13. Hi Lee

Came across this forum as I’m having issues with my killswitch - it seems to be cutting the engine when about 30ft out. I imagine it should allow me to go out further?
I have a q-Baja bought from RCModelz in April.

Also, I notice that when it does cut out due to the range it is in ‘pre-arm’ mode rather than kill mode. I cycle CH3 twice, start the car and I’m off again (until I go out of range).

I emailed RCM and they said it seems to be an interference issue so I’ve gone out to an open space with no houses within 1/2km and still have the same problem. No other issues that I can tell.

    any thoughts?

      Hi Vr5fx

Thanks for the advice and steer. Definitely seems to be a problem focused on the radio/rx/rx battery

In testing, I removed the rx out of the box, extended the arial and got a little further in terms of range (then experienced it cutting out).
Kill switch was on the double flash (indicating loss of signal) which I think points to the issue (I was getting pre-arm when out of range previously).   11.5v showing on the TRX.

Also need to test with the kill switch unplugged but there seemed to be a pretty clear ‘fold’ in the antenna where whoever put the buggy together had just stuffed it in the box.
      Ordered a new rx.

Also think the battery is a problem, in two months, I’ve charged it three times (driven about 3 hours and charged it about 2 hours). Doesn’t seem right that the light goes green after only 45 minutes or so!
Will try the new rx and if no joy, I’ll order a new battery pack and charger because I don’t have any confidence in the standard set up!

      thanks again for your help!

      Thanks again for the support.

All sorted - new RX (finally) came through from China. Ordered a new hump battery 4500mAh for the receiver. Changed both at the same time (too impatient!) so defo one of these two things causing the issue.

It’s properly going now! Getting 70-80m out, and I’m bottling it! 😀

      Take care, and stay safe!
      All the best
