  1. Weird how it's come from the factory with the MSN so far out not known that before. Well with any luck you'll get it sorted. Think of it this way when you move on to a different model like a hyper or a savage I be you'll find it so much easier to deal with so thats a small plus to all this!
  2. More hassle than it's worth use an external filter.
  3. If you know they work fine then stick with em. Still worth a punt if you just get one and see if it improves things.
  4. Hmm I did have a thought like that today as a .21 revs higher than a .28 (well usually) But then I guess a .28 has more torque to deal with higher gearing. So really it just comes down a decent engine and the right gearing.
  5. Hmm not sure I agree there! America has far more imigrants such as: South East Asians, Japanese, Hispanics which covers most of South America! Put it this way I wouldn't wanna swap! lol Anyway I get my water hot when I'm paying for some couple with seven kids to live in comfort when they haven't worked in fifteen years! I'd like them to come clean my house and cook my tea every day for what I pay in tax! Back to topic now! America always get deals like this it has a much bigger market so they can re-coup any losses they initially suffer it sucks but waht can we do. It always seems to happen that way which is what makes it so sweet when we get something early! lol
  6. To be honest I'm not sure I tend to stick with what I know works. In my case it's McCoys MC9's but I'm on a .28 engine.
  7. Thats exactly the same engine as I started out in Nitro and as far as I remember there was no low speed needle. As one of the other guys said you only need to adjust the main needle. Have you adjusted the MSN at all so far or did it come like that??
  8. That should be fine I used to use a plug like that in my first truck which was an ACME model.
  9. Check your fuel line and fuel tank and see if you have a split or crack. Also check that the lid of the tanks sealing properly. It could also be a split in the pressure pipe from the exhaust. Worth a look!
  10. Cheers! Sheet coming my way soon!! lol
  11. Right then we're on! So whens best for everyone? I can't do this weekend as in Wakey at friends. How about the 26th or the Sunday 27th? Oh and has anyone got a ramp they could man over?? lol I'll get round to building one may have to blag the old man into helping me!
  12. Well i think a .21 is faster off the line than a .28 but I think a .28 has more legs for high speed runs.
  13. Also is the gears meshed right? Does it rattle when you push along the floor??
  14. Probably not for just pure top end. To be honest I think you can get just about any buggy to really fly if you gear it right and have an engine with enough legs. Something with a two speed option is always a thought.
  15. Speaking of stickers! Can you still get Modelsport ones?? I think my Hyper and Dominator would look much better with a few! lol
  16. To be honest if it is one of these engines you have in your car you'll probably struggle as they aren't the best especially for someone new to nitro.
  17. Is your model an ACME did you say? If it is I don't think they have a slide carb they have one the barrel types. If I'm right you only get a main needle and an idle adjuster no LSN or MRN. I started out in Nitro with a Acme Conquistidor Truck with a Team Iffinity .18 engine and it was like that. That's maybe why your having so much problems. Does your carb look like the one on this: Click Me!!
  18. Ha I just realised I put you'll have to be broken in again!! lol
  19. Right thats a few! I shall do a scouting mission again may stick some pics on and arrange a date!
  20. You'll probably have to be broken in again. Set the carb back to factory if it hasn't been already.
  21. All I know is the mid range needle shouldn't me messed with really not unless you really know what your doing so I'd definatley leave well alone! lol
  22. You can drill some to allow for extra airflow it certainly won't hurt. My run times about 15 minutes.
  23. who's up for a Malton bash? Found a few places today when walking with the Mrs! One place especially as it has off road parking. Let me know what weekend your free on here and i'll arrange something. The spot I scouted out is down Old Malton it's the Football and Cricket pitch but there's scope to use Orchard Fields as well. Anyhow anyone locla to me facies a go lets us know and I'll set a definate date!
  24. You could just richen it few mm. If it was that lean it would be running hot and most probably be burning plugs. Use a temp gage if you can or try the old spit test! lol Not the most accurate I admit but gives you an idea how hot she's running.
