  1. Hi all. Problem solved!!! Solution: reset HSN to factory settings (4.5 turns), blew down the fuel line to get fuel to the carb and turned the idle screw out about an 1/8 turn. Thanks for the advise all! Paul
  2. Thanks guys! I will try this out and report back! After 5 years, it was always going to be a challenge
  3. Hi all, I havnt driven my Hobao Hyper 7 TQ sport in about five years. I have bought a new glow plug, air filter and nitro. Everything else looks good. It won't start up. Here is what I have tried so far: -Put some nitro into the engine to prime it. -Checked the glow plug starter works I have noticed that the fuel line looks dry. I can't remember if the fuel line should have fuel up to the carb when you are starting it up. I have also forgotten which to adjust if it won't start out of the HSN, LSN or idle screws. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. Paul
  4. Hi All, I am almost certainly going to buy a Traxxas Bandit VXL: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/traxxas-bandit-vxl-2.4-ghz-rtr-red-/rc-car-products/389472 What are the essential upgrades for this model? Also, is it generally agreed this is a good brushless model? I.e., my last model was the Hobao Hyper 7- It comes with rubbish suspension springs and servos, which I immediately upgraded. Thanks all! Paul
  5. @Tiernan85, Is this the firestorm you refer to? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-e-firestorm-10t-rtr-2.4ghz/rc-car-products/380330 It looks good, but I am attracted to the Traxxas as it has the potential to go very fast. Is the Firestorm as fast in your opinion?
  6. Hi All, I am almost certainly going to buy a Traxxas Rustler VXL. What are the essential upgrades for this model? I.e., my last model was the Hobao Hyper 7- It comes with rubbish suspension springs and servos, which I immediately upgraded. Thanks all! Paul
  7. Thanks all, I really appriciate your help! Paul
  8. Kind of, even when the buggy is stationary I sometimes need to blip the gas to stop it stalling.
  9. I havn't tuned the idle screw since purchase. Thanks for the tip, I will try that out tommorow night!! This forum is the best! Paul
  10. Hi guys, I have a Hyper 7 TQ Sport Mach 28. When I apply the brakes in my buggy, the engine is being starved of fuel and stalls. It appears just a little force against the spring towards the carb starves the engine. I am learning to live with it by braking then blipping the gas when it is about to stall, but that is starting to get me down. I have tuned the linkages alot, I have even upgraded them this week to the following: http://www.modelspor...on&ItemID=28725. Is this normal? Should I be able to stall the engine if I hold the brakes? Or should I continue to play with the linkages? Thanks Paul
  11. Thanks for your advise Thunderwolf. I will pick up some Duracells and see how that goes. My Brother has Spektrum with his model aeroplanes, so I believe you on that one. Thanks Paul
  12. Hi guys, I am using a 6v receiver stick pack fully charged on the buggy, but the batteries in my transmitter are very cheap AA's x 8 What transmitter would you recommend then? Thanks for your advise!! Paul
  13. Hi all, I have a Hyper 7 TQ Sport Mach 28, I have not modified the transmitter / receiver, they are the original factory ones. When the buggy and transmitter are turned on and I stand within a meter of the buggy , the servos constantly shake very slighly, if I touch the transmitter aerial on the buggy aerial, this is reduced, but still happens a bit. Its not a big problem, but also this week, it has been so hot, that when the buggy is a long way away from me on tarmac, the fail safe kicks in. It appears either the standard transmitter or receiver on the Hyper 7 is not all that powerful. Do any other Hyper 7 users find that same happens? And do you think this could be solved by upgrading the transmitter or receiver? Or maybe even more powerful batteries in the transmitter? Thanks Paul
  14. Hi all, At present I have a Nitro Hobao Hyper 7 Mach 28 TQ Sport. Its amazing fun, but I would like to find out what the fuss is about with Brushless. 1) What is the best / fastest brushless buggy I can get for
