  1. Can't wait for my servo to arrive.. [emoji846]. I'm few steps behind again Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  2. Drive train completed yesterday. Now just awaiting for servo to arrive by post. My transmitter and receiver is somewhere in UK after customs clearance and my battery and charger somewhere in Poland. It is a waiting game now. [emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you! My instinct was right[emoji16]. Slowly but I'm getting there Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  4. I got to the point when the motor will be attached to transfer box. I'm just thinking... Should I use thread lock whilst securing pinion gear on the motor output shaft? Manual does not say that but I think it should be used. Any thoughts? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  5. I have just showed my lack of experience in this matter. [emoji53] But anyway, two more shocks and half of transmission is done now. That's it for tonight... I am hoping to get the transmission and motor assembled tomorrow. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. I just ordered it and I'm hoping it will arrive quickly. I must say I'm a bit disappointed with Axial quality as for something as essential as gear fitting I would not expect any problems for the money it costs. It's not a rocket science and it's actually very surprising they didn't get it right. My Chinese WPL had a similar problem with one of the axles but the whole model costed less than new SCX axel. They even sent me a replacement which was turning without any problems. Really good like for very cheap manufacturer. OK, I had my rant now, and will be back to building it. I hope the transmission will not have similar problems to axles as that would be unacceptable. [emoji849] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  7. Cannot see anything available in Modelsport but I found this in RCbitz https://rcbitz.com/hardware-nuts-bolts/5mm-x-9mm-x-0-3mm-axle-shims-10-rc4wd-z-s1559-yota-ii-set-better-gear-mesh/ Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  8. Legend [emoji106]I will go through all my toolboxes first before ordering any. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks everyone for quick advice. I will measure it properly in the afternoon and will have a looks for some washers/shims[emoji106] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  10. Beautiful [emoji106] it all makes sense now. Thank you. Another question now is where can I get the shims..? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  11. I can't see the way to make the pinion shaft being pulled out all the time. The main shatf from the motor is on the slider anyway so that won't make any difference once is connected as it should not. Unless you mean shimming out left and right drive shafts... Sorry I'm a bit lost now. Looks like I need to get the shims. But where would I put it? If on the pinion gear shat it would only make it go deeper into the axle [emoji849] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  12. As suggested this is separate thread on my SCX 10 II build. So far, I got to assembling shocks and noted grinding in gears on both axles which drives me mad [emoji16] As rightly pointed it happens when the pinion shaft is all the way in to the axle. Here are some photos of very little progress and my choice of body and wheels... Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  13. Exactly as you say. It happens when it is all the way in. Same on both axles Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you. I started to have horrible visions of grinded gears and buying replacements etc... [emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  15. I have only one worry at the moment... Both axles seem to be fine and both have a very slight play on pinion gear shatf axis as it should be. However, I noticed that they work freely only if I'm turning them by turning the actual pinion gear shaft and not the drive shafts. If I'm trying to turn it by the drive shafts it is getting really difficult and I can feel gears grinding... And it is almost impossible to turn. I thought they should turn without any grinding or catching no matter how it is turned if it makes sense.... Could someone advise on this? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  16. It is. I hope it's going to be worth waiting for. Assembling shocks is not exactly fun with those tiny retaining clips but I'm enjoying it[emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  17. Cheap wheels but they look good[emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  18. Typically as I said it was late... It has just arrived together with hard body which I must say looks better than I expected Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  19. Great tread. It looks like we are at the similar stage more or less. Actually I'm planning on assembling shocks tonight. I'm delaying things a bit as I'm still waiting for a motor to arrive which is now very late. I like the toolset. Looks very good quality I just finished both axles. 20. Thank you for quick reply. I'm ordering Austar tomorrow and will see how it goes[emoji106] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  21. I don't want to start the whole new discussion about the best and the cheapest like I have done with a motor... [emoji16] But I just need a quick answer on something. I watched few things on yt an read some answers on Banggod. I am almost committed to this set: https://banggood.app.link/tJdm52QHR6 [uS$35.42 9% OFF]New Version AUSTAR AX5 3CH 2.4G Transmitter With Receiver For RC Car RC Parts from Toys Hobbies and Robot on banggood.com https://banggood.app.link/tJdm52QHR6 So the question... Will this work OK with Hobbywing Quicrun 1080 ESC? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  22. It looks like I accidentally started quite a constructive discussion about motors here[emoji6] All the info here is great learning for me as it is big step from WPL into more serious stuff. I may star another one about transmitters and receivers next as I am on the look out for it now... So brace yourself [emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  23. Holmes ordered from Red Winches [emoji846] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks everyone for their input. It looks like it's going to be Holmes then[emoji106] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  25. I'm pretty much convinced about Holmes now. Just as a question... Has anyone had any experience with Absima motors. This looks alright: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/absima-electric-motor-thrust-b-spec-truck-35t/rc-car-products/442812 I also found some Axial motors in good price but apparently they are not very good. Is that the case? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
