  1. I had another day of fun today in a forest. I noted a few things. Original Axial shocks are not great as two rear ones are leaking already. Can anyone recommend any decent ones? Second question is easy. Does anybody have a 1.9 inch spear wheel with tyre that I could buy? Ordering a full set of four just to have one hanging at the rear seems to be a little overkill. Any offers? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  2. Weather is not great today so it was only a short trip but I'm very impressed with its capability [emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you@Jimboi. It's far from good but it's not noticeable on pictures [emoji16] there will be definitely some outdoor photos as soon as I manage to take it outside Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  4. Eventually I got it all together [emoji123]. Despite my rather shabby job with spraying I'm quite happy with final results. Massive thanks to everyone for their advices and patience[emoji6] Hopefully there will be some open country tests on Thursday. Few bits needs some fine tuning and I will think about some nice decal too.. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  5. Slow but steady progress Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. I think I'm getting better with spraying, at least with the primer[emoji16]. Now I need to wait for another can so I might tint windows over the weekend Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  7. After 24hrs I dared to test the magnets I fitted on epoxy glue to the body and with bolts and glue to the posts. It's holding really well[emoji16] I might add one more front and back just to make it rock solid but I am really pleased with their force. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  8. I have challenged myself with this colour and looks like another can will be needed for final third coat. It should be here on Monday so there will be slight delay in progress... Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  9. After long brake I had a chance to get back to it. Body now fits and is sitting nicely on slightly altered rock sliders. I made two aluminium brackets for rear top mounts. Magnets now arrived so the final fitting of magnets will take place and then painting eventually [emoji16][emoji439] before final assembly. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  10. Thank you very much again. It looks like after cutting holes for shocks the rear will go low enough to meat my modified rear bumper mounts [emoji106] However now the front is too high as the body sits on side trays completely. So I will cut the trays more and let the body go down to rest on rock slider rail mounts. That should be just enough [emoji3] so more plastic cutting and it will get there. 11. Thank you [emoji106] it is very useful topic. Looks like someone had a similar problem. However I seem to mainly struggle with rear. I will see what happens when I will cut holes for shock towers. You are right, it isn't exactly level. I'm worried that even if it would go down enough to make it level it won't be enough to meet rear bumper. As in front is nearly there, about 8mm gap and rear is approx 2cm. I want to have body exactly level with chassis so I will probably have to get rear bumper a bit higher somehow Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  12. Quite radical move but final result looks good. I'll see what I can do without trimming the body Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  13. Thank you cod_zac. It all makes sense now. I discovered a new obstacle today. It looks like the gap between rear bumper and the body is much bigger than in front. I was planning to trim side trays anyway to fit proper rock sliders along the side of the body. But it doesn't look like the body will go down enough to meet the bumper even if the whole width of shock mounts will go through the holes I will have to make just behind rear seats. It looks quite odd.. Has anybody had anything like this with wrangler hard body? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you. Did you use magnet to magnet or magnet to steel disc? I'm thinking magnet to magnet to make it stronger. Sorry, one more question or two actually... Did you go for rare earth or neodymium magnets? And what sort of glue? I'm planning on some strong two part epoxy Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  15. I eventually managed to fit the rear bumper and hopefully by the weekend will have front bumper rails cut to size and drilled. Still lots of plastic cutting ahead. I decided to make body fitting on neodymium magnets as it looks neat and it's quite practical. Does anyone have any experience with them? I am assuming the little 10mm diameter disc with 1.2kg pull force will be sufficient? Times four it makes it over 4kg pull. I don't want to make it to strong as it potentially brake the body on removal. One more question. Can anyone suggest best glue to fix disc to the body and mounting points? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  16. Great job[emoji108] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  17. Hahaha, it is big. But I jest need to cut the rails shorter and it will be fine. Main issue is with the rear one as it does not fit to the bracket. But it will[emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  18. It is starting to take shape slowly. It just needs some filing off rough edges. Next challenge is to do a proper magnetic body mounting. I'm still waiting for my paint to arrive. I decided to keep the bumper and make them fit. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  19. So the slaughtering of the body begun... Lots needs to be removed to make it fit. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  20. After over a week of waiting the set of metal bumpers eventually arrived... Unfortunately it is wrong size fitting [emoji24][emoji24] It is so disappointing. Now I have to buy another one and wait again. I hate when people put wrong descriptions on ebay. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  21. I just ordered a black set from eBay for £35. Spraying aluminium is actually a no go. Next step is few spray tins from Tamiya for the body and tinting foil for rear windows. It never ends[emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  22. Thank you. That would explain this really good price. It is a shame as it was exactly what I wanted. I found aluminium silver for SCX10 II but I want black.. [emoji849] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  23. I'm on a hunt for bumpers now. I found something nice but I'm not sure if it's going to fit Scx10 II as it is described as for Scx10. Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Is it the same fittings? Here it is https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07W4T1666/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CaobFbRE85090 Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  24. I did that at the very beginning and it didn't make a difference which seemed impossible. It only affected the servo for some reason as well as the way when ESC would react to set button. It works now, just need some fine tuning and it will be fine. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  25. So here's a little update. Before setting the ESC I switched the throttle position on transmitter to reverse and started calibration like that. To my surprise ESC beeped as it should (twice at forward and triple at reverse). When I turned it back on I switched transmitter throttle back to Normal and at least it went forward but still at 50%. So then I set reverse force to 100% and forward to 50%. Now it drives as it should eventually [emoji856]. But I don't think either this is how it should be done. I am blaming the transmitter but I will go with the rule: Don't brake it if it works. I can now focus on the body. First gonna watch some tutorials on painting [emoji16] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
