Hi, Me and a few friends are riding our bikes 180miles in 3 days from Birmingham to Brighton on 22nd - 24th September 2011 in aid of Save the Children. None of us are pros or have extensive riding experience so should be a good laugh! its a single speed at the moment. Just a DMR single speed conversion kit on it (spacers, 16T sprocket and a chain tensioner). But what I have been doing the past year is slowly upgrading the whole bike from the standard (not so good) stock parts to something alot more substantial to take a battering arround an XC track. The gearing is the last thing that needs to be changed

Ahhh, that was my next question, can you mix cassette and mech makes, but you have answered that!! I wanted to get SRAM as the reviews for the items I am looking at getting are generally better. I haven't seen the second hand cassette, but I know it is going to be a "good" one as its off my friend's good spec down hill bike and I think he upgraded his gearing system soon after getting the bike so there should be little wear. But its also a cash-flow issue. If it comes to it I don't mind buying a new one in like October/December time as this one is free (all but the cost of a few beers down the pub!) so in a way I won't be buying twice thanks for the advice

I am just getting prices together for parts I am going to need so I can put gears back on my bike ready for the autumn so I can go XC'ing at uni (got a single speed at the moment as it i set up for town/commuting). I am only after entry level items as I am relatively new to this and my budget is not the biggest. SO to keep costs down my friend has offered me his old SRAM 9sp cassesste and old Shimano XT front mech and shifter. I know I am going to need a SRAM reach mech and shifter (going for n X7 mech and X5 shifter. But then chainset I am after is THIS ONE will it matter that I have a Shimano front and SRAM rear? Can't wait to get my bike to how I want it. Spent the past year upgrading it, just the gears and crank to do then what is left of it is the frame!

I have just been on a track day and had my housemates GoPro camera mounted on the front windscreen, but to get it mounted we had to have it upside down. Is there any software I can use to flip it so it is the correct way? Basically I need to rotate it 180deg. Thanks

I am selling my Schumacher Cougar 2000 and someone has just messaged me if I would post to Hong Kong. I am a little uncertain with this, I sort of don't like posting to Europe just incase there is something wrong with the item. They have offered to pay the extra postage and have 100% feedback off 90 items. What do you think I should do? And I am quite suprised with the interest in the item! It had a bid within the first 3 hours of being listed. The car is like 15 years old and the bodywork and undertray does show signs of wear (I have stated this in the listing) And the motor isn't that good and I have said that it is best option is for a rolling chassis. Are these rare cars?

I would like to take the photo again, but we aren't allowed back into labs as projects are over (just an epic write up to do ) But I have been advised to try and superimpose the ball onto the background. And going back intot hat dark room would send me mad! Spend farrr too much time in there these past few months getting loads of images. Thanks for having a go, I will try to print that out and see what it looks like.

I have tried that, but then I loose the image of the ball, which is the important bit!!

I need some help with these two photos to put in my lab report for uni. They look fine on my computer screen but when they are printed out into the report the black background dominates and you cannot see any shots of the ball. I want to brighten it, but doing so also brightens the colours on the ball and it doens't do much. I want to enhance the clour of the balls and reduce the blackness of the background. How can I do this? Thanks

I have a 1Tb hard drive in my PC and has 653Gb (out of 931Gb) free. I also have an external 1Tb hard drive (which I got before I built my PC) and the only thing on that is my back-up for my PC. And that only has 318Gb free. Why does the back-up take up so much more room than the orginal. I have checked to see if there is more than one back-up on there and the most recent one is kept, so it can't be that.

Wydean Rally in the Forest of Dean is the best rally event. I step out of my front door and its there!!! Not been in the past few years as I have been at uni and work and coursework does come first seeing that I am paying to do it!!

Someone has said to put your mum as a named driver, that reduced my insurance premium, and still does!! I think anyone can be a named driver on a car regardless on where they live? As I was a named driver on my dads for some time and I don't live with him. Try random cars, like non-typical teenager cars. Cinquecento Sporting, Metro, Rovers, Polos from about 1993, Skodas, Renault 5, dare I say it Maestro( as you can pick up some very good ones as they were boxed in pieces and shipped out to some random country but some of them were kept and built in Ledbury from 1997. I even looked at getting one) but I am a fan of retro cars.

ummm.... I don't really know!! I think it was off an 2.5ltr E30 BMW exhaust manifold I just cut it the eges/off cuts into a shape that I needed!
