  1. proper killjoy but all very valid points 😂 Also agree with the hardened steel spur gear upgrade, £20 seemed like a lot of money initially but after even trying the £10 hardened acetal one which stripped on my 2nd battery i took the hit and went for it, been absolutely perfect and paid for itself 10 times over already as i was going through those cheap plastic ones at a rate of knots plus the time it took to change them, that and the carbon top plate have made the car perfectly usable on a daily basis without having to fix something after every run. Cool to see some pics with the new tires on 😀
  2. I like the look of them, much better components out the factory and slightly cheaper. CML are getting a full stock of parts in and even if we need to buy something from Belgium, coming out of the EU isn't going to put prices up much if at all once the dust has settled. They are even making their own hop up parts which is nice. If we don't support smaller companies and create competition in the market place, Horizon are just going to keep releasing lower quality cars each year knowing people will buy them anyway as there is no alternative. I'm going to take a punt with the Kronos and fingers crossed I'm pleasantly surprised
  3. Definitely an Arrma rip off but much better components used out of the box and looks like they are going to have good part support with Corally themselves selling parts including hop-up's and CML being a stockist in the UK. Worth a look..
  4. Anyone thinking of getting one of these? Out of the box id say its better value than Arrma's current offerings. CML are fully supporting spares for the UK which is good to hear and their website has a massive list of parts which more seem to be in stock every day with only 5 euros delivery costs. Looking pretty promising to me so far
  5. I've been able to buy everything I need for mine off ebay, what are you looking for?
  6. I've had a look at Arrma's offerings and am still on the fence a bit. I like all the 6s versions but the Kraton/Outcast/Talion are the ones that im looking into a bit more. I see the V4 versions are having some chassis bending issues and i intend to probably run it more for tricks and stunts than all out speed so I'm leaning towards an Outcast due to its shorter wheelbase which should hopefully help with a bit more rigidity. Anyone own any of these vehicles that might want to share their thoughts on each? Cheers Mike
  7. Quick update, I removed the gearbox and replaced it with a spare I had, the stock grease they use is really clumpy and seems to hinder more than help. I cleaned everything out and added some 5000 CST silicone oil to the diff and used some general purpose Belray waterproof grease for the crown gear and so far so good, no clicking coming from the diff anymore and everything seems to be running sweet. Some of the teeth of the crown gear looked a little worn but I dont know whether it was enough to make it click, I havent taken the old diff apart yet so will have a look inside once I do. Thanks for your help
  8. So far so good, the metal pinion and spur gear are a massive upgrade even over the hardened acetal version and well worth the money. Now I seem to be blowing diff's though Think it might be time for an upgrade to a new car. What's peoples opinions on the Arrma's or Traxxas models at about £350 ish?
  9. The boy had a good bash today with the Bugsta, the metal pinion, spur gear and carbon top plate worked great, no more stripped gears! After about 45 minutes we started to hear some clicking under acceleration, initially i thought it sounds like the front diff so I loosened the grub screw on the bar going through the middle to make it two wheel drive but the clicking is also happening so I think we may have stripped some gears in both diffs I actually have a whole spare rear diff here I bought a while back but im quite interested in taking it apart anyway to see how it all works so im confident rebuilding them going forward when we buy a more expensive car. I'm going to have strip down of the front diff one evening this week, is there anything i should look out for or buy up front before taking it apart? I also have no idea about what oil/grease to use so if someone could help me on what to get that would be great. Cheers guys
  10. Just bought the metal spur and pinion gear and some of the thread locker. Will update you how it goes, thanks!
  11. this keeps happening to me as well, ive even bought the hardened spur and it happen again today. I think its my motor bolts that are coming slightly loose and allowing the pinion gear to move which is shredding the spur. Ive done it up as hard as I can, is there any little trick i can use to stop it moving?
  12. did you ever get to the bottom of this, im having the same issue with an ftx bugsta
