  1. Thanks mond. You’re right of course. I think I’ve been watching disproportionately more than my fair share of Bombers on YouTube, giving me the impression that they’re particularly prone to the problem.
  2. Thanks for the suggested solutions. The RR10 Bomber kit version comes with rear anti roll bar so I'm hoping that should be a good basis to work from. I'm still interested in why the Bomber seems so prone to torque twist. Perhaps I'm seeing vehicles suffering from the classic boyracer error - power uprated before suspension. When I was in my teens I was a passionate car racing fan and found suspension fascinating, if only on a "try to understand what DSJ is talking about in Motor Sport" sort of level. This was the mid 60's when life was simple, F1 was 220bhp from 1.5 litres and Colin Chapman was the suspension guru. (I just remembered that he started Lotus building trials cars, the 50's British version of rock crawlers.) So my new involvement in RC has reawakened that interest and I'm looking forward to playing with suspension set up for real. Thanks again.
  3. Hello all I'm very new to this and on a steep learning curve. I'm enjoying my SCX10 2 Honcho and after many YouTube hours I'm looking to add a RR10 Bomber kit version, which ticks all my boxes. Can anyone tell me why the Bomber is so prone to cocking its left front wheel under power? I don't see it so frequently on any comparable trucks. I've searched here and found lots of hints about reducing it (rear anti roll bar, heavier damper oil etc), but nothing about the basic reason. Any theories anyone? (I'm not asking you to restate solutions I can dig out from the search function, but I'll welcome them if you want to give them!)
  4. Thanks all for the welcome. I'm looking forward to getting down to Paddlesworth again Mond, but it's a bit of a trek. Plenty of local accessible woods to explore though meanwhile. I did try RC model yachting Tomzak - a local club found me a member's used One Metre boat to buy, then were much more interested in their racing than in giving me a bit of help in setting it up and sailing it. I lost interest pretty quickly. adambransbury - I think this could be a good reason to achieve my dream of a man-shed: the garage is rather full of a couple of motorcycles and a trailer, plus half a dozen bicycles. We've already accumulated 4 trucks: my SCX10-2 Honcho, and my son's RX4 Defender, his old Monster Beetle, now a restoration project, and a Suzuki SJ Samurai expected today from the bay. And I have a project to work on later in the summer, poss RX4 kit based. But for the moment I'm getting the gardening tools ready for an assault on the undergrowth and remodelling a horribly overgrown rockery and gathering various "landscaping" loggy and rocky materials.
  5. I've been retired some years and because of arthritis haven't been able to spend as much time as I'd hoped doing things I'd looked forward to. I no longer ride my motorcycle and cycling is uncomfortable. My son recently got back into RC (after having a Monster Beetle some 25 years ago) with a Traxxas TRX4 Defender. We had a day down at the Paddlesworth RC crawler track and I got a bit hooked. So here I am with an Axial SCX10-2 Honcho and provisional planning permission from She Who Must Be Obeyed to "develop" a neglected, overgrown shrubby area at the top of the garden, and loving every minute of it. I was feeling a bit old, getting a bit sofa bound and this will get me out more. And also give me an outlet for my love of tinkering, other than guitars. I was getting tempted towards the upgrade rabbit hole, already have a new grille etc for the Honcho ordered from Knight, but I think I'm going to run the Honcho as it is and have started planning a new project. I'm starting from a zero knowledge base and will look forward to picking your brains. Any other elderly ladies and gents out there?
