My lad dropped the hand held and broke the wheel off it. Tried to glue it but it then wouldn’t turn. A replacement looks to be about £42

Will the transmitter work with the comet??

Hi Guys. My lad had dropped the handheld transmitter and snapped the wheel off it. It’s beyond repair. Any cheap ones going or best one to replace that won’t break the bank? or can you buy another FTX full car and use one trans for both cars? Cheers

Hi. I previously left a post for a build for me and my young lad. But things have changed. Bought home a few other cars and had good fun. FTX has done him proud. Recent divorce and a place in my own I fancy a build myself. Looking at just the car for now then add the radio gear later when funds allow. I like the old school type stuff. Kyosho Untima or scorpion etc tick the boxes. can these be built and then the radio gear added to easily enough after or do you need it for the build to run smoothly? I do prefer the stick type controls and not the gun style. Also tool kit that’s required. Is there any recommendations there? Time scale on the builds/man hours etc Any other suggestions very much welcome.

Are these the brand to beat? not into trashing and bashing but it looks like these are up there in terms of performance and durability. where do they come in the top five brands?

Lol every day my lad asks.

Well as it goes we have broke our FTX Comet. It went to the beach. We have left and right and reverse. But no forward. There is also a slight electrical interference sound. So a win is needed! 😆

Do we have a winner? My little one is pestering me! Have we won. 😄

I have just become a gold member. My little boy has one of these and his twins sister is wanting one! The forum has been very helpful and £12 is a small price to pay for the great advice. Regards Blacknsilver

Yep. Are there advantages to having the gun type? Why did they become the preferred?

These Arrma RC cars look quite impressive. My lads FTC comet is very impressive for £70. I can fault it. Its a fast little thing. Are all the RTR cars complete with gun style transmitter? Would really like the old school stick lever.
