  1. Thanks @Stormbringer I did try this but it didn't seem to make enough of a difference - I'll give it another go
  2. Great to see that this thread has got a lot more active since lockdown! I can't believe there's so many older kids on here (I'm 43), I thought it might be all youngsters. I'm new to the RC world, it's something I always wanted to do when I was a kid but never had the money. Now I have kids of my own, it's given me an excuse to get involved and I bought my Hyper VSE about a year ago and have just been thrashing it around the garden, farm tracks etc. I'm a bit worried that I don't really know what I'm doing and therefore almost definitely don't care for it as much as I should - would you guys be able to point me in the direction or just give a little advice on general maintenance? I try and clean it down and check everything's tight (possibly not as often as I should), but what are the main things to do and how often? I've also got an issue with it pulling a bit to the right, but not quite sure how to true the steering up? Thanks in advance Oh, and here's my Hyper (when new):
  3. Really like these wheels - anyone tried them on a VSe? https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/64286/
  4. So, with the wheels I bought it would seem that I have to adjust the end points quite a lot to stop the wobble but may be I can grind a little out of them with my dremel! Is it safe to say any official Hobao Hyper wheel should be ok i.e. not 'rub'?
  5. That's brilliant thanks so much - I did try putting the original wheels on and it seemed to go away!
  6. I'll gather some more intel this weekend and post relevant vids!
  7. Hi all, I've posted under general electric but wondered if anyone might be able to advise on some full-lock wheel wobble that I'm experiencing. Here's the background: After a few weeks of buying a nearly new car off of ebay my steering stopped working so ordered and fitted a new servo Whilst waiting for the servo I also fitted some new wheels & tyres (pre-mounted) I also set up the camber on both the front & back (just 1 or 2 degrees, nothing big) and tinkered with the toe-in/out as it looked very odd I'm now getting some moderate wheel wobble/vibration on full lock even not at full throttle. It doesn't look like anything is binding and I know I can adjust the steering endpoints from the transmitter but when I do this to the point it stops, the car is left with a fairly wide turning circle. Any help/advice would be appreciated
  8. Had a proper play with the car last night and I've noticed something that might have caused the first servo to wear out prematurely. When on full lock the wheels start to wobble/vibrate - I guess like they are rubbing on something but I can't quite tell what therefore I'm not sure how to remedy it. I know I can adjust the steering travel/endpoints on the transmitter but when I do this to the point that the wheels seem to be ok on full turn, the turning circle is IMO too wide and I'd struggle around a track. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks, Ed
  9. Fitted the new servo last night and all is working ok so thanks for the advice!
  10. I've placed the order and it is due today so hopefully get it fitted tonight and see whether everything is now working ok! If not I guess I'm onto looking at a new receiver and/or transmitter which I guess could have given up. I took a look at the gears on the old servo and they all looked out, so a bit nervous this won't fix it
  11. Thanks, I'll take a look. Out of interest what is your experience with hobbyking? Quick delivery? Reliable? Customer service? They look pretty cheap which always makes me a little suspicious Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks, it was my first attempt at painting a shell so I was a bit nervous but turned out ok I think Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  13. Ha, well unfortunately for you I was on my second bottle of red wine so might have gone a little bit OTT on the bidding! Thanks for the advice on the servo and yes, it is rapid - albeit now only in a straight line :-)
  14. Cheers! Out of interest what is the difference between the 2 servos? Which is the 'better' one to go with? In terms of endpoints, I'm not sure due to my noobiness! It felt fine to drive and seem to handle as you'd expect but I guess it could have been an issue
  15. Yes I did, did you sell it a couple of weeks back or did you lose out on it?
  16. Hi all, Firstly, I'm a noob so please go easy if I ask some stupid questions! I bought a pretty much new Hobao Hyper VSe from ebay. It was the 80% build and the guy I bought it off of has kitted it out with: Hobbywing EZRUN 4274 2200kv motor Hobbywing EZRUN Max8 ESC Alturn AAS-750MG servo I've got it all painted up and ready to go and have just been running it around the garden so not given it a proper bashing yet. It's probably had no more than 2hrs of run time and the steering won't respond at all. I was in the middle of letting the kids drive it (me on the throttle, them on the steering) so we were going slow and it suddenly just stopped steering. I've taken a look at the receiver and swapped the leads (ch1/ch2) around from (as the mighty google suggested) but then nothing works so I'm probably doing something wrong on that as I was expecting the wheel to at least work the throttle?? Should the servo feel very stiff with the power off when I manually move the wheels? Is it pretty likely the servo has given up? Is that a crap servo so to be expected? Any advice would be really appreciated!
  17. @QRC - I keep thinking that every time I drive up and down the A1!
  18. Cheers AJ! Thought I'd share a pic of my car as well:
  19. Hi all, just bought myself a Hyper VSe. This is my first RC car (in my 40's now) and I'll be expecting to hit you all up for loads of advice and guidance! Here she is:
  20. Hi all, Recently ventured into the mad world of RC having hit my 40's and using the kids as an excuse. Bought a Hobao Hyper VSe that I'm already having a lot of fun with and no doubt will be asking lots of advice on! Would be good to know if there's any meets locally or anyone based in or around Huntigdon
