As @ChrisT has said the 1060 jobby will replace the servo the Mechanical Speed Controller as well it does everything digitally, it also supports lipo battery if you choose to upgrade later If you go for the kit the servo will be a good replacement for the steering servo and receiver plus you get a nice new battery, which will help!

No it will replace the bit in blue the bit in red is your Receiver or RX, you will need a new Transmitter and RX bundle is there are issues with that. Depends how much you want to put into to really

Servo is potentially dead. That setup is very very old, are you wanting to keep "original" or happy to upgrade? You can remove the old ESC and servo and replace with the 1060 ESC Would remedy most of your issues

The FTX Carnage Brushless for the money is really good, great starting point. It is a bit week in some areas but loads of spares available and even upgrades are good value!
