  1. Cheers for the advice on the tool! I might just get one if I can find one cheap enough! It's a 14t now, so hoping an 18t will calm the low end down a bit!
  2. Well it's been a fair while since an update! I've recently tried a floureon 5500mah 4s after a mate has been using their 3s batteries with no complaints. So far so good, lasts ages and very punchy too, impressed for 30 quid. Also bought an 18t pinion but rounded my grub screw on the one already fitted! Annoying. So any tips on getting that off would be appreciated. Last of all a set of barely used tarmac wheels and tires were bought for cheap, looks good fitted, need a dry day to test em now!
  3. I've just got one of these, and the first port if call is the battery. I've seen the 1s lipo and usb lipo charger for sale for this truck, but are there any plug and play nimh batteries available? Not bothered about having lipo, just longer run times.
  4. I was certainly in two minds whether to do it or not, but such a vast expanse of empty hard pack sand was hard to resist. I knew it wouldn't be the healthiest surface for the car! I'm sure some fine sand paper and smooth hammerite will sort the shafts and cups out.
  5. Considering getting set of tarmac wheels and tires, but wondering if they actually make huge difference to how it drives on smoother surfaces? Also after running on a hard beach, which is brilliant fun btw, it's obvious that hyper don't use a great treatment on the metal parts. Does anyone suggest anything other than rubbing down and hammerite?
  6. No I havnt, couldn't get a response from the seller regarding postage cost. If I end up with a bit more cash to spend I'll let you know, but currently I was just after something very cheap that may or may not need some minor tinkering.
  7. Yeah I've seen them but I quite like the more realistic looks of the others. Not a fan of the proper crawler look myself
  8. In derby Yeah, I was thinking 30 tops, I'm just after a cheap mt for my girls to use outside as they love my hyper 7, but I'll only let them steer it while I use the throttle!
  9. Hi, i have found a used maverick MT for sale, i believe its the brushed model, all I know is that only one wheel moves according to the seller. I've asked whats wring but that is all he knows. I'm assuming he means when driven and possibly a diff issue. What other possibilities and what would a working one be worth? Cheers.
  10. I think I would quite like a trail crawler for in the house and on holidays, wondered if anyone has got bored of theirs and wants to sell It!
  11. Cheers, haven't considered bigger so will check them out.
  12. So I'm new to the RC world having got a hyper 7 brushless conversion a few months back, and that's great fun. But I'm liking the idea of something small for inside or smaller areas outside. Initially a mini buggy or st was on my mind but I'm tempted by a crawler or trail crawler for something different and to use on the beach this summer when I'm sat around. I like 2nd hand for the value but open to suggestions of new sub £70 1/24 or 1/18 models. What do you think?? I've come across the ftx our back mini and that's about it so far.
  13. Hi, I would perhaps try the nitro section of the forum, this is just my experience with a brushless conversion I'm afraid. I'm sure someone will have the answer!!
  14. Lessons learnt this week : 1. The hyper 7 can handle a decent sized jump 2. The hyper 7 can handle big old crashes and rolls that seem like they will never stop. 3. The hyper 7 can't handle hitting one wheel into a metal post at a decent speed. 4. I need a new front top arm
