  1. Ahh the new servo I got was that exact Alturn one. Which isn't too bad, but as you say it may get loose over time i have a Tekno 1/8 buggy I just purchased which comes with a savox installed, I may put that into the Blitz as I'll be putting an SRT servo into the buggy
  2. So ive had my Blitz for a while now, since I posted last I have fitted a much better servo, at the same time fitted the HPi upgraded steering rack. I've took I to my local track once since fitting the rack and now it turns TOO well... I guess that's something I'll need to get used to. If I remember rightly on the rack I used the outer most holes towards the rear of the truck. Also since last post, I have installed the inline steering parts as well to replace the stock hubs my only problem now, is the truck rolling on its side during corners. I know going too fast will make the car roll anyway, but even feathering the throttle sends it sideways and on its roof, and it's happening on nearly all corners I'm trying to understand roll centre and traction roll, has anyone setup their blitz to specifically stop this? Tyres i am using mounted proline pin points (no pins removed yet) Also... got a proline Evo sc body to try and suppress the parachute effect, which doesn't do a thing to stop it happening, lol. All holes were pre-cut, there are some more that I could maybe cut out any help much appreciated! p.s, tried painting a body for the first time, damn it's hard! I first used the blue liquid mask from modelsport which wasn't that good, removed that and purchased bittydesign liquid mask which is amazing. Need to learn to cut lines more softly and straight. Hopefully the next body will turn out better
  3. When you mention the different voltages for the servo, what do you mean? i notice some are digital and have voltage ratings, would other parts be required to use them? Are they not plug and play with the stock ESC etc
  4. I used your guidelines last night for tweaking. Decided on 1 degree of toe in, -2 camber. Tried the car tonight on tarmac for the first time and it drives as straight as an arrow, even at full throttle. Far better than before. I'll put in the blocks next as you & Cookie mentioned. It now feels like a different car! Set up the same on the Siege which drives much better now too I did buy the RPM toe in guage, but after three hours of what felt like I was turning slowly insane, I gave up trying to figure out how to use it. So I used the camber guage against the skirting board method instead to set it the toe
  5. Looks awesome, do you race or bash it?
  6. Awesome I'll add them on and give it a try
  7. Haha, I'd stick with the iPhone and charger box but it just slides all over the place. Was adding things to fill the basket up so I thought I may as well
  8. Thanks, my next order arriving from Modelsport has toe and camber gauges so I'll try these settings when they arrive I tried to have a go by eye, and do other things without the proper tools and stuff. Also ordered a stand and a few other bits. Wish I purchased what I ordered sooner. Setting the car up on a charger box and an iPhone box just doesn't cut it, lol
  9. I couldn't bear to imagine these things on 3s! I managed to rip the ESC from it's tape at the weekend, shortly after my son gunned the throttle from standstill which ripped a tyre straight off Going to see how the steering and servo upgrades help with the control, and then look at lower gearing I think
  10. Anyone still running a blitz? I got a Blitz Flux a few days ago, absolutely love the thing. I can't control it for love or money (back to RC after a good decade out) running on 2s. Guess I need to learn throttle control, I can't even keep it in a straight line! Which leaves my son running rings around me with his Siege, although his car understeers like you wouldn't believe I have pretty much read through the entire thread, most of my noobish questions have been answered already. So I will keep looking back for parts and suggestions. Steering & servo will be first on the list I think We're just running the cars wherever we can at the minute, would like to get into some track racing at some point as I have ordered an E- Firestom Flux for bashing and the violent stuff
  11. Ah this may explain what the guy in the rc shop mentioned when I went in there for a cable adaptor. I was speaking to him about buying a car for myself, and mentioned HPI. He said they were great... but went bust a couple of years ago, perhaps that other company got them out the hole
  12. I think I'll wait for the Blitz. It just looks beautiful and probably better for my needs for now Are RC cars in general always out of stock for this long? I notice most of the big brands are out of stock everywhere, apart from eBay and Amazon where you'll find 2 left but £100+ more expensive
  13. I checked the Rustler out when deciding but, a very stupid reason I know, I hate the look of Traxxas shells and wheels unless of course you put one of those Xmaxx things in front of me, now those look awesome! I'm not sure they do the Blitz in 4wd, I think the other 4wd SC's would be an ugly Traxxas Slash. There is this though from another brand (and in stock) ~ https://www.modelsport.co.uk/maverick-timberwolf-brushless-short-course/rc-car-products/389512 Can't find much online about them though
  14. That's reassuring about HPI, I think on modelsport the stock is due in July... there's an SC10RS in stock elsewhere but I think I'll wait, as the durability reviews between the two go in favour of the Blitz. The Firestorm just looks so cool off the bat, can't wait to have some fun with one
  15. Took it for a good bash on different types of ground today, son was loving it. Doesn't do great in medium length grass but great on gravel. Also noticed I'm only a few minutes from Nene Valley Raceway, so will take him there next time With regards to buying myself one, I've become quite attached to the HPi e firestorm flux, and the blitz flux after looking further. I'll end up buying both if they ever come back in stock anywhere! Have looked at others like the SC10 and some of the Traxxas offerings, but still find myself looking back at those HPi's
  16. Hey, I don't suppose you remember where those front tyres are from for the Siege? Looking for some better tyres for my sons car, but can only seem to find the stock tyres. Some different wheels or other cool parts would be good too but again can't seem to find anything Yours looks quite modified from looking at the picture Many thanks!
  17. Good point there. We've only used it on flat ground, either concrete with a little loose gravel and then a block-paved culdesac. Not sure if we have tracks around here, we'll put it through its paces somewhere decent and go from there
  18. I think I may be hooked already, currently looking at one for myself! Thinking carefully as now I've seen what's available for a Siege, I may make the budget a bit more and get something superior. So much choice though
  19. Hey cookie, did you upgrade the Siege? Also how did the aluminium arms turn out? I'm just looking at future upgrades to my sons Siege, I snapped the inner suspension pin for the rear tonight and started looking at upgrades
  20. Have found a wealth of spares from a few shops, they're the rear inner lower suspension pins. Also found some aluminium suspension arms with pins, so that'll be a job for us when he's back over at the weekend. I won't tell him I broke it, rather an upgrade Thanks again
  21. Running like a dream consistently, the B6AC came today also. Charged the good battery up in just over an hour at 1.8a and it runs really good- until I jus crashed it into next doors recycling bin (see pic below) I've bent the metal pin that holds that left rear frame in place, any idea the name of that part? I assume now as it's broken it's better to order an upgraded part. I think the frame it slots into is plastic, so I could maybe buy stronger frames now for all round? Luckily I know how that all assembles... I undone the screws at the weekend and it's all linked to the shafts and wheels, took me an hour to figure out how it went back together The battery with the loose connector, is currently connected to the charger charging up at 0.9a. The charger would notifiy me if it couldn't connect so I'm assuming the cars connector doesn't like the dodgy one. I'll be replacing that with a Deans connector now I have them ready
  22. Currently looking up the Deans conversions, think I'll get my dad to do the soldering! He did all the soldering on my sons model railway, soldering multiple connectors to the rails as it's a DCC system. Should learn to solder myself really, but he can do stuff like that with his eyes closed Thanks for the help, I'll get that charger and the connectors ordered
  23. I just gave it a good run around on laminate flooring, it's chucking it down so unfortunately couldn't go outside properly. Running like a dream, I think it's that other battery, although the one that is working didn't work yesterday ill keep using the good battery for now, and test it till I'm home re: charging, is there a general charger that's any good? I've done a search on here and seen this B6AC model mentioned a few times~ HOBBYTIGER SKYRC iMAX B6AC V2 Digital Li-po NiMH NiCd 3S RC Battery Balance Charger + 4 Plug(2 T Plug + 2 XT60 Plug) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BBJKB8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lPAnzb92887K4 I could then swap all connections to Deans connectors, or just buy a Deans>Tamiya female adaptor cable
  24. Hey Zannu i just went out to try and work out some of your suggestions, I plugged the other battery in (not the one I charged for 13 hours) and turned it on, it's now working fine, full power everything. Slightly confused as neither battery worked yesterday i looked closer at the battery I charged for ages and the red clip for the housing is loose, enough to pull it out from the white housing if you can see in the picture... but as you would, when things are plugged in you check everything is fully inserted so that couldn't not of been the issue? This battery that worked just now I am going to leave on charge till tonight then re-test. It didn't work at all yesterday so I don't know what's going on On the transmitter it has various dials to change settings, I've left them all as they were in the shop. They change the turning angle, direction of controls, like reverse/forward etc. It has a bind mode button which the shop guy said to ignore as they all come binded, nothing happens anyway if I hit that button
  25. Forgot to add- the motor definitely turns when I apply the throttle, just not enough oomph when the car is placed on the ground. It'll run very slow at light throttle for a few seconds then nothing. Steering turns fine
