  1. A differential case, pivot plate and some bolts, after a misunderstanding with a park bench! All rebuilt this afternoon and ready for action once more [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  2. We're in Bridgwater. I've got a Hpi Vorza. Bought it second hand a few months ago after getting the bug again! Got stiched up a bit cos on the surface it looked like a really good buy, but in reality it needed quite a lot to of money spending on it. The motor had to be replaced along with the radio system and a few minor parts. I also had to buy a battery which I didn't realise cost so much. However, I've given it a lot of love which involved a full nut and bolt strip down and replaced all necessary parts. It's now spot on and stupidly fast! It also seems to be pretty strong as it has had quite a few big ish crashes, and it just keeps going. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  3. You must live just down the road from me! I'm on the Stockmoor development. Did I read in another thread that you're parents are from Watchet? That's where I grew up and my parents are still there. Just got back from one of mums Sunday roasts! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Dan. Yeah I'm in Bridgwater and I too am on the lookout for somewhere to do some bashing. There is a good tarmac area just up the road from my house - the J24 truck and car park. When it's quiet it's great cos there's loads of space. I've been up there a couple of times with my buggy, but I'd like somewhere off road as well. Nick Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  5. Well I tested it out today and all my transmitter issues have gone [emoji3]. The new radio system has made it so much better. I was considering getting a 6s battery for it, but I don't think I'll bother. It's absolutely mental on 4s. I ran it on some dusty tarmac and it just turned into a drifting machine! Even on clean tarmac it was pretty easy to drift. My new semi slick tyres are now almost full slicks [emoji15] Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  6. Well I'm pleased to report my ESC is looking as good as new [emoji4]. My mate took the plug off, split the cables and put heat shrink over the damaged areas, and then put heat shrink around all three cables for extra strength and protection. Today I've fitted it back in the buggy and routed the cable around the back of the motor so there is no pinch points. Also installed my new 2.4ghz radio system, rebuilt the buggy as I stripped it right down for a good clean, and fitted my new wheels. Powered it all up and all seems good. Just need to charge the battery and test it out, but that won't be for a good few days [emoji45]. Here's a few pics: Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  7. Well I've managed to get the cover off the esc, and just behind the gland there is only a couple mm of cable before its buried in waterproof resin. I recon this will be really difficult to cut, resolder and sleeve. However! Today while browsing the web, I have come across something called 'liquid electrical tape'. This stuff looks to be just what I need. It's a liquid rubber type stuff that you just paint on, and when it's dry, it's fully insulated and waterproof - easy! Has anyone used this stuff? I've just watched a video on you tube of someone using it for pretty much the same situation I'm in and it looks like an ideal fix. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  8. I have to say, the more I look at it, I feel less confident about it being able to be fixed. My only hope is that access can be gained to the inside of the esc. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  9. Ha I've worked out how to do it! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  10. I have yeah, but don't know how to upload them on here! The problem is, the core is exposed on one of the cables right where it goes in to the gland on the esc. It looks like the previous owner has, instead of running the cables through the slot in the clip that holds the esc in place, they have just jammed the cables in behind the clip which has caused the sheathing to wear away. 11. I went for this one as recommended by a friend for £28.50 Core RC CR277 Code 2.4G FHSS Steerwheel Radio TxRx CR277 Hopefully it's ok! I also treated myself to a new set of wheels : Fastrax Grid Iron 1/8th On-Road Pre-Mounted Slick Tyres on 10 Spoke Wheels 1 Pair Just got to hope my mate who's a electronics whizz can get inside my esc and sort out the cable. 12. Well, I've carried put some investigations and found that the transmitter / receiver set up is the old style 27mhz am type, rather than a 2.4ghz set up which is what it should have. I guess the previous owner maybe decided to keep the 2.4ghz system and just sell the buggy with an old system in it. A bit naughty if you ask me, but he got away with it as I was none the wiser! Anyway, a nice new 2.4ghz system is on its way! One other thing I noticed was to do with the esc. One of the cables going in to it has worn away the sheathing and become slightly exposed. The problem is, it's right where the cable goes inside the esc. The core is undamaged and isn't touching anything it can short out on. I'm hoping a friend who is very good with electronics will be able to some how get in to the esc and re-terminate the cable cos I don't fancy shelling out for a new esc! I feel I've been well and truly stitched up with this buggy! When I bought it, it looked to be in great condition, and the bloke seemed genuine. However, he failed to mention the motor was knackered! So I've already had to replace that. Now I've got to replace the radio system cos that's no good, and possibly even the esc! Apart from that it was a bloody good buy [emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15] . Hey Ho I suppose that's what you get when you buy something second hand that you know very little about. Live and learn! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  13. Now I think about it, a dodgy connection could be a good shout, as the buggy has done quite a few cartwheels and had some rough landings in its last few outings! Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  14. I'll give the cables going to the receiver a check along with the antenna cable before I attempt rebinding, and I'll post my findings. The fault isn't really what I'd call intermittent. It always happens when the buggy is a certain distance away from me. This is one of the reasons I suspected the batteries in the transmitter. I thought that maybe they were getting a little low and couldn't give enough power to the transmitter to send a strong enough signal to the buggy when it's a certain distance away? Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
  15. The antenna on the transmitter is pointing straight up while I'm using it and the antenna in the buggy comes straight up through the antenna tube. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
