  1. I did order a separate esc, the atom came with separate ones but I used it on a nitro car as its fm and stuck an am futaba in it.
  2. Ah I see, just the center bits needed! Brilliant thanks Ian, ordered a set, found some for £7
  3. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, this is mine.
  4. I recently bought some 12mm hex adapters for my sandmaster, they work well on the rear but as the front is a none rotating hub with bearings in the front wheels can anyone tell me if there is a solution for making that 12mm? I guess a hex adapter with fitted bearings or the likes. Thanks
  5. My latest update is I have another one on the way with an escort cosworth shell, I also found out that the noise mine made (rattle) was a worn spur gear. I managed to track down 5 spares from an international rc company at considerable cost but figured seeing as I will have two of them soon I might as well get all their stock. I got a 1:10 body too and fitment is close but the rear wheels are an inch too far back. I may make some foam wide arches and stick them on. I also want to do a twin rear exit exhaust so looking at copper tubing as an option.
  6. I think it was the esc, it just packed in all together so must have been on its way out. I just ordered another one as I have 2 x 3200 nimh to run in it. Just modifying it now to accept the batteries. I have fitted helper springs taken from a Computer heatsink inside the shocks to hopefully help with the extra weight.
  7. I'm lucky to have a pretty big garden so just messing in there at the moment. I quite like the idea of building and repairing them. I love messing about with old stuff like my kyosho, making parts and patching it up. I'd love to build a scale car at some point, and maybe join a club. I don't think I'd be interested in racing but you never know. I guess it's a lot of the model maker side that appeals.
  8. that's how mine was listed lol, I've ordered the parts as blacksmith doesn't allow collection do I got them all cheaper from China. Just have to wait now my fiasco continues though, I found out the metallic rattling from my kyosho sandmaster is also a worn main gear so need to find one of them. Ordered 2 x 3600 nimh batteries and a charger for the electric car and the batteries are too big for it lol. I won't say how much I've spent so far but let's say it's "significant" and I still don't have a fully working car!
  9. I'm looking for some cheap transmitters for a couple of cars, nothing fancy as they are only for use in the garden so range isn't that important. Thanks
  10. I think thats probably a good idea, I quite fancy a battery car
  11. Hi, I am a totally new nitro owner and just bought two hsp 1/8 monster trucks. After being stitched up I have managed to find out what parts I need to fix them so hopefully that's going to be OK. I'm wondering if it's possible to convert one to a car for for use on tarmac? Would it just be a case of changing for smaller wheels? They have some odd kind of star shaped nut on them. I'd love a nice Subaru shell or the likes if possible too. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I ask them sometimes
  12. Really useful guide thanks
  13. Brilliant thanks! The blocks are quite worn so I will try and pick 2 new ones up. Thanks again for all your help guys
  14. I'm not sure what they should look like but it has a metal block bolted to chassis and 4 screws holding the engine to that. There is no movement in the engine, I can't even lift the clutch and shaft 1mm.
  15. I can get the clutches and gears I need from blacksmith tomorrow but I'm worried about throwing another £40 away) not even including the other parts I need) has anyone ever seen a system like this? I am worried that these aluminum blocks are a crude attempt at replacing some kind of bearing system I can't see on the plans above. Should the end of the shaft even need supporting? I'm wondering if it was added to try and lift the clutch gear to better mesh with a worn gear. This really isn't helping my argument to the wife I was better buying two so I had some spares
  16. You have all been very helpful. I'm guessing I need to learn all this stuff so seems like they may be my best chance of doing so. If I can manage to fix one I should know the car inside out. Both engines start and run well so that's something. There were a few broken servos in the box and I have managed to change a broken gear from inside one for a good one and that is now working. I think so far I need: 2 x gears 2 x clutches 1 x aa batteryholder for the servos 2 x driveshafts 2 of the upright posts that hold the body on A transmitter as one is broken An aerial for the one that works as end is snapped And to find out if that aluminum Block that the engine shaft sits on is right. I will try and look at the exploded views later on a computer and see as I'm on a phone right now. Thanks everyone for taking the time to help, I know new people can be a bit annoying and it is appreciated.
  17. Both of the cars are the same, I agree it looks dodgy. The seller is a two hour round trip for me. I guess when I mentioned I was new to cars he rubbed his hands in glee
  18. I'm pretty lucky I guess as blacksmith is in Crawley where I live the 43 tooth one posted above looks spot on, I think I will also need some servos and clutches and a set of driveshafts from what I can see. I'm a bit concerned that they will just strip again as the Ali Block the shaft sits on looks well bodged on both of them.
  19. I may be wrong but I could 43, I have no idea what model it is sorry but it's the same as this one: Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172202800093 After looking closely at both if them it seems the teeth on the clutches are mashed up too. There is also an aluminum plate holding up the end of the shaft that the clutch is on which has been clearly bodged in an effort to lift the clutch teeth and the wheel teeth closer together. I'm guessing it's going to get expensive now.

  21. Hopefully this will work, this is the car that was meant to be working:
  22. Thanks bud no that one us stripped too and the gearbox is off that. I'm struggling with working our exactly what I need now. The bloke seemed genuine and I took his word. I think k I may have been had lol.
  23. Hi, I am a totally new nitro owner and just bought two hsp 1/8 monster trucks. The seller advertised one as working and one for spares. After a two hour drive I got home and realised the "working" one has a stripped gear. My problem is I don't know what it's called to get a replacement. It's the big gear that connects to the gear that is attached to the clutch part on the engine. Can anyone help with what to search eBay for? I think I may have bought a couple of lemons thanks
  24. Been looking around a lot and earlier suggestions of sandmaster seem right. I think mine us the sandmaster ii, Google images look exactly the same. I worked out how to raise the suspension today and now much better on the grass. Also ordered a few sets of hex adapters for wheels and a set of new wheels and tyres. Not seen a shell yet but made a cover from a sheet of plastic of the window of a toy box. Mine seems to get dirty really quickly and the pull start cord is always soaked in nitro, could I have a leak behind it?
  25. I was just given this electric car by my friend so my Son could use it. It seems to work OK except when you apply full throttle it goes slow. You have to ease the accelerator to get it up to speed. It has a 1100 nimh battery but my mate said it hasn't been used for 6 months. I'm guessing the battery doesn't have the power to pull away quickly. Oddly enough it is slightly better in reverse. Any advice welcomed. Cheers.
