  1. I think Dyna head would make a cool military vehicle!! Maybe get rid of shell an use something else!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  2. I don't have a 6x6 but I do have a wpl c24 there not the best but there are loads of upgrades out there for them! There is also a c34 which I think is a old school Toyota fj but it's available in a plastic kit and a upgraded metal version! In theory you could probably buy two upgraded metal kits an then the plastic 6x6 you wanted an combine the 3 kits to make your own truck!! Or you could just buy all the metal hop ups an build your own!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  3. Dude that looks awesome !! Great work on the d90 dude an the man cave looks awesome!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  4. Well possibilities are endless dude!! You can do what ever your mind an budget allow!! I'm skint lol but have done this so far I just started with pair of axles off a old rig an went from there!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  5. No worries dude wouldn't want you to buy a shell then it not fit what you have!! As altering links an driveshafts can be a ball ache!! An more expense!! Do you have any idea on what type of look or vehicle you want? Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  6. Yes sort of!! There are quite a few different shells an options out there I would try an find wheelbase out online or wait till you actually have the rig an measure it your self!! Most shells are in 270mm ISH or 313mm ishh lengths then when you know what you want it's personal preference an money!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  7. That's good price £142!! Hmm body options will depend on the wheelbase of your truck but eBay is a good bet Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  8. Ha ha love it cheers for the help guys windscreen looks awesome also made a bumper for up front need to figure one out for the rear next Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  9. That looks a right beast!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  10. Am loving the idea of the windscreen wiper marks!! Not so sure on cutting the hard plastic windows!! May just have to paint a little round the edges!! Like your bug that looks awesome!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  11. I like that idea!! Thanks I'm quite impressed myself I normally just blast a can of spray over shell!! To be honest I'm not normally that patient but paint smells nice no nasty odour so blast it over in workshop 2 hours later it's dry so sit there doin bits while she watches TV!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  12. Starting the roll cage today!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  13. So more painting again did salt technique on arches an bonnet!! Left to dry an did a bit of detail work last night!! Just need to figure out what to do with the windscreen window section as it's goin to look bit weird, weathered body but immaculate windows!!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  14. If you don't want to do airbrush you can use tamiya cans!! Unsure on other paints!! Search patina RC on you tube!! It's just a weathering trick that model builders used!! This will get tamiya Matt lacquered when finished idea is if scratch it show all layers of paint down to silver primer!! If scratches through I can just paint deep scratches silver!! Anne adds to effect!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  15. Wow that's goin to be a beast!! Surely can get esc that will power 2 motors!! As some crawlers have motor on axle so could you use 2 gear boxes?? Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  16. Well it worked I'm quite impressed! Just need to tape off the red an do my 2nd colour!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  17. Yea man that's the idea behind it!! I kinda like idea of old an battered lol was goin to do normal tamiya box art but weathered an then changed my mind!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  18. The water sticks the salt to the shell so it acts as a equivalent to a liquid mask!! But instead of getting little circles were mask would be I will get a irregular finish triangle squares etc then when paint has dried just run warm water over shell an it dissolves salt!! That's theory anyway wether it works I will find out in morning!! Does that make sense?? Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  19. Well will see what it's like maybe tomoz managed to blast it over with few more coats of red Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  20. More paint!! this time layers of primer mixed with different colours the idea is to give it a rusty effect!! I somehow managed to forget the photos but I masked off areas that are a different colour an with a small paint brush I put water on shell an applied rocksalt to certain areas!! An then left it over night to dry!! An then this morning blasted shell over with quick coat of red!! Will probably get a few more coats as can see few patches!! Really hope this works after all this work! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  21. 1st time done anything like this have built tamiya kits an my hobao bit different trying to figure it all out lol!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  22. So more paint on Friday 2 more coats of red oxide primer!! Also postman was good an delivered my shocks and brass bar so cut links to length drilled an tapped them an got my little rig basically set up!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  23. Its 6082 aluminium plate 3mm thick!! I'm in process of drawing up plans to make some chassis braces!! Even though it don't really need it there is hardly any flex in rails when compress front or rear end!! So chassis plates will just be simple trays!! But probably thinner material!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  24. So today was good day!! I was bit unsure on just measuring links an cutting them so I used some m3 threaded bar to create my links so I could get lengths correct cause these won't be a standard length!! Had to fiddle with them quite a bit but got there in the end an now have some measurements to figure out how to make some links!! I have also decided to get a little paint on the shell!! But I wanted to try something bit different so I'm using Vallejo model colour paint an using a airbrush!! So i managed to get 2 thick coats of primer on!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
