  1. Thanks .. I'm not an aficionado of land rover...but I do appreciate them.. I was looking for scale realism and detail in the weathering. I'm pleased with the results as a first ever attempt.
  2. Hi everyone... Not been on here for ages.... Last time I was addicted to 5th scale.. (dbxl & 5T) Now I've moved on... Scale crawlers ! This is my first attempt at detailing and weathering. Quite pleased with the results...but still a few more things to do.... What do you think of the progress so far? Just to add to the work load,. I've recently purchased n RC4WD d90 body.... That'll be for sale once it's finished 😜
  3. Hi everyone... So santa has left me a bit of cash this Christmas... So I'm looking for a tidy scale crawler to get back into RC.... Ideally I'd like an RC4WD... Hilux or cruiser.... Not got deep pockets so something cheapish but ready to go... What have you got??
  4. As above, I'm looking for a complete losi 5ive T body shell, ideally a new unused or new clear shell... Or a mint used one. Anyone help??
  5. Thanks guys,. The paint pens were ordered off ebay... £1.37 each Yeah I was just gonna do the lettering all white, then thought sod it, body is 'busy' might as well make the tyre's the same. It'll probably rub off soon enough. I was contemplating an 'urban camo' style wrap, but think I'll do something like that on the 5T...
  6. Thanks Might do the 5ive T next.... Think I'll look for a decent spare shell...
  7. Hi guys (and girls) Anyone with a 5th scale go bashing around Wigan...? Now the better weather is coming I'll be getting mine out soon enough
  8. Vinyl wrapped my slightly tired looking DBXL a few months back.... And got a but crazy with some tyre letter paint today... Nice and colourful
  9. I like mine, granted I have replaced a few parts...steering servo was the most expensive. Rest of it was more cosmetic. It's a great "entry level" petrol rc with loads of potential.
  10. My missus knows I have a DBXL + the 5ive T... Both purchased new, and there was no way of sneaking them big ****ers through the house .... What she doesn't know is how much they "really" cost The DBXL (new at £600) "Oh it was in a sale love... only £300" "£300... you knob head.... what you gonna do with it ?" "**** the neighbors off... lol... no, im gonna play with it love" The next conversation was, "so what you buying me then ?" We agreed on Yankee Candles..... The 5iveT "This ones on eBay love its new and well cheap... Im driving down to Telford to collect it Saturday...." "How much is this one?" "...Ummm.....£550..... BUT it should be over £1000..... !!!!" (it was £900 really) "Well I make that 5 Yankee Candles then..." So now if I get anything RC related (and she see's it)... Candles bail me out RESULT !
  11. Cheers guys. I'll no doubt be taking them both out on the odd "cold n dry" weekend's... certainly over Xmas they'll get some abuse... it's just the weeks in between when there idle.....
  12. Afternoon... this may be a random question.... What do you guys do for storing your petrol rc's over the winter period? I keep mine in my shed, obviously it's not insulated and its been freezing these last few days. it can get very cold and damp (just from freezing moisture in the air). To avoid rusting and engine seizures... and ideals or tips? I've been out this afternoon and let them run in the garden for 10 - 15 minutes each. Don't think the missus will let me keep them under the bed ?
  13. This one was new albeit a quick rating round a tarmac carpark. Done a few mods and put some 'strengthening' around the front and rear arches, few extra stickers and it's looking mint B-)
  14. Hi guys (and any girls) Who's in the north west (Wigan area) and where do you take your large scale rc's? I'm looking for a large field so I can run in my 5ive... And make any carb adjustments. Also somewhere to generally have some fun. Im conscious of the noise these things make, so want somewhere away from built up area's so I don't **** anyone off. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind travelling somewhere (Southport, Preston, Bolton etc) Thanks
