  1. Pretty much what im doing then. Hmmmmm shame you cant just put a jet wash on them like i do everything else. Iv just finisished building a car and im looking at it at the moment like "this is the cleanest you will ever be".
  2. Sounds a silly queston but how do you guys wash your cars? Given there electric and all. I wipe away us much as i can with a dry towl then get the rest with wd40. Not ideal though...
  3. have you considered this? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__39846__1_10_Quanum_Vandal_4WD_Electric_Racing_Buggy_KIT_UK_Warehouse_.html loads of parts and upgrades available although they can take a couple of weeks as the parts are all held in china i believe. but for that price you could buy two. one for the build and one for spares or spend abit extra and get some of the aluminum and carbon upgrades at once. Also quite cheep
  4. yer i bought my self a vantage, its true what they say about the being made of cheese. i brake something every time i use it. BUT i'v splashed out alittle ......well alot! and got all the ali up grade, now its hard as nails! not to mention it looks cool as f*ck. I also got my son a ripmax husky too and thats way tougher then the vantage. its had a real beating off him and held up fine. unfortunately hes kind lost interest in it now =-( but if you wont a cheep, little but strong rc for a child then the ripmax is a good bet.
  5. Just buy one. Why do you need a reason or excuse to treat yourself? I have a quad bike, a motocross bike, a kayak an rc car etc. Im also an "adult" but mans got to have a hobby. Well least i do anyway
  6. iv already had the diffs apart and regreased them. no broken teath in there and theres no sign of excessive wear. no shims in there though....should there be? is so were?
  7. while im here is it normal for the vantage to be so noisy? i cant pin point were it is, from gear mesh to the drive train. might be a combination of them all. But its rattly as hell! its my first rc car so i have nothing to compare it to but it doesn't sound right to me ...
  8. right just bought it, £70 outch! this build is getting expensive now! not helped to the fast the seller that sold me the last crap combo is giving me a hard time over refunding me the £40 it cost due to not having the original box anymore. If i can get that back, then its not so bad. Fingers crossed. thanks chaps
  9. ok so i found the combo i was recommended http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231288013223?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT this is it has a max current of 360A, thats more then my batterys can handle....??? "6000 .... divide by 1000 is 6. Multiply by 25... 150A" "5000 ... divide by 1000 is 5. Multiply by 40 .... 200A"
  10. Thanks for all you help fellas
  11. Thanks alot, thats very informative. So the batterys are fine and gearing is stock. Id say theres a fualt with the esc / motor then. I'll get another one sorted and give it a go. While im on the subject of replacing the esc and motor i have been looking at a 5200kv motor and esc combo on hobbyking that im thinking of replacing mine with. But thats an 80A esc as a pose to the 60A one i have atm, my question is why is one 80A and ones 60A? hobby king do a 3300kv combo to (the same kv as my combo) with the same 80A esc. Im confused as to why you can get the same combo with diffrent esc A's.
  12. no wiring gets hot but the motor gets pretty hot. So the 6000 25c is ok. I also use a 5000 40c. Is that ok too? Do in what circumstances ciukd you damage a esc then? Thanks
