  1. Are the overlander charges a good unit? I'm new to all this. The one that came with mine says 1 amp but takes around 4 hours to charge. Is there a way to determine how quick a certain charger would charge a battery? Had my first run on the grass today. Either the battery didn't last long or I was having too much fun as the car wouldn't go full throttle after 10 mins ish, but if I stopped and went again it went fairly fast and then slowed down again so I figured the battery was low and turned off. Had to give it a good clean though
  2. Battery charging up just now. Quick picture from my tablet. Think I need a better charger? Manual says 5-6 hours
  3. I've just bought a Helion Dominus V2 Brushless SCT from my local model shop
  4. I think the fire storms are out of my budget? If I could fit scale land rover or jeep body on a scout....
  5. Thing with crawlers is I'd always want a scale rc 4wd or gelande d90 etc. Plus they can't be raced around the garden, but I do like the whole scene very much. Maybe I'll get one as a 2nd rc later down the road as I want something semi fast to jump around the garden!
  6. I'm currently looking for a short course truck and keep coming across the ECX Torment. Was put off as it's only 2wd vs 4wd. There are so many entry level scts around
  7. Thanks guys. I think I'd want 4wd having watched some videos. I do like the volition but as mentioned it's 2wd. I'd be using the sct in my back garden which I'd grass and gravel. I'm quite mechanically competent and understand drive shafts, diffs etc as I work on my own cars quite a lot. I really fancied a scale rock crawler but the high price put me off as I first start into the hobby. I like the idea of up grades, brushless motors, upgraded esc, batteries etc. I'll keep my eye out on ebay and on here for used 4wd sct too. Many thanks for your input, it's really helpful.
  8. Hi, Yes that's some useful help regarding 2wd vs 4wd. That narrows things down a bit. I'll Google the models you mentioned and get back to you. There are only 2 local model shops near me, so I may pop in to those to see what they stock and what spares they carry. I don't mind buying online, or used.
  9. Hello, Sorry for another one of these posts asking 'What car to get'... I've posted in General Electric, rather than Short Course Truck forum just incase my decision to get a SCT is wrong. I live in the Scottish Highlands, just north of Inverness and really fancy a 1/10th Scale SCT on a small budget. I have no experience of hobby grade R/C trucks, infact my only experience of anything hobby grade is a 3 channel micro heli. Since it would be a new hobby, I do not want to go all out and spend
