  1. Heng Long and Taigen are basically the same company, like Toyota and Lexus, they just add all the upgrades to a standard Heng Long and then charge an arm and a leg for them, don't get me wrong depending on what you use them for they can be a good choice, but buy used they are not worth the new price imo. Metal upgrades may sound like a good thing but it adds a lot of weight and will put extra strain on the gearboxes and struggle to run well on grass, I am a member of a club who meet up for IR Battles at various shows around the UK, most of us use Tamiya Tanks or Heng Long with after market electronics like El-Mod or DBC, we all use plastic tracks for better manoeuvrability which helps a lot after taking a couple of hits and the tank starts to slow down. My Armour

Cheers guys, I will get back round to the Sherman at some point, now I have a few years experience behind me I also look at it and think "that's all wrong" I have had many more over the years, some I regret selling but they made room for my new found interest in Scalers

    My Armour

Thought i would share some pics of the tanks i have right now. First up is my f/o Tamiya King Tiger Then we have my original 1970's Tamiya King Tiger with milliput Zimmerit and running a Clark TK-20 board with servo recoil. Next up is my f/o Tamiya Panther with milliput Zimmerit and anti aircraft armour on the turret and engine deck. This one was my first, a f/o Tamiya Sherman, a poor attempt to make it look like a Firefly but i just like the look of it Next is my f/o Tamiya M26 Pershing, converted to a Super Pershing This is my f/o Tamiya Tiger I Now for my f/o Tamiya Leopard 2A6 And finally my original 1970's Tamiya Leopard A4, converted to a Leopard 2A5, lots done to this but still awaiting electrics

  8. Hi, I am trying to add some pictures (first time on here) but when I paste the IMG code from Photobucket nothing is happening, so I tried the image box on the toll bar and copied and paste it into the box, pressed OK and again nothing happened, anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong, I'm not a newbie to forums and most days I add pictures somewhere but this one has beat me I also cannot copy and paste text from a word document either , does copy and paste not work here ?
  9. I wont hijack your thread, I will dig some pictures out and start a new thread, I managed to fit the speaker in the back to go with the look I was after, but I cant remember what speaker it was, will have to have a look and also check out the visaton speakers.
  10. These are great looking models, and this is a great build, I never thought about combining the two kits when I was building mine, but then I didn't know they did a static kit, the El-Mod is the best way of making it a good rc model, the only thing that I would change if I could find a fix is to make it louder, I find if I turn the volume above half way it starts to distort, keep up the good work.
  11. Hi all, I also just signed up and have been browsing the forums tonight, tanks are my first hobby and I have had plenty over the years, its nice to see some good builds here and I look forward to contributing to the forum.
