  1. I bought one around a month ago which would not balance charge. I sent it back and got a replacement. Bit annoying sending things back but it would seem like it is faulty from what you describe.
  2. I broke my front A arm the second go at having a Lipo in it by crashing it into a wall. They are tough cars but you can't expect them to survive crashing into walls. I have ordered a T bone bumper for mine to hopefully prevent this happening. (Can't prevent the naff driving ).
  3. It looks better with the shell on as well if nothing else.
  4. Not got one but I like the Tamiya Lunchbox and the Mini cooper Monte Carlo - M05 I will get one of these at some point even if I never use it.
  5. I got this a few weeks ago http://hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__41130__Turnigy_TrackStar_Waterproof_1_10_Brushless_Power_System_4000KV_80A_UK_Warehouse_.html Really impressed with it but If you do do for the Hobby king one get the programming box to go with it. I ordered from the UK warehouse and took a few days to get to me. http://hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__42932__Turnigy_TrackStar_Turbo_and_Waterproof_ESC_Programming_Box_UK_Warehouse_.html I was also looking at the SkyRC Leopard combo before buying. If you do get it let us know how it is.
  6. I also bought a brushless combo from hobby king about 3 weeks ago and mine has this noise. I just thought that's what it sounds like. I Thought it didn't sound right but meshing is fine and it runs great so didn't put any more thought in to it.
  7. Page 9 mentions about the batteries then from page 34 in the manual it tells you about setting up the ESC. It mentions Auto Lipo cut off on page 37 but sorry I can't help any further I have the brushed version. sjw I have that charger and it does stop automatically at 8.4v for my lipos.
  8. Cheapest I could find from the UK was this: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/absima-cr2s-v2-2-channel-2.4ghzradio-control-system/rc-car-products/376271 I got one for my son for his birthday and it seems pretty decent.
  9. The Bullets are 4mm to the Turnigy Batteries. I bought some connectors off of ebay. I didn't bother with deans connector just put bullet onto my ESC soldered and heat shrinked sheathing onto it. Just noticed It does actually say the bullet size on the Hobby king site "Discharge plug: 4mm Bullet-connector"
  10. Might be interference from something what radio equipment are you using? Try swapping crystals or if its a 2.4ghz one try rebinding?
  11. Jesus that is terrible wtf is up with folk. Glad the scum have been caught and hope you get some of your gear back.
  12. Im in the holmfirth area Unfortunately the battery won't even start charging with the balance lead in so I can't check that. If I charge normally then plug the balance lead in it says low voltage. It's a built in balance board. The charger is a Overlander RC6-VSP. The charger does tell me the overall voltage of the battery without the balance cable in which is the same as the multi meter. I got it from wireless madness and i think the bloke on the phone is certain its my batteries but it can't be as I charged them on a normal charge (not balanced) and took the cars out with my lad this morning. Came back and charged them again. Ah well I'll get it sorted. The help from the replies is really appreciated cheers. Edit for spellings.
  13. Wish I had of seen that before buying mine!
  14. No not storing them at that, charge them up the night before taking them out. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a charger just me and my lad. Going to send it back Monday.
  15. They're easy enough to pull apart but it would invalidate your warranty. Might be better contacting hobbyking first.
  16. No its 7.4v 2s i select. I think its the charger. I used a multi meter on the balance lead to check the voltage on each cell and it's 4.15v on each. I'd rather it was my error to be honest right pain sending things back.
  17. I just charge them on my bedroom floor and keep checking on them. Didn't really think they were that dangerous?
  18. Yeah that charged fine, its just this one battery I charged it without balancing and it completed fine now at 8.3 Think it must be a loose connection on the battery. *edit* I just rechecked with the other battery and its now doing the same with that which is really weird because I charged one battery fine then swapped straight away to the other then got the error. The Charger is an Overlander RC6-VSP and it's brand new Looks like I'll have to return it.
  19. Thanks for the help. Is there a way to check for this without ripping the case off?
  20. Not completely no,I know it will start charging but tried looking into why it wouldn't balance charge first. Ill give it a go.
  21. First off apologies if this has been covered elsewhere when ever I search it comes up with reviving batters that are low on voltage. I have a 2s Lipo its a 5000mah used it twice. The last time I used it was Sunday then charged it using the storage charge Sunday night and all was well. I decided to charge it up tonight as I was going to take my son out with the cars on Saturday morning and I get "battery vol err cell low vol" I thought it was strange as it was not left to drain down and when I put mu multi meter onto the balance cable I get 7.72v which I didn't think was low voltage? Anyone know what could be the matter?
  22. Looks interesting, be sure to keep it updated with pictures.
  23. Yeah it is its a 3 pin clover leaf type of lead. I just got mine and it is a good bit of kit plenty of features.
  24. I'd also suggest this http://www.modelsport.co.uk/overlander-rc6-vsp-80watt-7a-output-ac-dc-charger/rc-car-products/379060 Comes with UK plug and a load of leads
