  1. Maybe a reset of the ESC is needed, will try that and see if it makes a difference.
  2. Turnigy nanotech 3S 5000mah 35-70C, all I want to know is what C rating people recommend.
  3. Apologies if this has been covered, took the firestorm out yesterday and both turnigy 3S lipos ended up hot and puffed up looking like there were about to burst. Time to get new lipos I think. Any recommendations? What discharge rating? Think the ones I have are 35-70c.

  5. Is there any metal diffs available for the Maverick ion (DT) part MV28016, or metal Diff cups that I can replace the stock part with? All it takes is a stone to get inside the wheel and the Diff cups snap, at £20 a pop for a complete it's not cheap. TIA
  6. I've had mine fail to reverse but go forward only.. I reset the ESC to factory defaults which sorted it.. Worth a try but probably useless as you seem to have a bad connection with your wires..
  7. I'd try two ways of repairing that.. Solder pin in the hole, you would need to drill a tiny hole to insert it.. Or screw in a threaded ferrel in the hole, then fill full of solder and insert the wire..

  10. I got a nut on the suspension tower...sorted Doh!!! Not for long! Drove it into a wire fence and got it jammed in The front suspension arm also came off where the pin goes through, indicated by the red arrow. Where the pin is pointing but on the other side you cant see, theres a split in the end. Are these meant to be like this? or should they be solid so that they don't pop of the pin? hope that makes sense..

  13. Looks like a new shock tower then.. Have model sport got any longer shock springs, you guys can recommend? The stock ones seem a bit weak and as many people state on the short side.. Thanks..
  14. I crashed my firestorm into my little man's front wheel of his bike... Wiping him out.. He didn't see the funny side. But he was fine after a few tears of shock! Daddy what are you doing to me?? He noticed the front right wheel hanging on by the suspension arm alone. Both turnbuckles popped off the ball joints. I popped them back on with my fingers. I then noticed the ball joint that bolts into the suspension tower had been pulled out of its hole about 3mm. I also pushed it back in with my fingers. You can see in the PIC its not bolted in tight, thread has been stripped. Can I put a nut on the under side or should I replace the suspension tower?
  15. I've had that issue twice... Take the car out and run it till the Lipo cuts off.. Take it home rinse clean, dry. Leave it near a heater to dry. New Lipo in and no response to forward and reverse. Only steering works. Go through the ESC setup a number of times and then forward and reverse work. Have no idea why.
  16. My ESC wasn't stuck down when I opened the box.. I stuck it back down using the existing tape, but it came off after a few runs. I used some 3m dual lock to fix it back down, but I can remove it as 3m dual lock is super tough Velcro

  18. Gently hose down...shake excess water off wipe dry then I leave it next to a heater. Once dry i apply a drop of oil to moving metal parts..
  19. Like I said in my last post, refer to the blitz manual for adjusting the slipper clutch.. As the reference in the firestorm manual is for the old style slipper clutch. The firestorm now has the same as the blitz. Page 26-27 http://www.hpiracing.com/assets/documents/instruction_manuals/109335-blitz_flux-eu-m-v1.pdf Oh and there a bag of black plastic bits... All the parts are listed in the back of the firestorm manual..
  20. The speed pack has both a pinion and spur gear, you need to install them both. The pinion is larger and will reach the spur. The manual that comes with the firestorm is Incorrect regarding slipper clutch adjustment. Read back a few pages and its covered there...page 313..blitz manual. Email modelsport and tell them your spur gear stripped, they should send you another via HPI UK.. They did in my case..
  21. Is there a way to hard reset the ESC? Edit: Found it in the manual..
  22. Never mind fixed it.. somehow changed the running mode..
  23. Mine won't engage reverse gear, will go forward though. Any ideas? so much for just being able to take it out and play.
