  1. I am after an brushless 1/8 buggy and the Losi is an option. Prefer to build myself so the race kit would be a good. The brushless kit is the best part of
  2. As the underside had the film on I just painted the top. Primitive paint job all round but I am pleased with how she looks:
  3. I see your reasoning but as I don't damage cars/flip them over I am still going to paint it lol.

    Painting

I have painted a few lexans recently for the first time, understand the principles, and got 'reasonable' results. I am getting a Gurt wing for my Mini 8ight delivered shortly and i am trying to get my head around which surface to spray. What's the deal with these painting scenarios? Thanks
  5. I shall use your logic. Thanks
  6. As is common with me I have taken my Slash 4wd apart. I have taken all shocks off simultaneously and a little unclear which way the hollow balls should be. They are not symmetrical and one side is wider/has more contact with the surface it touches (either shock tower or screw head) than the other. Does it matter? I can't for the life of me find a diagram on tinterweb either. Any advice appreciated.
  7. That link didn't work. Meh. Basically if you Google Odeon Cinema Bromborough it's between the cinema and the river.
  8. The Bromborough site is here: http://goo.gl/maps/XGxdl You will need to come off at junction 5 on M53.
  9. My brother would be sticking it in his currently brushed 2wd Slash. I think he would be sticking to 2S anyway.
  10. Would the esc be suitable for the Velenion 3500? Thanks
  11. It's not that close to you but there seems to be a large area near Croft Retail Park in Bromborough. If I was clever I would post a Google image, but I don't know how. There is a BMX track in Ellesmere Port but it is close to houses and nitro might well annoy them. Good luck.
  12. Purchased skateboard ramp. Placed in lounge. Carefully lined up the Mini 8ight. Bit trigger happy with launch and full throttle. Hit fire surround and snapped fancy new shock tower I had bought from The Toyz as well as gear housing. Meh.
  13. I appear to have made some headway by adding washers to the bit that joins the left and right steering components together (name of it alludes me). It's made a massive difference despite my belief it would have little impact. Lesson learnt.
  14. Thanks for responses. I'll methodically look at what you suggest - with efforts concentrated on slop in steering assembly initially.
  15. Hi people. I am not particularly experienced in RC setup and maintenance. I have recently acquired a Losi Mini 8ight. Umongst other things , I have upgraded the servo to a hitec digital one as well as a Kimbrough servo saver. I have noticed there seems to be a lot of play in the steering. If I hold the car I can wiggle the wheels a fair bit before the servo gears are engaged. When driving the car the front wheels wobble a lot. This is particularly pronounced when in reverse. I can't really see what to do in the steering assembly to remedy the issue. I have tried the search function and looked at YouTube but nothing really seemed to cover it. Any advice from people much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Nick
  16. Fitted a Dusty Motor cover to my LCG Slash. Looks very pretty. Hopefully should reduce the vast amount of debris it likes to collect.
  17. Hi everyone, just got back into the hobby after a 25 year break. A rush of blood to the head made me purchase a Losi Mini 8ight whilst in my LHS. The addiction took hold, spread to my brother (who purchased a Slash 2wd). I have since spent a bomb on upgrades and repairs. I have also just purchased a Slash Platinum addition, which is awesome. This new hobby is already causing friction with our wives as we are spending too much money online. However, we are enjoying bashing and fixing stuff. I have used the forum for info and advice and its been great. I thought I would stop lurking and introduce myself. Thanks
