  1. Ta folks. In the short term I will try gearing down a bit then and over the long term think about a new electrics system.
  2. Hi peeps. It's the stock Velenion system. It's not run hot before. The variables different today were large stone chips were the running service and had 1/8 buggy tyres fitted using the 17mm hex converters. The pinion is 14 tooth. When I stopped the car you could not touch motor. ESC fine. Any idea? Thanks
  3. Looking for some suitable on road wheels and tyres for my Mini 8ight.
  4. I guess that might well be the servo saver. Glad it's sorted.
  5. If you have no joy then let me know and I can post the spare set you.
  6. BTW. Wheelspin have the HPI shock protectors in, as I have just received mine.
  7. I havnt taken my buggy apart completely yet. However, I did take out the centre diff as it was leaking. It now appears fine once I tightened things up. However, left me with a few questions. 1. What wt diff oil for centre 2. Do the front and rear boxes seal and if so what oil goes in? 3. Is there an easier way of removing centre diff other than removing the screws from the chassis? Thanks
  8. Balls. Ordered 2 sets before you posted lol.
  9. Ta for that. I'll go with first one as the coke bottle (whilst functional) will make car look fugly.
  10. Does anyone have any tips for protecting the front shock tower when it flips? Is there something which can be purchased or should I just cobble something together?
  11. Thanks for that. Was it any good?
  12. I wish to use 1:8 buggy wheels on my slash and wincing at the cost of the Traxxas conversion kit. Anyone got one or similar that will do the job? Ta
  13. I have just installed the same esc and purchased a deans loop - enabling single or double. Are there any issues with using the wire loop, aside from having unused wire you need to strap down?
  14. Ouch. Sounds like a bad experience. Was it GS themselves or the battery?
  15. Giant Shark always seem pretty reasonable.

  18. Going to go with one 4S. Simpler, cleaner looking and more secure. Most likely the Gens Ace as I have had positive experience with these. Ta for input.
  19. Last one. Aside from being able to use 2s in my slash, are there other benefits to 2x2s as opposed to 1 4s? I can't put the 2x2s other than right next to or on top of each other so weight distribution isn't really a consideration.
  20. Thanks for that. It's a steep learning curve. I was thinking this one: Gens Ace 5000mah 4S 40C Hard Case Lipo Battery - All - 4 Cell Lipo Battery - Lipo Battery - Giant Sharkhttp://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/171090/gens-ace-5000mah-4s-40c-hard-case-lipo-battery
  21. Sorry. The ESC is the HW Xerun 150.
  22. Its two GensAce 4000mah 2s 25c. I plan to buy bigger single packs. Any suggestions?
  23. Yeah I got good mesh but the pinion came loose despite loctite. I therefore took it off and reset it. This time it was obvious I had done it too tight, as when I set it on the ground you could push it but it would stop suddenly unless you really pushed it hard. Reset it again and all was good. However, in the midst of all this there were two losses of power and the esc was flashing red (LVC) I thought, but both batteries still had over 4v. Default cut out on the esc is 3.2v I think so don't know what was happening. Could it be the batteries? It was 2x2s 25c. On the positive side I did get it running and its got a lot of power. Hurts considerably more than the slash when it knocks into you leg. Daft thing of the day was fitting a servo saver when it already had one further down the steering assembly. Can you have too many? Slop wasnt particularly pronounced.
