  1. I guess £450 posted - anything less and I may as well hang onto it and give it my little boy in a few years time when he's old enough to control it. I have no idea how much shipping would cost, but i'll cover it in the £450 and ensure it's signed for etc with a courier like Hermes. Paypal or bank transfer I'm fine with, so whatever your preference is. Bank transfer would be great as then I would incur further fees (unless you sent it me as a Paypal friend). Sorry for the late response, I was away with work until yesterday. Cheers
  2. Ok no worries - ping me if you want further info or whatever in the meantime.
  3. I've decided to sell Mud Pig as I barely use her these days, despite managing to still get out with the Yeti. As some of you will know, it's pretty much got the finest America has to offer inside it so I'm looking for an offer that reflects that fact. Which of course could mean I'm pricing it out of actually being sold For full details of the spec and a ton of pics, check out my build thread here: https://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/209264-zombis-axial-scx-10/ I've also included the spec below for convenience. I'm a bit out of touch with the scene and therefore what a realistic value might be, but Ideally I'm after something around £500 for it. Of course I could negotiate if it's absurd to expect it to fetch that. I'll happily post it out if the costs are covered - I expect it'd be about £10 with Hermes tracked and signed for. Payment by PayPal, Bank Transfer, or cash if being collected. I once totted it all up and it came to over £1000 spent on it. 4. I think the time has come to sell MudPig - she's not been used for ages whereas I still manage to get out with the Yeti...
  5. I think I pretty much cover the weaknesses of the Yeti in my build thread, and there are other threads (including this one) which also go into some details. I'd have a proper read through as your first port of call, then ask us some specific questions - it'll be easier for folks to answer that way.
  6. It's great to see people still using it, and that's exactly why I rebuilt the thread. I still get people contacting me about it either to ask questions or to thank me for doing it, so I knew it'd be a worthwhile effort. I posted my body prop mod on the Yeti FB page, and some guy commented: "Zombi as in the guy who drew up the freaking amazing mud guard template for us all years ago? You absolutely rock dude!"
  7. Lol yeah, I wouldn't have the motivation to cover that time period! My Mud Pig thread is in the same state, but I really don't think I can bring myself to repeat the process.
  8. 4 days later and all the pics are restored using Imgur now - that's nearly 900 images. Talk about a labour of love...
  9. I've begun the task of redoing all my pics. This make take some serious patience...
  10. Has it really been a year since I last posted on this thread!? And I see that Photobucket really did a number on us - maybe i should update my pics to what I'm using now (Imgur), hmm. Anyway, I made a mod for the Yeti I thought to share just in case it was of use. For a long time, not being able to prop the body up on its rear hinge annoyed me. Yeah you can do it by wedging your hex driver in there, but I wanted something a bit more elegant. So today I looted my spares boxes until I found some useful stuff, and it turned out well. First though, as it's been a while, some posing pics of the Alpha Gorilla Once I'd sifted through all the spares I have and selected what I needed, it was quite simple to make the body prop. The rod itself is a broken Vanquish titanium rear upper suspension link - the thread on one end had completely snapped off and because i'm a parts hoarder, I kept it. (I knew it'd come in useful one day!) I put a bit of rubber hose on the end then added some heat shrink, just so it was grippy on the underside of the Yeti shell. I fastened it to the shock link on the left-hand side, so had to find a longer screw (which was actually a bit too long and I had to cut it down a tad. That worked well and hinged perfectly. But I wanted a way to fasten it when the body was down as i didn't want it flapping about under there, and because the Yeti gets some seriously rough treatment at times, it had to be secure enough not to come loose. It also had to be quick to use and no-faff - I didn't want to be mucking about with screws or such likes whilst on the trail. My eventual solution was a clip that I managed to find on one of the parts trees from my SCX-10 Dingo kit. I used a cable tie to attach it to the left-hand bar of the battery cage. It allows me to quickly clip and unclip the prop, and keeps it from hindering the body when I close it up. I don't like the cable tie as it's somewhat inelegant, but it does its job. The clip on the other hand is pretty much perfect, and after some testing earlier kept a firm grip of that titanium prop. I can appreciate that not everyone has a spare titanium rod knocking about to use as I did, however that can be subbed out for any number of things. The plastic links these replaced could work, or any other tie rods you have knocking about. As long as you can put a rod end on there in order to attach it to the body, you're good. Just make sure it's lightweight.
  11. How do, sir. Yeah been using it, but only very sporadically. Now that my little boy is growing older, he's starting to get really interested in all things that boys do - including RC cars! It's the time i've been waiting for So I'm sprucing up Mud Pig ready for some adventures. I've been tuning the shock springs, need to make sure i'm 100% happy with it. I've also removed Arnie and his mate in order to make it less top-heavy. And looking back on my thread there, I see the last thing i was doing was adding the VP high-steer kit, and waiting for them to replace that duplicate part. Well they did so, and the turning circle on it now is insane. I really want a Jeep body for it though...
  12. All right guys! Good to see all these Yetis getting some love. About my Crud Guard; I'm sure 1mm thick would be absolutely fine, just got to watch our for tears. As as for my panels, I made them all from ally, apart from the bonnet which was an order from the US (I think it's made by AMF??)
  13. For those with a Tekin RX8, RSX, or RS - new Hotwire and ESC firmware is out. http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire.html
  14. Clearly a man with both sense and taste. Couldn't agree more on the high wear pieces!
  15. Now that I'm out of hibernation, I decided to get Mud Pig's bit & pieces on. The steering upgrade is great and gave me some reduction on my turning circle, but even with the wider hexes the knuckles rubbed on my tyres. Rather than get even wider hexes and lessen their engagement with the wheels, I decided to sell the Assassins and have ordered some Vanquish Methods with a few different adaptors. At least that way I know I'll be running an optimal setup. I also swapped out the springs starting with the super firm. Once the wheels come in I'll get out and give it all a thorough testing. To the pics: And here are the wheels I chose, mmmmmm:
  16. Has it really not been since January since I last updated this... wow! Well down to business. I noticed that my camber on the left from was heavy in the negative, so did some checking. Turns out I'd somehow buckled my Axial shock tower. Banners immediately came up with the root cause though - "Well it's obvious what caused it: Beast Mode". LOL! It must have been a serious impact for this to happen... Rather than buy Axial again, I decided to fall back onto what I know works the best, Vanquish! It's a nicer piece than the Axial offering, with no need for extra spacers. The only bit that concerns me is the attachment for the camber links is quite thin compared to the Axial one. I'm hoping it's made of stronger ally, if not then beast mode is going to destroy it...
  17. Thanks, glad you found it useful. Yeah those lights - just avoid looking right into them
  18. Definitely shouldn't be like that - it's faulty.
  19. And yes, the Locked up ones are supposed to to be ace, they're not called "F'ing Indestructible" for nothing! I use the VP (there's that dirteh word again) locker in my Yeti and it's been solid. A tad expensive though.
  20. Nige, so those lockers are a solid piece, they don't use that rubbish axial locker that rattles about thankfully. Banners said they're really good, especially for the price, so I thought to give them a whirl.
  21. And another VP Yeti part added to the list. If I didn't already have two STRC front skids... http://www.vanquishproducts.com/yeti-front-skid-plate-black-anodized/
  22. I've finally managed to start putting the upgrades onto Mud Pig, only to find that VP seemed to have packaged up two RIGHT c-hubs - gah. SO I'll pause the build for now and resume once they've sent me out the correct piece. I'm looking forward to getting this stuff on though, and getting out an about with the RCs again. Stay tuned...
