  1. Yeah certainly is, and sees a fair bit of usage too. The RX8 went a bit weird on me recently and I had to replace it, and then the sensor cable went, but other than general maintenance (replacing bearings, broken rod ends etc.) it’s been solid really.
  2. Another question - what outer diameter are the washers you used on the wheel mod? @Seminole81
  3. Thanks for posting that, good man. I see yours also has the same toe-in on the rear wheels that mine does. I was wondering if that was deliberate or not, seems it is...
  4. I've ordered some - I think the ones I have here were off my old SCX Dingo kit.
  5. I have some that look exactly the same as that but there's no way they fit onto the axle shaft. Did yours fit ok or did you have to drill them or something? Maybe i have some slightly smaller versions of those?? Think mine are 4mm. EDIT: On closer inspection, they're identical almost, but the ones I have use little grub screws and not those pin screws.
  6. Would you mind posting a link for the capra hexes that you have please? Im seeing a couple of different types, is it these ones: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124689121107
  7. How did you mod the capra hexes to make them fit?
  8. I managed to find some 12mm ones (apparently), so I'll try those when they arrive. I guess for now I'll be doing the same as you and leaving them as-is... I did the other tweaks though, such as loctite on the servo arm and shaft grub screw. At least the parts are readily available. I've read that people run it on 2S and still enjoy it but without the frequent breaks...
  9. Where did you get the 12mm m5 washers from? They only seem to do 15mm washers on ebay, which i bought but the wheel is now binding when I tighten it on.
  10. I've just tried the washer mod, but when i tighten the wheel back on there's some binding as the wheel doesn't rotate freely unless I loosen it back up. The washer is M5 x 15mm OD There were 2 washers on the axle that came with it, one was really thin. Are people using that one as well as the 15mm OD one? Maybe at 15mm it's too big...
  11. I've tried looking for what the chassis brace mod is on this thread, but I can't find where it's explained - could someone send me a link or explain it please?
  12. Bought one for my boy, and despite having the HD axles we've managed to bend one of the rear ones nonetheless! I'll be doing the washer mod later today (if I can get the hexes off, one of which now seems tricky to remove on the bent axle). Been running t on 3S and it's great fun.
  13. What new parts would I need to do that, just the longer links? If that's the case, is the best place to get them from? In an update to MP's mobility, the replacement brushes came from Honk Hong at last, I put it all back together and the motor is running just fine. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts now before it dies. I've also ordered one of those generic motors from eBay (China) as a backup for when it does eventually bite the dust. It'd be great if they're actually good, as it means mud bogging can continue, as for 10 quid a motor, who cares!
  14. Lengthening the wheelbase? What advantage would I have doing that then - more Jeep bodies?
  15. Yeah saw that thread with your new build - it looks awesome mate. Ok looks like I'll try the Proline body then at some point.
  16. Actually I wanted to ask. I want a jeep body for the SCX10, any recommendations? i was looking at the 2 door proline body that they do. I want as little faff as possible really for fitting. I remember you had a cool looking blue jeep body right? What was that?
  17. Yeah it’s looking the same as ever - awesome and one of the boy working his magic on Mud Pig... no longer a baby!
  18. It's one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUSTAR-540-35T-Brushed-Motor-for-1-10-Off-road-Truck-Bigfoot-RC-Car-B2G7/223705274264?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Yeah same really, despite this lock down annoyance going on! Still, it gave me the opportunity to clear out the axles and transmissions for Mud Pig and the Yeti so ever cloud and all that
  19. Thanks mate! I’m going to run this one into the ground seeing as I already ordered the spare brushes - may as well now. I also got some recommendations for a couple of motors on eBay for only about 10 quid...! Hope you’re doing well?
  20. So it looks like the brushes had just worn out completely, so my boy is off the hook. Now brushes ordered from RC Mart, but the comm is looking like it's had better days... As I don't have a comm lathe (and don't intend on buying one) I'm going to need to figure out a different way to spruce it up. I'm thinking putting in a drill and using some fine sand paper... anyone else ever done a fudge for this sort of thing?
  21. Well I'm glad i didn't sell MudPig after all, as now my boy at age 6 has taken the wheel and we're loving taking the cars out and about Thing is, we did some mud bogging at Black Rocks at the weekend and the inevitable happened - he blew my hand-wound Tekin motor! So could any of you folks in the know recommend a cost effective but decent motor for an SCX-10 please? I'd get another Tekin, but I have a feeling he'll continue to show MudPig no mercy and so feel it better I get something less expensive... OR, as it's a brushed motor I think it may just be one of the brushes that's worn out... Time to investigate Thanks guys
  22. Hi Gaz, is this still for sale as I'll have it off you if so... (referencing the transmitter...)
