  1. Seller has a 29cc KM for the 5b and says its possibily ported but cannot guarantee but does say it is a t-1000a which online does say its ported, I asked for width and height of the air and exhaust port but he only managed to give me the exhaust port of 20.7mm, is that a standard head or ported if anyone can shed any light. Tried looking online to see if I could find measurements but no luck.. Cheers
  2. Had a look at a new 26cc head only and priced at 30 delivered for a genuine CY head, also seen a 29cc head kit with piston clips roller bearing and so on km or rovan brand 30 delivered the 26cc is from uk seller innovative irc and 29cc from overseas. Cheers
  3. Whats the best way to clean the bottom end and crankshaft conrod im worried that theres tiny bits of shrapnel hiding around. Don't have an air line other than 2 small bottles of compressed air from poundland, also do the crank bearings come out after the circlips out or from inside banged out. Its been 2 years since I last stripped a Baja and im goning to have the fun task of remembering which screw goes in which hole lol cheers
  4. Would i need to change the crank seals as i did that 2 yrs ago if the crank seals fail would i see oil/fuel coming through.
  5. Yeah at times i would get bursts of power where the front end would almost be off the ground, the rust you see is RTV red silicone gasket i also have a 1mm copper gasket (not sure if that helps or not) im looking to go 4 bolt but if i can get away with cleaning the casing and put a new piston on and keep it running then when i have enough cash may be get a 29cc or 32cc, what could have caused the g clip to pop off, i cannot remember the last time i rolled the baja. Ive tried the clutch puller on the flywheel but cant seem to get it off, the oil seals where replaced 2 yrs ago, do you think i should replace them nice and clean no leaks, if all gaskets look in good shape is it ok to reuse them or should i use new ones. Thanks for replying to my issue.
  6. If i was to fit a new piston and needle nose bearinh and clean out the casings would tha be ok or would it be pointless only reason im asking is i bought a new piston and other bits 2 yrs ago when i stripped the baja and replaced all parts, also i did try to rich on high needle a couple of times buy would still get the top end speed doing the fuel then no fuel sound. Cheers for replying
  7. I have been having issues witht the baja where it would run like there was fuel then no fuel for the last 6 months or so on full throttle only, just a few days agobi filled tank and ran it for 30 mins tgen suddenly car just stopped like it had run out of fuel, i thought me messing with the tuning was the issue so i reset to factory and no joy, so i then decided to take the carb off and check for leaks and the fuel lines, i noticed the rubber insert in the fuel cap had come away around the edge, put it all back together still no luck so today i decided to take a look at stripping the engine and noticed whats showing in the photos the piston has a 1 to 2mm deep x 5 to 6mm wide gouge down one side and 2 to 3 line gouges down another side, i think the cause of this is that 1 of the g clips that holds tge piston pin somehow came away and damaged the piston and broke into pieces would that cause the engine to stop suddenly and then not start again until a new piston is fitted or is it something else, flywheel is in one piece with no damage, plug is clean and giving a decent spark. cheers.
  8. Currently got the original Chung Yang 26cc engine, the transmission gears are all stock spur gear is stock, clutch bell is vertigo, clutch fan fitted, all original casings for clutch, drive shafts are also stock not the heavy duty ones. From that what engine size can i go up to without having to change much or anything to compensate for the increased power/torque. Thanks..
  9. Have had the 5b for almost 2 years or over and never had any issues with the engine, just the other day after being stored for 6 months or so I took it out and started it up it started fine bit high on idle so turned the screw slightly and gave it a good run on full throttle it was belting up and down and on low throttle with no hesitation, after 30 mins or so I could hear the engine hesitating on full throttle it was losing about 15-20% power then coming back every half a second or so. I checked the fuel tank and thought it was empty and was hoping it was that, after filing up I checked the primer bulb all full of fuel and it started up but after a couple of miutes it started doing the exact same thing so I turned it off thinking I might cause unnecessary damage to something else. Could it be something as stupid as the fuel cap has a blockage where the little hole is (I just remembered that from a youtube clip I watched when looking for tips when I first bought it) I hope its not a bloody engine fault.. Thanks
  10. true, maybe i should have left the rear plate in orange and not black would have been alot easier to spot leakage...
  11. mike1980 your a star if its as you say will start the baja in hour or two and report back....
  12. I hope it is, just that this has only started since fitting new exhaust i dont remember it being like this with the last exhaust i had, going to start from cold and see which direction the air is blowig from and maybe place something over bottom area to see if it is or isn't air from flywheel. Might record it on tube and add link.. I hope your right right Scotty
  13. That's the foooookin annoying part I can't see any black stuff , what should I use to locate the leak specialist stuff or will fairy liquid be OK
  14. Nope its a 1 piece km pipe http://www.rcmodelz.co.uk/exhausts/tuned-pipe-exhaust.html Can't understand just fired it up for first time since middle of july and i can feel air rushing out from top right hand area of exhaust slight in the top middle but i've tightened screws changed gaskets added gasket sealer but still a leak.. i took exhaust off last time and blew throught it plugging otherside and no air was leaking... Cheers
  15. Traynor Way looks pretty decent to me and I've never been to County Durham LOL, plenty of open space car parks and fields week end will be your best bet just scout the area for guards SR8 2RU postcode... or try Google satellite in your area, you might come across something....
  16. Since fitting a new replacement exhaust same make/model and with an x port and 2 gaskets in place I have noticed a leak from the mounting area of the exhaust and it's annoying now as I have taken the exhaust off 3 times now and can't seem to fix the leak, I've used gasket sealant in case the metal gaskets weren't sitting flush still no joy. I was thinking of using fairy liquid around the exhaust to see where it bubbles up from is there anything else I can do that won't cause any problems.. can't see any other place where it could leak from as there is no oil fouling anywhere on the head... Cheers
  17. Have you used Flysky before, are they a decent make? Been looking at used..
  18. True parts are getting harder to find but LA parts house in US seem to be pretty amazing at getting hold of the mgt 8.0/4.60 parts, I'm going to be selling both my S50's sadly and just make do with the Baja as cannot afford to run all three (nitro fuel is a killer on the wallet) will post on here, good friend of mine ex model shop chief engineer is doing the A-Z on both trucks, I'm hoping I get a fair price otherwise I will have no choice but to keep one and strip the other for spares..
  19. It just slips now and again on firing up, might try your diy. Will I possibly need the starting axle too, part AA0109 its priced at a couple of quid also any videos or pics on how to replace the one way bearing.. Cheers
  20. For the TT Mta4 - s50 is there another alternative one way bearing clutch that will fit, the original part is AN0118 coming in at around £22-24 delivered. Cheers
  21. I can't seem to figure out which part is required for the brake disc to sit on brake disc is PD7258 and the exploded diagram shows the brake system, am I right/wrong in thinking it's part PD7210 https://www.manualslib.com/manual/404200/Thunder-Tiger-Sledge-Hammer-S50.html?page=6#manual All help appreciated..
  22. Do all the S50 trucks have the same Diff's only that an ebay seller has two identical diffs on 2 adverts one is for a S50 SE 2.5 and other is S50 2.0. Need as I've managed to bust a one of the four diff gears in half.. Cheers
