You could look at it two ways - its either a Worlds rere kit with a gold chassis, or a gold tub classic kit with almost everything replaced with Worlds bits lol. It's pretty much a worlds car with a gold tub and classic body shell. I like the old school gold tub look, but the Worlds drives a little more like a modern buggy, so its a sort of compromise In fact, just checked, the gold tub I've got on it is a vintage 1985 one (but the Classic rere fits too).

It's the Associated RC10 Protech body, the one that comes with the Gold Tub Classic Rere. It's the High Downforce wing though, not the one that comes with e Protech shell. The car is a gold tub, but is essentially a Worlds Car with all the parts I've put one it, I just prefer the gold chassis!

Just got a pair of 2S lipos from them, delivered in a couple of days for a very good price The e-firestorm on model sport (199) does come with everything you need, including a nimh battery and trickle charger. This has a brushed motor I believe, I have the Blitz short course version, which comes with a 15t brushed motor, and suspect this is the same. We get about 20 mins run time. I think the micro class will be more complicated than the vintage to organise! I know Matt said not to overlook them, but they do feel more like toys than the 1/10 (at least the 1/18 does, not tried the Losi 1/14, but it looked very fast!), but then again, I'm told they are all toys (I still argue they are racing cars, not toys - and it says so on the RC10 box!! ) One thing is for certain though, they are more difficult to fix with my fingers, as Richard said! Problem as I see it is, almost all the makers make 1/8 and 1/10, however, the size and performance of the micros varies hugely; AE only make 1/18 micro, others don't make 1/18, but might do 1/14, 1/16, 1/24 and so on... This one is going to require some thought to make it work fairly, especially for a championship.... (Matt!) in some ways, probably best not to get a micro until the class has been worked out... Loving the little micro, but still preferring the 2wd and vintage (I will try the micro during practice this week) On the subject, any more takers for the vintage class? I was hoping to run the RC10 this week...

If you've yet to get your vintage, and want a micro, does that mean you now have your KF?!? Might be an idea to have a chat with John (Nimrif) about the micros... See my comment above, but in brief I had a chat with him last Thursday about the micros, and he was suggesting that the 1/14 (like the Losi I think) should not be in the same class as the 1/18 (Like mine) because there is such a difference in performance. It seems that the 1/14 can keep up with the 1/10, and so would have a big advantage over 1/18s... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I was chatting with John today, and we mentioned the mini 8ight - they would more likely go in with the 1/10 buggies, as they are 1/14, but SO much faster than the tiddly 1/18 I've just got! Likelihood is that there would be a class just for 1/18s. Perhaps we should start a micro class thread on oople too! I'm more keen on the vintage too; as I said above, I got it to encourage my wife along really, however, I just charged the battery and had a quick go with the mini outside this evening, and it's FAB! Great fun! Really quick on a gravel drive and on the road, and goes surprisingly well on grass, the 4wd helps a lot... Can't wait to give it a go on the track on Thursday! Trouble is I won't know which class to race in!! Can't do them all, got to get some marshalling in somehow!

Yes, I think so, same chassis, just a different shell :-) I've got John to order me an extra battery, and a clear shell so I can do one in my choice of colour. I'm hoping my wife will come along and race it; I'll have to race it when she can't make it...

Wheels arrived, JC Racing Products 5 spoke RC10 wheels, and they fit standard 2.2" tyres, including the Pro-Line carpet tyres! RC10 with old school 5 spoke wheels and new Pro-Line carpet tyres Looking forward to trying them out tonight!! See you there!

I'll let you know tonight how these new RC10 classic wheels fit... Should be ably to fit any standard 2.2" tyre. And what do you mean? It's us 'old school' guys who need the advantage, lol! Good to hear it was nothing serious. I'm going to bring the T4 this week, want to see if my tyres squeal too!! Talking tyres, my RC10 carpet tyres arrived today (the right ones!), but still no wheels hopefully tomorrow...

Carpet tyres for the RC10 Classic arrived this morning, but they sent 4wd front mini pins rather than rears However, on calling MS they were very helpful and will be sending the correct ones out today hopefully the wheels will arrive tomorrow too! P.s. Vintage class discussion is getting busy on the SWIRC oOple sub-forum, go over have have a look and chime in with your tuppence worth, we're trying to come up with suitable class guidelines (motor limits etc)... not as easy as it sounds!

Ball cups for the T4 to replace the one I broke last Wednesday. Expecting some RPM ball cups and titanium turnbuckles for the B4 this week

Great night of racing, couldn't have asked for a better opening night! Many thanks to MattyV6 and all those involved in the hard work getting it all set up and running the evening so well, you know who you are I was really pleased with the carpet tyres on the RC10 B4.2, they worked stunningly well, especially compared to the RC10 Classic with standard Champion/Edge tyres (I tried the Classic on the track during practice - and span out on almost every corner!). I too have to work on the driving now Rtsbasic! It is strange being back racing 1/10 buggies after a 20 year gap... Going to have to get the practice hours in! I've ordered some old school 2.2" wheels and (modern) carpet tyres for the classic now, so I can get around the track with it when we get a vintage class going!
