  1. The servo works I put some electrical tape round it but if it goes again I can just use my spare. Only reason I want to use this one is it has metal gears and accordion to the guy in the shop if I hit something hard it is less likely to strip the gears as it would apparently do with a plastic one which is my spare.
  2. Have you tried taking it out of the tube from the length you describe it sound like you have a similar receiver to me although mine is a non branded one I can get a good 500 - 600m Range on an open field (And that's only as I reach a building a one end and the trees there I am stood). Have you tried running it somewhere wide and open the signal should travel better if there are no obstacles especially if they contain hight amounts of water as the 2.4GHz frequency has real trouble penetrating.
  3. Thanks guys i have sent a email last night explaining all the details waiting for a reply soon I hope.
  4. Yeah I know only run it twice so far that us better than the one run I manage on nitro when the new engine exploded during run in. Fix one issues and another arises. Still trying to find out if it is possible to short out a channel on my receiver.
  5. Here is the servo cut as you can see it went through all the orange wire but only skimmed the red and didn't touch the browns . With a bit of tape holding the wires together it still works perfectly. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/30028-/
  6. there is no damage to show on the receiver unless you mean the servo but the servo is tested and working I am wondering if I have shorted the receiver.
  7. I think I have done something really stupid again I was testing my new radio I had it working quite well then put the pinion on my car I tested again and the car accelerated nicely I was also testing the steering and it turned then stopped turning and wouldn't respond but the throttle would respond. I switched the throttle and steering and the steering worked on the throttle and the throttle didn't work on the steering wheel. On closer inspection my servo has caught the drive shaft and the cable had split. The servo then stopped responding all together once I had put some electrical tape round it and on the trigger it then worked again if I put it on channel one it still didn't respond but if I put it on channel three it worked. Is it possible to short out a channel on a receiver it's brand new and I just got it today with my new transmitter should it not work or should it work. I don't want to say it doesn't work to modelsport who I bought it from as I think I am the one who broke it so is it possible that it wasn't me or is it most likely that my stupidity has cost me again. 8. Sorted the issue like a dream it now works even better than before looks like this might have been the issue with my nitro engine revving on it's own and why I swiched to electric. The manual is nice to have also I know how things work really nice.
  9. Thanks for that site might get a few pairs of them at that price just need to see if my new radio works tomorrow
  10. Just bought a new radio thanks for you help guys I am going to cross my fingers that it works spend a bit more than I wanted but it has nothing other than good reviews its a Carson Reflex Pro 2 with FHSS seemed to have nothing but good reviews so went for it be nice to get a radio with instructions.
  11. Not really don't have a spare radio or esc, was looking for a cheap radio just to test and just missed out on one on eBay that went for
  12. Moving the endpoints just seem to turn the speed down that's all tried moving them all bit by bit one at a time and together but same issue just keeps occurring. Also found that using the trigger for steering works fine with no issues. When I say it has not got wet just tried taking the batteries out and putting them in again and I have some greasy watery substance on the battery bay but that is not connected to anything as you can take it out. Looks like I might need a new one don't really want to spend that much but don't want a piece of tat either what would people suggest.
  13. The throttle trim is fine I have checked in over and over and it is in the right position. Not too little so it takes load of pressure to get a response and no too much so it runs constantly.
  14. I can do one better just done a video couldn't work out if I could upload it here so it's on youtube
  15. Thanks for the responses I am going to be looking all over for good deals.
  16. I have no idea of the make it says digital proportional system on the side but no other markings and it didn't come in a box
  17. It's the transmitter and receiver that I have no instructions for the esc has instructions that I have followed.
  18. it's all calibrated using the set-up button I know that works as I said above if I use the steering for throttle it works fine with no issues
  19. I am experiencing some quite bad issues with my RC car and it accelerating and reversing by itself. I have tried to troubleshoot the issue and got know where. Here is what I know so far the car is accelerating to full throttle when I just put my finger on the throttle and not move it at all this doesn't happen all the time and looking at my hand when I do it the trigger hardly moves. The steering seems to work fine and if I switch the wires round on my receiver and use the steering wheel to apply throttle it works perfectly. I am thinking it is one of three things causing the issue it is either the RAGE ESC that is a few weeks old as it the motor. The transmitter that is a few years old and was used a few times, I have no idea of the make I was handed it by the shop owner saying that will work no box, instructions nothing. Then the receiver this came with my transmitter as that will work with it apparently according to the guy in the shop it had no instruction of box either. They run in the 2.4GHz range. Has anyone experienced this issue before this is currently making a very expensive paper weight as it is unusable in it entire state. Things like this have happened before and is the reason why I got rid of my nitro engine and converted to electric.
  20. Yeah bulk is what I am looking for if it gets me a better deal it's worth doing. Does anyone have any idea about the cling film thing I mentioned on the first post would love to know if it make a difference on this small scale.

    Old Tyres

I am looking for old tyres for a 1/8th scale buggy used it what I am looking for no rims are needed just the plain tyres.
  22. seems a bit pricey but that could just be me coming from a place where I had thousands of pounds worth of tyres for nothing where a set of tyres only lasts one maybe two meetings. Read a forum where someone made tyres out of bike tyres and people where telling him to stop being so cheap. They seemed to just chuck them away.
  23. just got 5 sets of rims and an extra 2 rims thats 18 together and six of them with tyres for less than
  24. Is there anywhere I can go to get old tyres for by 1/8th scale buggy. When I used to race karts I burnt through tyres at a fair rate and with them costing
  25. Thanks for that I have read up about lipo safety before I went electric so did make sure that the side the lipo is on is better protected the stones enter more on the motor side of the car and I am thinking of 3D printing some protection plates for the front of the chassis to deflect stones away while driving and maybe an extra lipo protection plate inside to cover the exposed front of the lipo. That gearing has helped me loads still need to do it roughly for my car but should be able to save time and make it more reliable using that. Not sure about it wobbling but I have noticed the spur is slightly wonky inside the centre housing even when screwed down, it fits quite tightly between the holders so I don't think there is any wobble but it could be this slight tilt that is causing the wear. I have got some spare tyres on rims of ebay got a buy it now for
