  1. Awesome video! Definitely need to get myself a set of those and erm another set of fifteen52's.... Lol I love how addictive this hobby is. I just want to spend hundreds. I think I've spent over
  2. Love those videos of you blasting that around. Need to get myself a motor fan and a cable tidy too, after I've unpacked the controller and used the car! Lol. She's even packed the controller for my micro rs4.... Just the controller. I've got the car and the charger....?!?
  3. Ok, so just as a matter of curiosity, are there any harder compound tyres that would perform better as on road sliding tyres? I don't mean drift, but I kinda do if that makes sense. More powersliding... There's a point on these cars (granted my suspension needs tweaking to be fair...) Where grip trumps power and it just tumbles over. I would MUCH rather power always trumped grip and it threw its ass out... They only need to be a little harder I reckon. I'm terrified to take it out with my block shell, which was bought second hand and is scarred anyway, as I don't want to scar it further. And as for my GRC block shell, that hasn't been outside other than when it was delivered. I'd like to use it but I really don't want to damage a
  4. Nice mike. Loving that! I might be just too trigger happy but my stock wr8 just seems to fall over on corners on tarmac...
  5. Agreed Jason... That kit is awesome. Although I still haven't got around to finding out about the clutch bell bearings.... And my misses has packed all my models now as we are moving in a week or two. Lol
  6. That's awesome! Are you considering fabricating a new chassis plate to accommodate the predrilled holes in shells? Just measuring up the difference should be simple enough wouldn't it?
  7. Thanks for the advice gents! I'll have a quick look in a second and see if I can find anything that looks like what I'm planning. Exactly that, shelfer with rare use.... So scale looks are going to be my main focus.
  8. That shell says sprint 2 on the description, unless Tapatalk has sent me to the wrong thing again... And regarding the abu dhabi shell, its just as thick. I've not seen the clear ones to be able to comment, but my gymkhana 5 feels the same thickness as both my Abu Dhabi and GRC shell.
  9. Hiya guys. This might sound really goofy but I want to build one of the lorry's from my work. I work for reading borough council as a dustman, and we use Dennis refuse collection vehicles. I can't find even the chassis/cab in the rc world so I can only guess this is going to be an enormous job to attempt, unless I can find a toy or somthing with enough detail to use. Chassis is a 2/2/4 steer/granny/drive so having a single drive axle helps my project. (Although if needs be I'd be happy to make the granny axle drive too if its cheaper/easier to use a twin drive chassis). In terms of mechanisms in the back, I think it would be best to leave the majority static for simplicity, but I would like the back to lift up to show the plate inside the body. This is my first post regarding this so any critisism is just as welcome as assistance, and I don't really know where to start. I guess my main questions are has it been done before? Have I missed any models of similar nature? Is there a chassis that would be good to use or would scratch build be better? And I'm used to modelsports website for my bashers... Who are the specialists in scale model? Thanks people! Jim
  10. That's why I've got two wr8's... Nitro shelf queen (cos it's a pain to tune up) and flux for bashing (plug and play). Even got shelf wheels for both so they look smart
  11. You've got it now.... Might aswel keep it
  12. Nothing official on hpi's site yet but there's a few European websites selling the Lasek shells for a wr8 http://rc-team.pl/karoserie/66458-hpi-racing-karoseria-subaru-wrx-sti-bucky-lasek-body-wr8-113239.html'> http://rc-team.pl/karoserie/66458-hpi-racing-karoseria-subaru-wrx-sti-bucky-lasek-body-wr8-113239.html The photo is clearly a micro rs4, based on the bodypins size, location and lack of at the back. But nonetheless that definitely says wr8 Edit: HPI part number 113239
  13. Would be really cool of there was a polo project so those of us with more than one (he he) could have a rallycross diarama!!
  14. I don't follow wrx. Pretty sure its not aired on free view channels (including BT sport and ESPN) but would if it was. I became a block fan purely from the car control displayed in gymkhana. That and his car looks mental! Personally.... These scooby's will probably grow on me.... But at present I don't like them at all.... Lol. As long as unpainted shells are an option I'll be really really happy!
  15. Thanks for the info I'm usually very gentle anyway but I'll be even more careful of the wires in future. I don't have a soldering iron yet and although I used to love it in technology at school, I need some practice on an old TV remote before adding half a kilo of solder to an rc model...
  16. Lots of people seem to have to solder hubsans.... How come?
  17. Don't think about it, do it!!
  18. As long as they do a clear one so I can paint a gymkhana 2 scoo
  19. That mx5 looks awesome! Looking into future track projects and think it'll end up being either an mx5 or e36... Just need finances to open the door!
  20. Agreed. The dimensions are questionable. Wonder what they wear like.... Just bought two sets of gymkhanas... Might treat myself... Lol
  21. They have for ages but they seem to be becoming more popular over here now. Plastidip has been massive in the states car modding scene for a few years now.
  22. Shiney new toy! Makes me feel really geeky in an oddly cool way
  23. Lol yeah I can only imagine but the YouTube vids sound loud enough. Staying off topic for a second.... Baja.... Is that pronounced badger or baaha? I've heard both used but wonder which is correct.
