  3. Hi all, Some bits I've just got kicking around Two speed gearbox in perfect condition with brand new casing £25 including P&P but excluding fees Chassis (I'll leave the battery tray and receiver box on as seen), chassis supports and servo mount £25 including P&P but excluding fees Battery box and hump pack £25 including P&P but excluding fees Upgrade steel centre drive shafts (brand new just missing packaging) £25 including P&P but excluding fees Open to offers on all of it, it's just sat in a draw doing nothing.
  4. Yes mines not so much mud as mulch from running in the woods. To be fair last time I looked i replaced any bearings that seemed knackered and completely cleaned and repacked with grease any that I reused, maybe this one wasn't quite as good as I thought. There rest seem fine apart from being grubby. It's my most used truck but even then it's probably been out a dozen times in the last year. But it has put up with a fair hammering from charging around in the woods. So some of this...... And this..... Has resulted in some nice cleaned up parts to work with when I reassemble the bits. Before After And the shocks are going to get refilled so the citrus spray is great for smaller parts. Seeing as I'm on leave this week I've ordered the bits to fix this so I can get on and use it at the weekend.
  5. Well I've been out today down to the coast, so thought I'd chuck the old girl in the boot. After about 10 minutes I could here it clicking and closer listening suggested it was from the rear. So when I got home I stripped the rear end........ I think I should have done this sooner, the bulkhead was full of crap. Now I try to look after my rc stuff but I simply don't have the time to rebuild it every time I goes out, but they get washed off and all visible crud removed. Really surprised by this though and definitely something to watch out for in the future. Then I discovered the reason for the clicking.... Oops maybe I've left it too long, it doesn't get soaking in puddles and stuff anymore but it gets muddy. I guess I just need to check more regularly. So parts will have to wait until payday, but a full bearing set and the knackered parts will definitely be on the cards. Although I'm a bit worried about what I'll find I'll take the rest apart anyway. I think I had the gearbox apart not all that long ago as I was worried about if the Dewalt conversion was damaging it.
  6. So been hunting for ideas for reasonably priced mods for this that will keep me busy for a few evenings. So I'm thinking of buying a chassis mounting and panhard kit for the steering servo. Then I stumbled across this YouTube video. So has anyone on MS done this mod? Was it worth it or should I just buy alloy parts to replace the standard items?
  7. Sorry about that I actually brought it new but built off eBay, but I'd never checked the slipper Again sorry about the bearings, to be honest I never noticed. It had been muddy a few times but never submerged. Interestingly when I got it the pins where bent from the test run the guy gave it before he sold it, hence me sending you some. Apparently they're not very strong at all. I thought the front looked wrong a while ago but couldn't be bothered to investigate any further. Overall I hope you are happy with it. I'm just glad it's gone to someone who can really do it justice. For some reason I just never gelled with it probably because I just prefer the chunky look of trucks. Good luck with it and I can't wait to see some videos of it getting used.
  8. Yeah I gather anything in the transmission and the four corners is worth upgrading. Servo horn is first on the list, I'm curious because it seems to have a horrendous turning circle is this normal? The amount of mods for these things is mind bending, but I think I'll just have to be patient. Anyway today I got it up and running with all the bits and pieces I had kicking around. A HPI SB-5 metal geared servo (11.8kg according to the spec), quickrun 1060 esc and a 45t motor. I know it's probably a bit big but I'm going to use my 5500mha 3s for the time being as that's all I've got in 3s. There was a bit of binding between the end of the steering rods and the tyre where there was two together. Spaced the wheel with a washer to give a tiny bit more clearance And filled the dampers with fresh oil just so it's usable next time I get an opportunity.
  9. So here's my first proper venture into the world of scale (ish) crawlers. Brought from the for sale section here it's going to be a long term project and a budget build (by crawler standards at least). It's an SCX10 Deadbolt with vanquish titanium suspension links and metal steering links. Other than that seems pretty much standard. The original plan was to strip and rebuild it, but I'm keen to get on and use it because it's something I've wanted to try for ages. I love my big trucks and the Yeti but sometimes they're such a pain to hump in and out of the car and clean up. I'm hoping this is going to be a bit easier to chuck in the car and use especially if I want to take it on holiday. I have a few ideas already because a lot of the rod ends have play in them (not a huge amount). I'm also curious about the chassis mounted servo conversion. I'm sure there will be plenty of questions along the way and a lot of trial and error. I just wish that some of the bits weren't so disproportionately expensive (I can't believe the price of some bits). The important thing is I have another thing to tinker with
  10. This from AlphaZero who's been a pleasure to deal with Looking forward to stripping and rebuilding this
