  1. Good luck with that. Ever since owning an rc natural lumps and bumps that aren't either on the road side or in inappropriate or darn right dangerous places seem to be a thing of the past where I live . Big and flat is easy to find but dull. Lol.
  2. Well my X1-CR was just over 9 lbs fully loaded with a 6s lipo a couple of months back. After cutting nearly 2 inches out the width it's now 9 lbs dead on.
  3. Pulled 66mph today. I know it not lighting but it's my best so far for an all round buggy.
  4. Yeah I have similar issues with tyre ballooning. My diffs have 7k - 10k - 7k at the moment and medium flex belted vp pro evo striker tyre's. But a 60mph + the tyre's were still catching my body. So I've cut nearly an inch out of each side of the stone gaurds. Luckily I am in the process of making a new body so thining it down is not an issue. Excuse the roughness of it at the moment. It work in progress.
  5. Nice little build sir. I'm thinking those chassis braces's might work on my X1-CR. Although I might stick with the cnc braces and a carbon fibre front top deck option to mount my esc to. Keep us updated on progress.
  6. http://www.smddirect.co.uk/ http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-catshow/HongNorSpares.html http://www.bmmracing.co.uk/replacement-parts-hong-c-361_373.html http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/m/146/?setMobile=2&auto=1 Amain hobbys / Modelsport / Jemodels / KingsHedz. All do lots of HongNor parts and upgrades. + ebay. So I wouldn't worry about parts. However the others are also good.
  7. Trimmed nearly 2" width out my custom body mould for the X1-CR E. This is just a test and a bit more cleaning up on the actual mold is needed and some lexan sheet. But it's working ok so far.
  8. Had a couple of runs today with my new vp pro tyre's. They perform really well. However they still balloon enough to catch the body at speed. So as I am making a new body I might trim the whole width of the car down as I can easily loose nearly 2" either side without issues. And it will give loads more for the tyre's to flex without catching the body. Hit 60mph comfortably today before the tyre's got in the way.
  9. Yeh, we have a old collage made wooden vacuum former at work. Very handy. Just going to order some 0.75mm lexan from ebay I think.
  10. Oh bummer frostic! I can't say for the crt as I have never owned one. Only that the arms are longer and probably are weaker because of it. On another note. The mold is nearly done. Just a few touch ups here and there. And I need to get some good polycarbonate as the stuff at work is way too thin. So tried some thicker plastic just for test purposes. And was quite happy with the results.
  11. I know it's a bit of a cop out. But ordered some VP Pro evo striker wheels and tyre's. As I'm sick of trying to glue and belt and tape and re glue old second hand wheel sets. With little success.
  12. I will see how this turn out first. But will certainly consider the truggy shell.
  13. No I will be happy to do as many as required. If it all works out that is.
  14. Hold on what's a drift shaft lol? I thought it was a typo but not sure now.
  15. What length do you need and is it dog bone or universal joint? I've got a spare 100mm dog bone.
  16. Un responsive steering servo. New one ordered.
  17. Not a massive move forward but it's on it's way. Quite pleased with the carve so far. But there is plenty of time for it to go horribly wrong lol.
  18. Hmmmmmm. I might try this. The only thing is as I've tried other options in the past is that my tyre's are not smooth on the inside there grooved to help the foams stay in line. So this will reduce the surface area the tape can bond to. Any suggestions on that point?
  19. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.binarytoys.speedometer&hl=en Managed to get out again today but my tyres are still giving me jip. If there not coming un-stuck at the rims and tearing into my body then the taping belting and gluing are failing and i'm getting huge ballooning, Also lost my steering near the end of the run too. not sure what the problem is there yet. Thinking of trying these bad boys. http://www.redrc.net/2010/10/vp-pro-809-blade-evo-808-gripz-evo-tires/ On a plus note I have found a lovely big long flat grass area to run on. So if I can get everything staying put 63mph + should be doooable.
  20. First run for ages today. Not to bad but tyre's let me down again so only got 5 or 6 min. Also my tx seems to be arsing about as the range was a bit poor from time to time. So only pulled 53mph. Might try and get out again after lunch.
  21. Blew the dust of it with my new compressor.
