  1. I might have an unpainted one available just depends if I feel my current one will last long enough...!
  2. I have mip 17mm hex adapters on my firestorm, I had to get them from the us off eBay for about 30 dollars, traxxas and someone else do their own, however from what I remember when I bought mine was the traxxas ones were splined for their special wheels and the others were really expensive Ps that's them on my profile
  3. Have you got a torx bit you can try that is slightly larger as occasionally if you can get one of them in it might get some purchase Otherwise you could drill it out
  4. Depends how much they cost you as to whether you'd want to shave them down to the right size or try and source a deeper 12mm hex
  5. Good thought, but could be like the guy saying his standard mt4 g3 was massively hopped up and did 80mph and 200ft jumps haha
  6. Haha poor from you evssv [emoji14] Anyone fancy asking him why? !Aha
  7. With my imax I just bought both separately off eBay, charger 18 quid and power supply 5, dunno if it really matters if it's a fake as there are so many different rebrands of the same 4 button charger With regards lipo and added wear there will be no more on 2s as it's same voltage if not less if you're using 8.4 v nimh already
  8. It's not going to be new first off.... Secondly it's most likely not going to be good without any work.... And it most likely won't be either sturdy or fast [emoji14] good luck with your search as anything for that price will either be tiny, broken/need a lot of work or not ready to run
  9. Use the search function as there is a billion threads similar to this with people looking, there will be all the suggestions you need for good chargers
  10. You could also check out vapextech batteries on ebay if you're sticking nimh
  11. Yeah I wasn't sure whether stock was 8.4v, if you were to get a new charger then you might aswell get a lipo capable one and then you can get 2s lipos instead of nimh
  12. You'd keep it at 7.2v (or possibly 8.4v maybe) the voltage won't affect the mah, look for 5000+ if you're going to stick with nimh but bare in mind it'll take a small age to charge on the supplied charger
  13. Ah that might be one difference, doesn't break stuff on mine Chewbacca you there ...
  14. Itd be boring if you didn't have that much power, but in relation to the better truck I can't floor it without my fs flipping on its roof or spinning uncontrollably in circles from a standstill so I don't see the need to be able to [emoji14]
  15. I think they may have been popular in America but it's 1/8 everything or your standard 10th scale buggy or short course racing Nothing much with stadium trucks however everclear I think has been to a Plymouth track which let's you drive whatever for fun...
  16. Welcome to the forum, you've picked a well known tried and trusted basher as your first http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/109667-THE-E-Firestorm-Thread This is where you will find all the information you'll ever need or want about the e firestorm.... In terms of going brushless a good combo is the hobbywing Sc8 wp and a 4 pole motor (depending on what batteries you are and will be using will affect motor choice) This is the combo I have in mine and you'll never go back once you've gone brushless as you'll get much better speed and virtually maintenance free on the actual electrics, whereas most brushed motors aren't expected to last as long That is why brushless will cost more however
  17. I'm not really sure how you tell if it's fake to be honest as some say anti fake codes are on them but.... Out of interest was that just the first link as http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221739468485?nav=SEARCH Also you could always get the combo from UK and then you have a motor and program card extra, it's a bit dearer though... All the eBay sellers quote ages for postage but when I bought mine from Rcmart website it arrived very quickly and I avoided customs
  18. Pretty sure they'll have a plus and minus next to the hole, and obviously a red and a black wire
  19. Get him to do it for you first time , then you can learn and save money or buy more batteries
  20. Why not [emoji12] everything has a degree of danger anyway ever done it at school in technology? That's how I learnt and then bought myself an iron which was pretty crap tbh but did the job
  21. Soldering is an essential skill really, yeah it looks ok but you can get just as good, if not better specs for less than half the price so then you have 2 to prolong runtime
  22. I'd still go turnigy batteries as you get much more for your money and they're tried and tested on here Anything 30c and 4000mah plus is fine for the firestorm but get as high capacity and c rating that'll fit (dimensions of battery tray in firestorm thread) with the view to being able to use them in larger 1/8 scale if/when you upgrade You can get them around 12 quid from hobbyking. ...
  23. That means it's the baja champ [emoji106]
