  1. Well that seems pretty simple. I think i may well do it! I could always rudce rides hide and put the old shocks back on for car park thrashing. Thanks. Danzul90
  2. Any advise, tips or suggestions more than welcome! Danzul90
  3. Hi folks, i apoligise fr the late intro, i have been bugging every one with questions for nearly two weeks now and only just noticed this part of the site! My bad! Any ways, I am dan and as many of you may have noticed i have a Thunder tiger tomohawk VX. I am very interested in on road as well as rallying and am a real life motorsport fan of pretty much any Not too sure of what else i should put on here but if any one has any questions i am a pretty open guy and try to always be honest so fire away. Many thanks, Danzul90
  4. Thanks for the advise, I have put a balloon over the receiver and the connector for the batteries, and a condom over the batteries as i did not have a balloon that fitted over without snapping. As for the servos, i am looking at buying the wet protect as suggested above. However, i was looking at the servos yesterday and they look pretty much sealed. the only area i can see that water would get through is where the seal is for the shaft that comes outside the box and spins. ( sorry, i don't know the proper name for it.) With this being the case, would a good dollop of Vasoline around the seal do the trick for the time being as it is water repellant? Also the steering servo sits almost directly behind the front wheel which isn't ideal in wet weather, i will post a pic up at some point, i'm thinking maybe i could make a cover for it to work as a shield from direct spray / flying debris. Many many thanks, Danzul90
  5. Further to this, i was just browsing the Modelsport site in the nitro rally car section and my car a Thunder tiger Tomohawk VX and it is listed as a rally car, however i thought it was on road only? even the description say on road or carpet??? This has really confused me now! please help! lol Many thanks in advance, Danzul90
  6. Hi folks, Ok, so i am pretty new to R/C but i have a Thunder Tiger VX Touring car. so far it is absolutely awesome!! However i am thinking about buying a rally car next year and have some questions. Can i temporarily use my touring car? not for racing but just bashing about in the woods or on similar surfaces? Obviously i would raise the ride height as much as i could If i was to buy an electric or nitro rally car brand new, would it be waterproof, or are only selected models waterproof? I don't want to go tearing through puddles or torrential rain, but maybe light rain or on damp slightly muddy surfaces or is this a no go? Many thanks and i apologize for all the questions. Danzul90
  7. killed all four tyres on it with in one tank full of fuel...... tad too dusty out side....
  8. Obviously i don't intend to drive it through puddles or any thing but if there is enough damp on the ground to create an amount of spray will it damage the servos, electrics or any thing else? Thanks, Danzul90
  9. Can some one please help me? I have a thunder Tiger Tomohawk VX. Its nitro so can i use it in wet weather? Obviously if it is absolutly leathering it down i wont be out but if the floor is wet or it is raining lightly will this do any damage to my car? If so is there anything i can do to 'water proof my car'? Many thanks, Danzul90
  10. I am hoping to do a bit of both, what is the best way t remove old tires? Is it as simple as cutting them off then filing the glue down to a flush finish then fitting the new tires? Thanks, Danzul90
  11. Ok thanks for your help every one! Danzul90
  12. Yes its on my Subaru. I am assuming the cooling fins are the ribs on the glow plug surround? And no i don't have a temp gauge, is it worth getting one?
  13. I don't think so, i want to run it a little richer as its a newer engine, but today i couldn't get it to run unless i leaned it out. Although i had to lean it out quiet a lot compared to the settings it was on last time. But then this is the first time i have used the shell.
  14. Where do people recommend to buy new wheels and tires, separate and fitted, im after a selection of tires for my 1/10 touring car. I need slicks as well as tires suitable for use in wet weather, slightly muddy conditions and some that will cope with dusty surfaces. I also need some new wheels as i have a habit of clouting the curbs out side the house! Many thanks, Danzul90
  15. What is he best way of cooling the car down while running it? IT seems to run fantastically when the shell is not fitted but if i run it with the shell on it runs for a while then performance deteriorates before the engine dies, this seems to be due to over heating? I have a hole in the shell roof for the glow starter and a hole in the rear window for the pull start but this does not seem to be enough to cool the car down. Should i cut a hole in the front window or will this effect performance? (drag) Admittedly this issue is only occurring while using the car outside my house meaning the longest straight bit i can safely use is only about 15 - 20 meters long. So could the over heating be because there is not enough of an air flow over and under the car? or can i fit some sort of fan using the spare channel coming from the battery? Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i so enjoy using the shell as it looks so good! Many thanks! Danzul90
  16. Thank you very much, i will do that tomorrow!!!
  17. Can some one tell me how to set my steering so that it is central? If i set the trim to neutral on the controller it turns the wheels to the right? If i turn every thing off and turn the wheels so they are central and then turn the car and controller on it returns to the right again? I can get the car to steer straight using the trim if i turn the trim nearly all the way to one side, although this makes it usable, it bugs the hell out of me! Many thanks, Danzul90
  18. OK thanks, i have been looking breifly one the Modelsport site and ebay but can find much, but to be honest im not entirely sure what it is i should be looking for.
  19. No, its all working perfectly now, it was simply down to the batteries. Can you buy rechargable battery packs for the Controller and for the Reciever rather than buying AA batteries evry few weeks?
  20. OK, so i went out and got some new batteries, the cra runs sweet now!!! But there must be an option available where i can change from AA batteries to rechargable battery packs, surely???
  21. MY parts arrived today so i repaired the car and gave it a run, now i know the batteries are low in the reciever. but both my steering and throttle servo seem to be unresponsive and / or sticking intermitantly. Is this due to low battery power? The throttle was acting this way before i crashed it (front suspension damage) but i fitted what spare batteries i had leaving a mix match of full and low charged stuff. I know this is not ideal but it was just for a 5 minute blast! Now my steering is actiong the same way and im hoping its just battery related rather than a damaged servo from the crash:( If it is battery related, is there any way of replacing the AA batteries with a better single peice battery pack? Many thanks, A concerned Danzul90 LOL
  22. Does any one know if or where i could find one to fit a 1/10 touring car? I would prefer a Legnum but either will do! I have looked on google but cant find much. Thanks, Danzul90
  23. Took an absolute age to get it started, ran it for 5 minutes, crashed it, dumped it in the garage till tuesday when replacement parts will hopefully arrive! http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/25808-/
