  1. Excuse my ignorance, what would i be hoping to achieve from that trick? Thanks, Danzul90
  2. Ok thanks, ill give them a call on monday.
  3. Its a spare so i don't mind no. a bit of drilling and if manufacturing my own parts like mounting plates wont scare me off lol Its just some thing i wanted to consider.
  4. The Kyosho chassis or the fact i'm not sure? it was mate mates from over 20 years ago, he is not 100% sure but thinks it is Kyosho. I had a look earlier and the servos are kyosho. also it looks like a touring car chassis.
  5. There is a small amount of the teeth left, i have moved the engine across in hope that it would grip and i can carry on using it for now. but i'm not sure it will do any good. There is a good 2 mm missing as can be seen in the picture. OUCH!! lol, ill give another set a try and make sure every thing is seated properly, if these only last 20 tank fulls then i shall definitely give him a call! Thanks Any idea how long it takes Modelsport to send stuff out that is on back order? I am hoping to have it running again by a week on Monday.
  6. I have a spare chassis, its all ready to run except for the lack of an engine..... it used to be a nitro but i would like to know what is involved in converting it to electric power. Is it as simple as bolting a motor and battery on? Or is there more to it. I think it is a Kyosho chassis but past that i have no other details, i can post a pic tomorrow if that's more helpfull. Thanks, Danzul90
  7. Where can i find uprated possibly steel spur gears for my Thunder Tiger Tomohawk VX?? I took the car out and gave it a good run this morning, probably the best one i have had with it so far! Unfortunately i have killed the 1st and 2nd spur gears!!!! The stock ones are plastic and i can find these easy enough on modelsport. But with them being plastic i think they have gotten too hot, turned soft and then been worn flat! I have ordered some stock replacements for now. Hopefully i can find some stronger ones as i don't want this to happen repeatedly. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26051-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26052-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26053-/ Many thanks, Danzul90
  8. KILLED IT!!!!...... but only temporarily.
  9. how do i do that? and do i do that before or after i upload it to my gallery?
  10. I appreciate this may seem trivial but i honestly don't know what i'm doing wrong. Thanks again, Danzul90
  11. Started off driving forklifts, (Counterbalance and Reach) Went back to college to become a mechanic Joined a flooring company after being made redundant during my Mechanical apprenticeship. Now trying to find something permanent where i can be home every night and with some sort of consistency in shifts so i can see my wife and two boys more!!! More to life than money
  12. I never thought you could have too much lube on your shaft......... I will deffo give it a wipe down tomorrow then, looks like this is the cause then! Is a bit strange though as other then the bearing it is pretty much sealed away from any contamination of fuel.... hey ho... Thanks a lot guys! Its greatly appreciated! Danzul90
  13. Is GT6 available on PS3 or only PS4? Thanks, Danzul90
  14. I will remember that one. Cheers mate! The shaft is sits nicely as it is more than long enough, and the two pull starts are identical. I had the same problem with the old one which was the reason i got a new one lol I have taken it apart and played about again since i started the thread, although i have changed nothing it appears to be working now for some reason with out an issue.... I will check the Shaft tomorrow though and give it a quick wipe. Thanks! Danzul90
  15. Ok i will try that tomorrow, will it not need repacking with grease or some sort of lubricant? I did have a play with the one way bearing and it felt pretty much spot on when i gave it some abuse by hand. although i should think there is some o lot more power using the pull cord than there is my fingers lol
  16. Sorry to bother you all again with yet another problem and more questions! I promise i am learning!!! I recently bought and have just fitted a new pull start for my Thunder tiger Tomohawk VX. The engine is a Pro-18BX 3.0cc. I tried to start the car a few days ago and the cord pulled out and returned fine, but there was no tension/ compression, it wasn't turning the engine over. I figured it must be that the spring may have slipped or something like that, so being the keen to learn person that i am i pulled it apart hoping to find the problem, having never looked inside a pull start before. I couldnt see any thing obvious so i rebuilt the pull start and tried to start the car again but with the same issue, only this time i noticed that on some pulls it was fine, others it was not. I decided to pull it apart and have another look, this time i snapped an inch off the end of the spring. I ordered a new one and re-shaped the end of the spring as a temperary fix till the new one arrived. I have now fitted a brand new pull start but have the same problem. I have tried to up load a video with the glow plug out so you can see exactly what i mean but i can't work out how to put the video on here. Upon deeper investigations i found that the conrod appears to have an amount of play in it, what i mean by this, is that although the crank feels and looks fine, as you look at the photo below, the con rod will move forwards and back on the crank shaft. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26050-/ Although this does not appear to effect the little nodule that sits inside this thing below (sorry i am terrible with names! whther peoples or items) http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/26049-/ I know when fitting it all back together again it was all seated properly. It comes accross to me as though on some pulls of the cord its all connected fine, but on others it is not at all! I hope this is all understandable and explains thing well, i normaly struggle to explain things and have a bad memory for names whether it be peoples names or the name of an item. Thanks for taking the time to read all this and hopefully helping me out! Danzul90
  17. I have checked all nuts and bolts are all tight so i am now 100% certain there is no air leak. I have ditched the last 300/400 ml of model technics fuel and will run the car on the new optimix tomorrow. i have also returned the needles to what i believe to be factory settings High speed needle 3-3.5 turns out. Low speed needle 6.5 turns out. I have also fitted my new pull start that has arrived. This has highlighted another problem however. I will run the car tomorrow and hopefully return with good news with regards to the hot starting and bogging down at high speed issue. In an attempt to keep things clear and not confuse myself or any one else i will now start another thread with the new problem i have found so hopefully you kind people can also help me with that aswell. HERE is the link to the thread although i am certain they are not related issues. Many, many thanks, Danzul90

    Awesome!

Ten minutes after posting that the parts arrived haha!

    Awesome!

I was hoping the pull start would arrive today so i could go back down and get some videos or some better in motion pics. Unfortunately they haven't arrived and being the weekend now i shan't be able to get to the bmx track due to how busy it tends to gets will have to wait till monday now unless i can find some where else to play.
  20. Could you pm me the stock settings i dont have a manual. I think i found them on the internet but i can get it to run at all at those settings! Thanks. Danzul90
  21. Well hopefully it isnt a worn piston liner, it has had only about 2 litres of fuel through it. I will get it out this after noon assuming the new pull start arrives and adjust the high speed needle to run it a bit richer. I normaly shut the engine off by pinching the the fuel tube and it always revs up. I will also ditch the last of the tecnics fuel and start on the optimix instead. I will let you know how i get on. Thanks for your help! Danzul90
  22. That's Fantastic! Thanks again! If i could see a rep button i would be clicking on it right now for you. Cheers. Danzul90
  23. Really helpfull info! Thanks pal, just gotta work out which one is which lol. Thanks again
  24. i am just finishing off a a 2 and half litre tub of model technics 16% and have not had an issue before. Its a Thunder tiger tomohawk VX. The engine is a PRO-18BX 3.0cc I have just had some new fuel arrive which is Optifuel Optimix 16% The last of the technics fuel has been stored in the fuel bottle not the container it arrived in. i put the cap on top of the bottle but is it possible the fuel is no good now?
  25. In that case there doesn't appear to be any air leaks.... must be overheating then. When you say it could be over heatiing due to being too lean, could this be linked to it bogging down on full throttle at high speed? so running it a bit richer may cure both issues?
